Chapter 494 Funds

"Hold up a sec!"

Ronan suddenly had a lightbulb moment. "Elbert, aren't you the owner of this place? How come you can't get in when the kid's hungry?"

Elbert sighed again. "It's kinda complicated."

Dennis popped his head out. "Yeah, we really can't get in!"

Elbert's face tightened. Why do you always have to mess things up?

Aaron let out a soft sigh, looking up at the sky. "I get it now. You're not really the owner, are you?"

"A designer?"

"A programmer?"

Aaron shook his head slightly. "You don't need to prove anything to me. I'm not as picky as you think. As long as Melissa likes it, I'll find a way to deal with it."

Elbert's mouth twitched. He decided not to explain further, to avoid deepening Aaron's misunderstanding.

"Tell me about your business," Aaron's voice suddenly grew serious. "I've been in the Veridiania economic circle for decades. I gotta say, the smart store business looks pretty promising!"

"It fits right in with our country's tech development goals."

He turned to TO, "But your business has high costs, so growth might be slow. I'll try to contact some old friends to raise some funds for you."

Elbert gave an apologetic smile. "Mr. Clark, sorry, I need to take a call."

Both older men were taken aback. Is this kid acting up again? Another imaginary phone call? What's wrong with him?

Seeing this, the two elders breathed a sigh of relief. Elbert pulled out a phone, which he had bought to keep up appearances.

"Hello, Elowen."

"Mr. Perry, is the funding ready?"

"How much?"

"I've contacted 12 multinational banks, and the amount is roughly 3 trillion dollars!"

Elbert pondered for a moment. "3 trillion... that should be enough for the initial phase."

Elowen: "However, some investors want to see some proof. Their attitude is humble, though. If you don't care, I can reject them."

Elbert shook his head slightly. "You never make a losing deal. Tell me, what benefits do we get from showcasing our strength?"

Elowen chuckled. "Mr. Perry, you truly live up to your name! If you can demonstrate technological prowess, I can reduce their stake to below 15%!"

Elbert responded with a single word, "Worth it."

Elowen: "Alright, I'll send you some materials later. That's your stage to shock the world!"

Elbert hung up the phone. The two elders were left bewildered.

12 multinational banks? 3 trillion dollars in funding? They thought the kid was back to normal, but it turns out his condition worsened!

Aaron regretted it a bit, thinking Elbert might have mental issues. He should have noticed when Elbert made his first imaginary call.

Ronan, being straightforward, spoke up. "Elbert, do you realize what you're saying? 3 trillion dollars? Do you know my brother's position?"

"Such a large-scale fund transfer within Veridiania would require the documents to be on his desk for him to sign!"

"You young folks!"

"It's fine to show off in front of elders, but at least be realistic!"

"Oh man, I can't help you out of this one. 3 trillion dollars! I don't even know how to cover for you!"

Elbert nodded slightly and bowed to Aaron. "Mr. Clark, we really need your help with the signature. We're on a tight schedule."

Aaron was at a loss for words. He thought for a long time, feeling helpless.

"Huh?"

"What's that?"

At that moment, Dennis stretched his neck, looking at a car in the distance. A sleek black Rolls-Royce was parked by the roadside. Its long body made it difficult to fit into the remaining spot.

Suddenly, blue lights illuminated the bottom of the Rolls-Royce, and dust flew up. The car silently hovered about two feet off the ground, slowly gliding into the spot.

"Magnetic levitation?"

"No, that's not it!"

"There are no electromagnetic coils on the ground!"

Dennis's eyes lit up. "Is it air suspension technology? That's impressive!"

Just then, the Rolls-Royce door opened, and an electric step extended. A tall, blonde young man in a white suit stepped out. His spotless shoes hadn't touched the ground when a dark floating disk separated from the car.

The blonde young man stepped onto the disk, hovering a foot off the ground, and slowly approached the smart store. Several bodyguards in black suits followed him out of the car.

"Oh my God!"

"What is that?"

"A mini flying device!"

Everyone stared at the futuristic-looking young man, mouths agape. Dennis ran towards the Rolls-Royce, examining the car's undercarriage with curiosity.

A bodyguard in black frowned and returned, "Don't touch it. Can you afford to scratch it?"

He approached and pushed Dennis's shoulder. Suddenly, a man with a glowing purple eye seemed to appear out of thin air, grabbing the bodyguard's hand.

The sound of bones being crushed came from the bodyguard's hand. The man in white frowned. "You still want to fight?"

The bodyguard's face contorted. "His dirty hands touched Mr. Moore's car!"

With a loud noise, the three bodyguards who had gone to the store quickly returned, surrounding Elbert. "Who dares to cause trouble? Let him go!"

Dennis stuck out his tongue. "Oops, caused trouble!"

"Do you know how much that car is worth?"

The three bodyguards shouted angrily. Dennis shook his head slightly. "I wasn't talking about the car, I meant you guys."

"We're causing trouble?"

"You guys are the ones who can't see!"

Elbert slowly clasped his hands behind his back, speaking in a deep voice. "If I weren't here, this kid would be hurt."

"Hurt?"

"I'll hit him, so what? No manners!"

The bodyguards glared angrily.

"Manners?"

Elbert's eyes filled with rising anger. "Dennis, give me a reason!"

"Violent Bear, they didn't queue up!"

"Exactly!"

In the next moment, shadows flickered. No one saw how the young man in white moved, but the four bodyguards flew into the air one by one.

They landed perfectly at the end of the queue, headfirst, looking like they were lining up, but upside down.

Elbert seemed unsatisfied, frowning. "And this car!"

"This isn't a parking spot!"

Elbert raised his leg and kicked the Rolls-Royce. It slid across the street, landing in the parking lot opposite. Though it was in a spot, the tires exploded, the doors were deeply dented, and the alarm lights flashed wildly!
