Chapter 349 Frankenstein
Inside the Lab Graveyard, Elbert gently set down the mechanical dog.
He noticed Dennis sitting at the desk, staring blankly.
Elbert knew Dennis had taken a hard hit and would need time to bounce back.
Just as Elbert pondered how to comfort him, there was a commotion.
"Ouch! It hurts!" A sudden voice came over.
A figure, bandaged on the head and chest, one arm in a cast, slowly wheeled in.
It was Quentin.
He’d been injured but had weathered it well and wasn't seriously harmed.
When the Wavehaven SWAT team arrived earlier, they'd treated him right away.
He'd even borrowed a wheelchair from them.
Pushing the wheelchair was the striking lady in the red dress, Trinity.
"Ouch! It hurts!" Quentin winced, "That young punk didn't play fair!"
"I let my guard down and got hurt by him!"
Witnessing this scene, Dennis managed a faint smile.
Quentin’s antics were too comical; he always had a flair for the dramatic!
Elbert couldn’t help but grin, knowing Quentin was just trying to lift everyone’s spirits, and said, "Aren’t you going to thank Brother Quentin? He got hurt protecting you."
"I don't want to thank him; he stole my cookies once."
Dennis pouted.
"Uh, about that..."
Quentin was immediately flustered.
With a sigh, Elbert said, "What about little dog Coco 2.0? It's busted now."
Dennis glanced at the mechanical dog.
At that moment, the little dog Coco 1.0 was circling 2.0, seemingly worried about its bigger counterpart!
Dennis looked concerned, "Little dog Coco 2.0 is so pitiful!"
"What?”
“I’m not even as good as a dog?"
Quentin was completely exasperated!
Elbert saw a chance and gently said, "You don't have to go to school for the next few days. I’ll give you a shot at fixing little dog Coco. You can use any equipment in this room!"
"Really?" Dennis’s eyes sparkled!
Elbert nodded, "I need to stay here and work on some things too."
Dennis leaped off the desk, suddenly full of energy!
An hour later.
Outside the Lab Graveyard, a caravan of transport vehicles arrived!
These were the gadgets Elbert had ordered online earlier!
He was gearing up to lock himself in and perfect the instrument that could realize the 'cube'!
In the next few days.
Elbert and Dennis hustled side by side in the Lab Graveyard!
Elbert merged bizarre devices while Dennis repaired little dog Coco 2.0!
Trinity handled all daily chores!
Quentin, milking his recovery excuse, stayed inside munching snacks and kicking back!
Right then, Quentin was lounging in his wheelchair, chomping on chips, observing the 'mad scientist' pair, one tall and one small!
"Oh wow, pretty cool!"
He watched as Elbert fused two hefty instruments together, wielding a welding torch and smoothing the seams!
Next, two dark beams shot out from Elbert's sleeve, transforming into wrenches, tweaking and adjusting, making the machine faintly glow!
Turning his gaze, Quentin saw Dennis had fixed the mechanical dog's leg and added a quirky gadget to its mouth!
The mechanical dog opened its mouth and spewed flames!
"Oh wow, this is cool too!"
"Hey, Paul Three, what are you up to?" Quentin exclaimed.
He watched as Elbert grabbed a syringe, drew a vial of blood from Quentin, and quietly returned to the workbench!
"Paul Three, enough already. This is the fifth time you’ve drained my blood!"
"I'm feeling lightheaded!"
"Once I’m back on my feet, I’m gonna get you!"
The blood drawn wasn’t sufficient, and Elbert went back to draw another vial!
"Quentin, pipe down. I'm crafting you into a real expert!"
Elbert didn't elaborate and dove back into his work!
He was using Quentin's blood to test the genetic modification impacts of the 5th stage cube!
Six days later.
BioGen Innovations Hero Academy.
Violet Moon frowned as she looked at the five Veridiania group trainees lined up on the field.
These guys had picked up bad habits from Elbert.
After beating the international group, they had no real challengers. Despite training every day, their motivation waned, knowing they'd graduate eventually!
"I know each of you was recommended by key departments in Veridiania, showcasing the finest of our unmodified youth!"
"But there are always tougher opponents out there. Within Veridiania, you’re far from being the strongest among ordinary folks!"
Gino laughed, "Of course, even together, we can't match one person—our idol, Elbert!"
Violet Moon sighed slightly.
Elbert was a headache, vanishing without a trace for six days.

Sofia mentioned Dennis from Hero Elementary had also been missing for six days!
They really were two of a kind.
Then.
Violet Moon solemnly said, "The seventh member of the Veridiania group you've all been curious about has arrived at the school today!"
"You all have mysterious backgrounds, but hers is even more elusive!"

"And her temper isn’t great either!"
"I suggest you get along with her well to avoid getting thrashed before graduation!"
The five Veridiania group members were stunned!

Violet Moon slightly turned.
Her gaze drifted into the distance!

A figure materialized at the edge of the field!
It was a short-haired girl, around sixteen or seventeen, dressed in black, clutching a large black umbrella, with bangs shading her forehead!
The girl had a delicate face yet emanated a cold, unsmiling demeanor!
Slowly, the girl approached.
The Veridiania group collectively gasped; this girl emanated an eerie vibe!
Silent and cold!
She definitely seemed tough!
The atmosphere grew inexplicably tense!
Suddenly.
A giggle came from behind the girl with the black umbrella!
A face peeked out from behind her!
The face was a 90% match with the girl carrying the black umbrella!
But it was a boy of the same age!
The boy grinned and leaped out from behind the girl with the black umbrella.
He was dressed in white, holding a white umbrella!
The two stood side by side!
They looked like they were cut from the same mold, except one was black and the other white, one male and the other female!
"Hello everyone!"
The boy with the white umbrella waved enthusiastically, “Greetings, I'm Winter. This is my sister, Spring!”
The boy with the white umbrella introduced cheerfully!
The Veridiania group members were stunned!
They all looked at Violet Moon!
Violet Moon shrugged, "When did I ever say the seventh spot was only for one person?"
