Chapter 109
A doorman promptly came over to open their car doors.
Stepping out, Teresa looked up at the distinct three-story villa that would become her new home, feeling an indescribable sense of wonder.
"Do you like it? The villa is now in your name," Gabriel said, wrapping his arm around her tenderly.
The villa was registered in her name.
It was like he was set on giving her a gift every day.
Turning to look at the man beside her, Teresa suddenly smiled. She was curious to see how long Gabriel could keep this up.
"What's making you smile?" Gabriel asked, captivated by her radiant joy.
With a small shake of her head and a press of her lips, Teresa headed toward the villa.
Inside, the villa was empty with just its plain white walls, a blank canvas.
"I've already hired a designer," Gabriel said, his arm still around her, “Whatever you like, that's how we'll decorate our new home."
Teresa nodded, taking a brief tour of the ground floor before heading up to the other levels.
No matter where she stood, whether it was the view, the natural light, or the breeze, everything was beyond criticism. Teresa was enamored with it all.
"Let's meet the designer tomorrow," Gabriel suggested once they reached the top floor, “We can look at the plans and decide how to proceed. How does that sound?"
"Interior design can be such a hassle, you're not seriously considering dumping it all on me, are you?" Teresa pouted as she glanced at him, her eyes imbued with a hint of playful coquetry.
The pair stood on the balcony, and Gabriel turned toward the lovely, bright-eyed woman just an arm's reach away. His lips curled into a sudden, contented smile.
Only the heavens could fathom the sheer joy and bliss filling his heart at that moment.
"Of course not, my dear. I'm at your beck and call," Gabriel said, his long fingers reaching out to gently lift her chin before he leaned down to capture her lips in a kiss.
As Teresa gazed at the increasingly handsome and captivating face drawing closer, she slowly closed her eyes and began to reciprocate his affection.
Feeling her respond, Gabriel's heart surged with elation. He pulled her closer into his embrace, his kiss growing more passionate and profound. He wished he could devour her there and then, leaving nothing behind...
Their fervent kiss seemed to stretch on indefinitely, only coming to an end when Teresa's breathing became completely disordered, finding it hard to catch her breath. Gabriel slowly, and with some reluctance, released her, resting his forehead against hers as he whispered huskily, "Darling, I can't hold back any longer, what should I do?"
Sensing the intense change in him, Teresa's heart pounded fiercely. She turned her blushing face away, muttered "Do it yourself," shoved him aside, and strode off without daring to look back.
She feared she couldn't restrain herself either.
Watching her hastily retreat, Gabriel couldn't help but chuckle, a low, helpless laugh filled with intense satisfaction.
Without paying further heed to Gabriel, Teresa wandered around the villa for a while. When she came downstairs, he was already standing by the car, waiting for her.
Their eyes met for a fleeting moment, and Teresa's recently steadied heartbeat began to accelerate once again. Hurriedly, she averted her gaze and got into the car.
After they both settled into the vehicle and it started to move off, Gabriel's cell phone rang. He glanced at the screen before answering the call.
Sitting beside him, Teresa knew he was handling business matters. She didn’t interrupt, instead, pulling out her own phone, she checked messages and casually browsed through updates.
Gabriel's call was a lengthy one, and after Teresa had finished with her messages and scrolled through her friends' updates, curiosity led her to open Twitter.
The trending topics caught her eye. The third one was startling: "Dakota shares intimate photo with boyfriend Gabriel."
A slight furrow formed between Teresa's brows as she clicked to take a closer look...
Dakota's Twitter post from just 30 minutes ago skyrocketed to number three on the trending list before anyone saw it coming. Was it Dakota's allure or Gabriel's popularity that fueled this frenzy? Or could it be that the pairing of these two was just too eye-catching to ignore?
In the post, Dakota shared two pictures. The first showed the silhouettes of the two on an anonymous foreign street, Dakota's arm wrapped around Gabriel's, their bodies pressed together in a pose that screamed "love-struck couple." The second photo featured a pair of hands intertwined, each adorned with a matching couple’s ring, silent, yet potent symbols of their bond.
Dakota's caption, "The days I miss most," was coupled with the absence of Gabriel's face in the photos. Yet, everyone seemed to agree, the man in those glimpses had to be Gabriel.
Teresa studied the back of the man, an all-too-familiar sight. It was indeed the jerk sitting beside her this very moment, gabbing on the phone, all the while holding onto one of her hands.
She glanced down at his hand, making a mental note to compare it to the large paw displayed in Dakota's post. His hand was big, fair, and clean with long, neatly trimmed fingers, distinct knuckles, an attractive hand, seeming to match the one in the picture, except for the different ring.
Impulsively, Teresa snatched her hand away, wiping it on her clothes as if contaminated.
Gabriel, who had been deep in conversation, felt the absence as his call ended. Turning to Teresa, he instantly sensed her mood shift. Knowing she had been on her phone just moments before, Gabriel felt a chill as he recognized the change in her demeanor.
"Here, look!" Teresa said coolly, handing over her phone.
