Chapter 587 Not So Lucky
Around eight o'clock in the evening, Jasper was playing card games with some friends at a club, accompanied by two attractive women.
Suddenly, his phone started vibrating in his pocket.
He took out his phone and saw that it was actually Hayden calling.
What was Hayden calling him about at this time? Frowning and pondering, Jasper saw Jasper sneer, get up and leave the private room. A beautiful woman beside him was holding onto him, but he shook her off directly.
"Hayden, what's up with you today? You actually called me?" Jasper answered the phone in a quiet place, teasingly in a good mood.
"Jasper, you said that as long as I dare to marry you, you dare to marry me. Is that promise still valid?" On the other end of the phone, Hayden leaned back on the hospital bed, smiling, and asked earnestly.
Jasper listened, his hand holding the phone trembling uncontrollably, the phone almost slipping from his grasp.
"Hayden, do you really believe that?" Jasper asked somewhat reluctantly after pondering her words for a few seconds.
Hayden chuckled softly on the other end of the phone and questioned, "What, are you scared?"
Jasper listened to her words, furrowing his brow suddenly. After a moment of thought, he asked, "Where are you right now? Let's talk in person."
“River North。”
"Alright, I'm heading out now." With those words, Jasper hung up the phone, not bothering to respond to the people in the private room, and left straight for the airport.
Imperial Capital and River North are the most bustling first-tier metropolises in the country. There are dozens of flights shuttling back and forth between the two metropolises twenty-four hours a day, so even if it's late, Jasper doesn't have to worry about not having a flight to River North.
The Hart family had a long-term cooperation contract with the airline and were considered VVIP clients. Sometimes, entire flights were delayed just to accommodate VVIP clients like the Hart family.
So, after arriving at the airport, Jasper went straight to the VIP lane, boarded the plane, and flew to River North.
The flight time from Imperial Capital to River North was approximately two and a half hours.
When the plane landed at River North International Airport, it wasn't yet early morning. Jasper took out his phone to call Hayden, and Hayden answered right away.
"Where are you?"
Listening to Jasper, Hayden was not surprised at all and replied with a smile, "The hospital."
Jasper furrowed his brow and said, "Send me the address, I'll head over there now."
"Okay." On the other end of the phone, Hayden agreed. After hanging up, she sent her location to Jasper.
Perhaps due to having rested enough during the day, she surprisingly felt no sleepiness at this moment.
Looking at her current situation, she definitely couldn't hold on for much longer. In that case, before the baby is born, she had to sort out the major issues and find a good father for the child.
Although she didn't want to implicate Jasper either, after much thought, she just couldn't find a more suitable candidate than Jasper.
Of course, if Jasper is truly willing to marry her and be a father to her two children, she will definitely make sure to compensate Jasper and The Hart family well.
The airport was quite a distance from the hospital. When Jasper arrived, it was already an hour later.
Watching Hayden lying on the hospital bed, his belly noticeably larger and his expression not looking good, Jasper sighed deeply and pulled a chair over to sit by the bedside.
“Why did you suddenly decide to marry me?” Jasper asked directly, looking at Hayden.
He and Hayden practically grew up together, and they could discuss the essence of things directly.
Watching him, Hayden smiled, "Because my child may not be long before being born."
"What happened? How come you ended up in the hospital when you were perfectly fine?" Jasper asked, furrowing his brow.
Hayden pursed his lips and raised his eyebrows, saying, "It's just a small matter, I didn't control my emotions well."
"Is it related to William?" Jasper asked further.
If it weren't for the matters related to William, Hayden wouldn't have lost control of her emotions and ended up hospitalized.
Since he had already guessed, Hayden really had no need to hide anything, so he nodded honestly.
Watching her, Jasper suddenly let out a deep sigh.
Hayden chuckled at the sigh, "What are you sighing about? If you don't want to marry me, I won't hold a knife to your neck to force you to marry me."
Watching her with a seemingly relaxed smile on her face, Jasper's brow furrowed deeper all of a sudden. After a moment of hesitation, he said, "There's something you probably don't know yet."
"What's the matter?" Hayden inquired.
Jasper sighed lightly, "Back then, William was being chased and his life was in danger in the Imperial Capital. He called my dad for help."
Immediately, Hayden understood.
After stabbing William, Hall still wanted to kill him.
"At that time, my dad was probably not thinking clearly and asked William to promise him something," Jasper continued, looking at Hayden.
"What did William promise your dad?" Hayden asked urgently.
"He promised that he would never be with you again in the future."
In an instant, Hayden felt as if he had been struck by a strong electric current, leaving him momentarily stunned.
"If my dad hadn't helped William that time, William might have really been in danger." Jasper leaned back against the chair, furrowed his brow, and continued, looking at the stunned Hayden, "I heard that the person who was chasing William back then was Hall."
She knew it was Hall, because she, Hall, wanted to kill William.
It was really her, almost killed William.
“Why are you telling me all this? Just to make me feel guilty?” After staring blankly for over ten seconds, Hayden finally managed to calm down and asked Jasper.
"I'm not sure what exactly happened between you two. I asked William about it, but he never wanted to talk to me about it. However, I do know that William has never truly gotten over you. I can tell. Even though he's with Michelle now, he actually despises Michelle," Jasper continued, looking at her.
Hayden smiled, tears uncontrollably streaming down his face, "Why does he still torture himself like this?"
Jasper raised an eyebrow and shook his head. "I don't know, but it definitely wasn't to get back at you. William isn't that kind of immature person."
Hayden listened, then suddenly smiled, wiped the tears off his face, and said, "After all that chatter, you still haven't told me, do you really want to marry me?"
Watching her, Jasper was speechless. "If I marry you, then whose last name will our children take?"
"Of course, follow me."
Jasper was upset, "So, don't I have the right to choose?!"
Hayden laughed, "I'll just find a few more kids to share my last name with you in the future."
"Are you pregnant again?!" Jasper furrowed his brow.
Hayden shook his head. "I don't think so. You can have a child with any woman out there, and then we can raise the child together."
"This won't work," Jasper shook his head and sighed, "My children, they need to be born to their biological mother and raised by her."
"Are you unwilling to marry me then?"
Jasper shook his head again. "I need to think about this seriously."
Hayden felt speechless.
"Alright, it's late. You, a pregnant woman with a big belly, should rest soon. Don't stay up late, or your child might end up being a night owl like you," Jasper said as he stood up. He then picked up the chair and placed it back where it belonged. "I'm leaving now. I'll come to see you again tomorrow."
"If you don't marry me, don't bother coming tomorrow," said Hayden coldly.
Jasper looked at her helplessly, not knowing what to say.
Jasper didn't say anything, waved his hand, and left directly.
Watching him leave, Hayden slowly closed her eyes.
"I'm sorry, in the end, we just weren't that lucky."
In a low voice, Hayden smiled with his eyes closed.
William, in this lifetime, are we really destined to be like this, with fate but no connection?
