Chapter 422 William and Hayden (23)
Captivated by the unexpected bliss of their first kiss, Hayden eagerly matched William's rhythm, yearning for more.
William, too, was surprised by Hayden's genuine passion, akin to a flaming rose, overwhelming his self-control and plunging him into the depths of desire. His hands roamed freely; every nerve tensed as if denying himself more would cause his body to explode.
However, just as he was about to tear away the last of Hayden's constraints, a shred of reason snapped him back to reality, halting all his movements in an instant.
Hayden lifted her head, opening her eyes, her gaze hazy and shimmering as she moved in once again, teasingly pecking his lips.
"Hayden…" William's eyes, ablaze with intensity, locked on the woman within his reach. His husky and seductive voice made her heart race, "Are you serious?"
"And you?" she countered, eyes fixed on his.
Taking a deep breath and then exhaling slowly, William tried to suppress the explosive thoughts racing through his mind as he slowly readjusted her partially removed shirt.
As he did so, Hayden flashed a mischievous smile and, with her cool hand, slipped it unexpectedly past the barrier of his pants, closing her fingers...
It felt as though his very soul had been grasped tightly. William's eyes widened in an instant, his pupils constricted as if about to shatter.
"Hayden…"
"I am serious..." - Serious.
Before Hayden's final "really" even finished hanging in the air, William's head had already descended once more, capturing her lips in his in a passionate kiss. Without a moment's hesitation, he scooped her up horizontally and, with a sense of urgency, strode toward the bedroom.
Upon reaching the edge of the expansive bed, he placed Hayden down with the utmost care and gentleness, his lips brushing against hers like a soft, drizzling rain. With a voice low and huskily sensual, he whispered so tenderly, "If it hurts, you tell me."
Hayden looked up into the eyes of the man hovering only inches above her, feeling as though she had become a cloud in the sky, her whole being light and airy.
Entranced as if under a spell, she nodded, emitting a soft "mmm" through her nose, and leaned up to eagerly meet William's kiss, slowly sinking into the powerful vitality of his body...succumbing completely...
...
A profound tranquility settled over the vast bedroom, punctuated only by their labored breathing, when William, usually so composed in the face of adversity, was suddenly flustered.
It dawned on him that he had unwittingly taken Hayden's first time.
"Does it hurt?" he asked with great concern, seeing Hayden with her eyes closed and chest heaving. Gently, he brushed away a few damp strands of hair from her face, which were sticky with sweat and stuck at the corner of her mouth.
She had clenched her eyes shut and bitten down hard on her teeth throughout, her small face half-buried in a pillow, not uttering a single cry.
Damn it; he had been so absorbed in his pleasure; he completely overlooked her feelings.
William truly wished he could slap himself across the face at that moment.
Hayden kept her eyes shut until her breathing gradually steadied. Only then did she slowly open them, gazing up at him, her eyes damp and irresistibly captivating. Suddenly, her lips curved into a smile. "I'm so hungry. Did you have dinner?"
Watching her bright eyes, William smiled and gently kissed her lips. "You lay here for a bit. I'll go cook."
"Okay," Hayden murmured, closing her eyes once again.
Gazing at her, William leaned down for another kiss on her forehead before getting out of bed; he grabbed some clothes from the walk-in closet and headed to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
Only after his footsteps faded Hayden slowly opened her eyes once more.
Although painful, her first time was nowhere near as unbearable as she had imagined, especially toward the end when she felt the euphoria of being lifted into the clouds again.
William was truly tender and attentive to her.
However, William must have been far from a novice, judging by how skilled and experienced he seemed in these matters.
She surely wasn't his first woman.
Buzz, buzz.
Suddenly, her phone that lay dropped on the floor vibrated twice. Hayden turned her head to see that it was a message on Skype from Gu Min.
Wrapped in her blanket, she got out of bed, grabbed her phone, and snuggled into the nearby couch, tapping her screen to bring it to life.
Isabella had sent a file, along with a voice message.
"Hey Hayden, you've struck gold, you know? This William guy, only twenty-five, is currently the CEO of Queen's Avenue Dining Group in River North City. Ever since he took charge, the company has seen rapid expansion, its assets multiplying several times. Talk about a young achiever! And get this. He's never had a girlfriend, not even a hint of a scandal. You have to move fast, girl. Others shouldn't snatch away a catch like him."
