Chapter313

The reinforced car windows shattered one by one. Yvonne, the driver, and the bodyguards suddenly found themselves facing the barrels of guns pressed against their foreheads. They were forcefully pulled out of the car and swiftly taken away in another vehicle.

Yvonne's face was as pale as a ghost, and she screamed and protested continuously. But soon enough, her mouth was gagged, and she was pulled into the car.

After Yvonne and her associates were taken away, a tow truck immediately arrived to haul off their shattered vehicle. Even though pedestrians witnessed the whole ordeal, not a single one dared to say a word, fearing trouble. They quickly dispersed.

Inside the car, Yvonne's hands and feet were tied, and her mouth gagged, yet she continued to struggle furiously.

The bodyguards ignored Yvonne's protests. They confiscated everyone's cell phones, forcefully unlocking them using their fingerprints, and promptly began to search through their call logs and messages. Then, they reported their findings to Liam.

After hearing the report, Liam commanded in a stern voice, "Bring them back to the mansion."

"Yes, Liam."

"Mmm... Mmm..."

Hearing that her kidnapper was Liam himself, Yvonne's complexion turned even paler, her struggles and muffled screams growing more frantic.

She had just been saying that Liam hadn't shown any signs of action, and now, he was making a bold move, kidnapping her.

Could it be that he already knew she was behind Lauren's strings?

That would mean the Garcias also knew that it was her orchestrating Lauren to grievously wound Teresa.

The thought made Yvonne tremble uncontrollably.

Despite the decades of maternal bond and upbringing she had provided Liam, she thought that even if she had made a mistake, he wouldn't really harm her.

But the Garcia family, particularly Gabriel, was a different story.

Yvonne had heard that when Dakota had set a trap for Teresa, Gabriel had someone feed Dakota glass shards just to extract the truth. Dakota's tongue and face were almost destroyed.

And to think, Dakota was Gabriel's childhood sweetheart his mother and Katherine were as close as two peas in a pod.

Even so, Gabriel was able to take such a brutal stand against Dakota. What would he be capable of doing to her?

In order to prevent the Clintons from coming to Dakota's rescue, Gabriel had made a fierce declaration that anyone who dared to help Dakota would be completely obliterated.

Back when she was the reigning lady of the Evans household, the Garcias had barely spared her a glance. But now, her ties with the Evans clan had long since severed, and her own family wouldn't dare cross the Garcias for her sake.

So, was she doomed?

No, she refused to accept defeat. She hadn't lived a good life long enough that surrender was not an option. What could she do? She had to come up with a plan. She simply must.

...

At the Evans estate, Tyler and his son Liam were already waiting for Yvonne.

Yvonne and her entourage were dragged out of the car and thrown before father and son upon their return to the mansion.

Yvonne noticed that it wasn't just the three of them who were tied up. Her trusted butler and several security staff from her villa were also bound and kneeling on the floor.

Seeing his former wife of over thirty years, rage and loathing were palpable on Tyler's face.

Her actions could cause untold turmoil in the Evans Group's stock.

Liam looked at the woman, once his mother, with detachment. His face showed no anger or hatred, just cold indifference. It was as if she meant nothing to him, like a stray animal on the streets.

Yvonne was a mess, bound hand and foot, writhing miserably at the feet of the two men, her muffled cries pleading for mercy.

Tyler glanced at her indifferently, and without acknowledgment, he merely commanded, "Release everyone except Yvonne."

"Yes, sir." The security complied, swiftly unbinding the others and removing the tape from their mouths.

In this moment of control, surrounded by the Evans' men, no one dared to make a move. They all meekly bowed their heads, silently awaiting their fate.

"Listen up, everyone," Tyler declared with an imposing stare that swept over Yvonne's cronies, his voice resonating with command, "Yvonne's finished. Even if we, the Evans family, don't deal with her, the Garcias certainly won't let her off the hook. If you want to leave this place unharmed and live a peaceful life with your families, spill everything Yvonne has done—all of it. Once that's done, I assure you safe passage and a generous severance of a hundred grand each."

Tyler's words struck fear into the hearts of those present, sending shivers down their spines.

They weren't fools. With Yvonne's downfall apparent, clinging to her secrets made no sense. Their very lives and the safety of their families were at stake.

Yvonne lay collapsed on the floor, eyes blazing with unprecedented malice and hatred, glaring daggers at Tyler and his son Liam while she struggled, resisted, and tried to cry out in vain—but Tyler couldn't have cared less even to glance her way.

"Sir, I'll talk!" Yvonne's butler, who the Evans had taken, knew better than anyone the brutality of the Garcias. So he was the first to switch sides, shedding his loyalty to the fallen Yvonne—whom he had once advised against targeting Teresa to no avail.

Now, with Yvonne caught and the Evans father and son eager for her demise, how could the Garcias possibly forgive her?

"Good, very good," Tyler nodded in satisfaction, settling back into the sofa and focusing on Yvonne's butler, "Spill it. You spill everything, and you get paid."

"Yes, sir," the butler replied, nodding. He proceeded to unravel Yvonne's sordid deeds from the past months.

...

Teresa's surgery at the hospital lasted nearly six hours. Finally, after an anxious wait, she was wheeled into the VIP intensive care unit.

Gabriel sat by the hospital bed, taking Teresa's icy hands into his own, heart aching as he gazed upon her pallid face, still lost in unconsciousness.

"Gabriel, you haven't finished your treatment for today. Maybe you should..." Katherine's voice was heavy with concern as she stood beside him, watching his anguished expression. She was about to suggest he return to General Hospital to complete his treatment when Mason gestured for her to drop the subject.

At this moment, Gabriel would have given anything to stay with Teresa.
