Chapter 621 Miserable
The next day, at the Bennett office building, in the CEO's office on the top floor, knowing that William had returned, Michelle deliberately took a few financial reports to report to him.
She asked, "William, I heard that Jasper and Hayden's wedding is in two days. When are we leaving to attend their wedding?"
It had been exactly twelve days since she had last seen William.
First, he went to Imperial Capital for a meeting, then came back and stayed at the Bennett family villa. After that, he went abroad again and returned to stay at the Bennett family villa.
During these twelve days, only she knew how lonely and bored she felt living alone in that huge apartment every night when it was quiet and still.
She had truly had enough of these days.
However, her resentment didn't show on her face at this moment. After discussing business, she smiled and changed the subject.
"I don't plan on going, and you don't need to go either," William replied coldly without even looking up.
"When we got engaged, both Jasper and Hayden were there. It doesn't seem right for us not to attend their wedding, does it?" Michelle continued to smile at him.
"Are you still not going to sign the documents?" Suddenly, William raised his eyes and looked at Michelle with a deep gaze, then coldly changed the topic.
"Why should I sign?" Michelle looked at him and asked back, "Are you so anxious because you want to compete with Jasper for Hayden?"
Glancing at her, William smirked but didn't say anything, then continued to lower his eyes and look at the documents.
Seeing him like this, ignoring her once again, Michelle suddenly couldn't hold back her anger anymore and burst out, questioning, "William, what do you want from me? How do you want me to let go? I just love you, is it wrong to love you?"
"You're not wrong," William raised his head and looked at Michelle again. "I am the one who is wrong, so I ask you to let go, for your sake and for mine."
"Are you determined not to marry me?" Michelle looked at him, tears streaming down her face instantly.
"Michelle, you're excellent. Why should someone as excellent as you marry a man who not only doesn't love you but even dislikes you? Why torture each other?" Helplessly, William sighed as he looked at her.
"Then why did you agree to be with me in the first place, and why did you get engaged to me?" Michelle continued to cry and question.
"So I was wrong. I am willing to compensate you in other ways. Besides the 3% stake in the Bennett family company, what else do you want?" William looked at Michelle's tearful and aggrieved expression calmly.
Looking at him, Michelle suddenly stopped crying and mocked, "Does marrying me really make you so miserable? Are you willing to give up billions just to end our relationship?"
Without hesitation, William nodded and answered, "Yes."
A simple 'yes' finally made Michelle completely collapse.
She knew that in order to prevent her from provoking or hurting Hayden again, William even had people secretly follow her.
That was why he arrived so quickly when she went to the hospital to see Hayden.
"Okay, I can sign the documents." Looking at William, Michelle closed her eyes, stopping the tears in her eyes. "But I have one condition."
William nodded. "Go ahead."
"Unless I voluntarily leave the Bennett company, you cannot use any means to force me to leave." This was Michelle's final wish for William.
Without hesitation, William nodded again. "Of course! I will announce publicly that, we are canceling the engagement due to me."
"And this news must be released after Hayden and Jasper's wedding," Michelle requested again.
William nodded. "Don't worry, I will consult you before releasing it."
"Okay." Looking at him, Michelle suddenly felt a sense of relief. "I will bring signed documents to you."
William said, "Okay."
