Chapter 635 Hope for Miracles
John accompanied the child and talked for a while. When he inadvertently looked up, his gaze unexpectedly met the eyes of Hayden, who had been quietly watching the father and son trio outside the door.
Seeing that John finally noticed her, Hayden smiled lightly and walked in.
"I didn't expect you to be so good with children. Even the way you hold them is so correct," Hayden remarked.
John glanced at her, gently placed Chloe down from his arms, and said casually, "It's not difficult. Just hold them a few times, and you'll naturally get the hang of it."
Hayden nodded as she watched him. "It seems like Chloe and Logan both really like you."
After setting Chloe down and making her comfortable, John looked at Hayden and asked, "Is bringing the children here just a spontaneous idea, or will they be visiting the Bennett family frequently in the future?"
Hayden shook her head, "I'm not sure."
"How can you be sure then?" John inquired.
With a sudden smile, Hayden replied, "By watching you."
John met her gaze, understanding the implication in her words, but chose not to respond directly. Instead, he shifted the conversation towards how long Chloe and Logan would stay.
"Not too sure about that either," Hayden replied, rubbing her temple. "After I return from my business trip to the Kingdom of Azurea, I will come to River North."
John raised an eyebrow and smiled at her, "Alright! I will take good care of Chloe and Logan."
Hayden smiled back, "I know that. I've never worried about it."
"By the way, Chloe and Logan usually wake up around six in the morning. After waking up, they should be bathed first, then fed milk, taken for a walk in the garden to enjoy the morning sun. After they wake up from their nap in the afternoon, give them milk, and after five in the evening, take them out for some activity." Hayden carefully detailed their daily routine, looking after the two lively children.
John nodded, "I'll remember that. Anything else?"
"Don't overdress them. Just dress them as you would dress yourself, or they might get heat rashes," Hayden added.
John nodded again and promised, "Got it."
"They have started the habit of sucking their hands, so make sure their hands are clean," Hayden reminded.
John smiled, nodded in agreement, and said, "Got it."
Hayden looked at him, enchanted by his gentle and warm demeanor, reluctant to disrupt the moment of peace and joy. It had been a while since John had smiled at her like that.
So, meticulously, she entrusted all matters concerning Chloe and Logan to John.
John, with his deep and starry gaze, elegantly nodded in agreement, understanding every detail.
It was only when a knock at the door interrupted them that they stopped.
Turning his head, John saw Sophia and Robert at the door.
"Are you two hungry? It's time for lunch," Sophia asked as she looked at them.
"Uncle and Hayden are going to have lunch. Grandma and I will stay with the little ones," Robert said, running into the nursery and marveling at the two children in the crib with wide eyes.
"I've remembered everything you said," John said, glancing at Sophia and the three children. "Let's go downstairs for lunch."
"Alright," Hayden agreed, smiling, and then turned to Sophia and Robert, "Aunt, Robert, let's head down."
"Okay, hurry up, the food will get cold," Sophia nodded lovingly.
"Uncle and Hayden are going to have lunch. Grandma and I will take care of the little ones," Robert said, pushing John out.
John smiled and left with Hayden, heading downstairs.
After lunch, Hayden didn't linger at the Bennett family and decided to leave after checking on the sleeping Chloe and Logan. John didn't say anything, just accompanied everyone to see Hayden off at the door. He stood there, watching Hayden get into the car.
"Bro, why don't you go and see Hayden off?" Teresa stood beside John, nudging him and whispering.
However, John seemed not to hear her at all, completely ignoring her, and continued to gaze at Hayden.
As Hayden got into the car and rolled down the window to bid farewell, she inadvertently met John's gentle and deep gaze.
Looking at him, Hayden smiled lightly and waved goodbye before instructing the driver to leave.
Although John didn't say anything to her and showed no intention of accompanying her to the airport, his softened gaze was enough to satisfy her.
"William, Hayden is a woman. She has taken this step. Can't you also take a step forward and be more proactive?" After Hayden's car disappeared from view, Sophia looked at John, her words filled with meaning. "Not for anything else, but for Chloe and Logan, for us to see our grandchildren more often, to live a few more years. Can you do that?"
Teresa stood by, watching Sophia, then John, waiting for his response.
After keeping his eyes on Hayden's departing car, John glanced at Sophia, nodded faintly, uttered a simple "I know," and then turned and went inside to be with Chloe and Logan.
"What do you know?" Sophia intended to follow up and ask him what he meant by those three words.
"Mom," Teresa quickly held her back, "What he meant is that he can fulfill your wishes."
"Really?" Sophia's face lit up.
"Yes," Teresa nodded with a smile, "There is hope this time."
Sophia clapped her hands excitedly, "That's wonderful."
After leaving the Bennett family, Hayden didn't stay long in River North. She boarded the Bush family's private plane and flew to the Kingdom of Azurea.
However, as soon as she boarded the plane, she found herself thinking of Chloe and Logan, but more so of John.
This trip to the Kingdom of Azurea would last at least a week. Hayden hoped that during this week, miracles would happen.
Perhaps, feeling content after having her wishes fulfilled, she leaned back in the comfortable leather seat and gradually drifted off to sleep. Everything in her dream seemed so beautiful and sweet that a faint smile of happiness gradually appeared on her lips.