She instantly tapped the voice message and brought the phone to her ear, Isabella's excited shrieks filling her eardrums.
Hayden listened. She was speechless.
Finishing the message, she opened the file sent by Isabella, packed with details about William.
The Bennett family started as inhabitants of a modest fishing village in a small coastal town. They owned a fair amount of land, and about a decade ago, a major developer took an interest in their city and bought it to create a resort. Hence, the Bennett family made a substantial amount of money, which they invested in starting their seafood restaurant.
With savvy management, their restaurant's success snowballed, leading to a chain of eateries and the birth of Queen's Avenue Dining Group, which spread its enterprise into various sectors of the dining industry.
William's family background was straightforward; his parents were loving and worked together harmoniously. He had a sister, who was six years his junior and who was also quite accomplished.
A graduate of a top domestic university, William worked for three years for Queen's Avenue Dining Group before heading to London to further his studies. Nevertheless, he continued serving as the CEO of Queen's Avenue Dining and, upon his arrival in London, expanded the business across Europe, opening distinctive restaurants in major cities. These restaurants became wildly popular.
While attending business school, he not only studied diligently and managed Queen's Avenue Dining but also interned at Global Trust Bank, quickly becoming a favorite among its senior management.
So, it came as no surprise when William sat among the panelists during this afternoon's job interview.
William had always been a model student from elementary through college, excelling in every subject and even hailed as the jack-of-all-trades at school. Countless girls were after him, but he never dated any of them. After taking over as CEO of Queen's Avenue Catering, he kept an even lower profile, with no scandals involving women ever surfacing, especially after moving to London, where he was utterly committed to work and self-improvement.
Hayden's brows furrowed as she looked through the information Isabella had sent.
Could a man be as perfect as the one described in these documents? And what were the odds that she would encounter him?
With a faint smile, Hayden couldn't help but laugh to herself.
Why had she been so impulsive tonight, seeking out William and offering herself to him? Was it because she thought he was a good man?
No, they had only known each other for a few days.
She hardly knew anything about William at all.
Her sudden move wasn't about attraction; it was to prevent her purity from being tarnished by anyone from The Johnson family.
Instead of being soiled by someone from The Johnson family, she'd rather sleep with a homeless man.
So, her pursuit of William wasn't out of love but as an act of rebellion against his father.
Yes, that was it.
"Got it, thanks," Hayden replied briefly after going through the info. She locked her phone screen and placed it on the sofa before standing up and heading to the bathroom.
After a quick wash-up, she emerged to pick up her clothes from the floor and noticed that several buttons on her shirt were missing, rendering it unwearable for now.
Since she couldn't wear it, she went to the walk-in closet to find something else for the time being.
To her surprise, upon entering the closet, she found the outfit she had soiled with soup that morning now hanging in the most conspicuous place, clean and neatly pressed.
She had assumed that William had bought her a new set and discarded the stained one.
Unexpectedly...
Involuntarily, a sweet smile of happiness spread across Hayden's lips as she took the clothes down and put them on.
After getting dressed, she hadn't even reached the kitchen when the rich aroma of cooking rice wafted toward her.
She slowed her steps, making her way to the kitchen.
Reaching the corner where the living room met the dining area, she stopped, finding herself in a spot that gave a clear view into the kitchen.
William stood at the stove preparing soup, a picture of upright grace. His shirt sleeves were rolled up, revealing strong and pale forearms.
Memories of their recent tangle sent Hayden's breath and heartbeat skittering out of rhythm once again.
In bed, William had possessed a wild virility that was just as enchanting as the elegance and atmosphere he exuded while cooking.
Hayden, leaning against the kitchen corner, found herself mesmerized by the sight of him.
Feeling a pair of eyes on him as he stirred the soup, William turned to look.
Their eyes locked, and in a fleeting moment, he flashed a crooked smile and asked, in a deep, husky voice, "Do you like it spicy?"
Hayden snapped back to reality and felt her cheeks flush even more. The natural rosy hue deepened under his gaze.
