Chapter 495 William and Hayden (96)

After Jeffrey left, only William and the Driver remained in the car. The driver didn't know what he was up to and didn't dare ask. They could only wait together. Due to the warmth in the car, the Driver started to feel drowsy.

After some time, the half-asleep Driver suddenly heard a voice from the back seat say, "Drive, follow them."

The driver jolted awake and saw Hayden and two other people getting into the black business car in front. He quickly lightly pressed the accelerator and drove out, following the business car in front.

Hayden and Maddox held a meeting in the office of the branch company for about two hours.

This time, she and Maddox came to negotiate and sign the contract, but the project was mainly the responsibility of the branch company.

The meeting ended close to one o'clock. Mr. Blair said that a private room had been reserved in the restaurant to treat Hayden and Maddox to a meal.

Hayden naturally would accept a meal between colleagues, especially since she was indeed hungry.

Her appetite has increased since she got pregnant, especially in the past two weeks.

However, she didn't expect that as soon as she walked a few steps after exiting the elevator in the building, she lifted her gaze and saw the black Mercedes still parked outside through the clear glass wall of the building.

At that moment, her breath caught, and her heartbeat skipped a beat.

She knew that William was a calm and restrained person. He wouldn't act recklessly.

But she was still worried. After she walked out, would William get out of the car and rush over to pull her away?

In that case, how could she make him give up?

Hayden walked out of the building, filled with overwhelming conflict.

However, what she was worried about didn't happen. William didn't get out of the car; he just followed behind them after their car started moving.

She didn't understand what he wanted to do. But the fact that he didn't get out of the car to pull her away already gave Hayden peace of mind.
The car drove directly into the underground garage of the building where the restaurant was located. After their vehicle came to a stop, William's car quickly followed and parked nearby.

"Who are these people in the car? Let's go and see!" Mr. Blair started to feel uneasy when he saw the black Mercedes blatantly following them. He was about to go over there.

"No need!" Hayden quickly stopped him and smiled lightly. "I'm hungry. Let's go upstairs and eat first."

Mr. Blair wasn't foolish. Hayden had stopped him from going to check it out twice. She must have already guessed who was in the car, and the person in the car must have something to do with her.

So, Mr. Blair smiled and said, "Yes, eating first is more important!"

Hayden nodded, and her peripheral vision glanced through the front windshield of the Mercedes, looking in the direction of the back seat. Then, she lifted her leg and walked toward the elevator.

Maddox also looked in the direction of the Mercedes and followed Hayden.

Mr. Blair had reserved a separate VIP private room. Once they entered the private room, Hayden no longer needed to worry about William barging in.

Given that he didn't even get out of the car to stop her, he would never recklessly break into the private room.

However, two additional dishes mysteriously appeared on the table when they finished ordering.

"We didn't order these two dishes." Mr. Blair looked puzzled at the two dishes.

"It's not a mistake. Our manager specially ordered them for you all." The waiter smiled respectfully.

"Are you part of the Queen's Avenue group?" Hayden couldn't help but ask.

"Yes, our restaurant is under the Queen's Avenue group." The waiter answered proudly.

Maddox glanced at Hayden, then at Mr. Blair, and immediately smiled, "Since it's the restaurant manager's order, let's not be polite. Let's start eating."

With that, he picked up his chopsticks, took a piece of beef, and put it into the small bowl in front of Hayden. Hayden thanked him, then picked up her chopsticks and placed the meat into her mouth.

Suddenly, she couldn't control it. Her eyes welled up with tears.

Quickly, she lowered her head even further, desperately trying to control her emotions.

William made this. It tasted the same.

At Southern, these were the two dishes she loved the most.

"Sylvia, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Mr. Blair was always careful with Hayden, afraid of not taking care of her properly and making her unhappy.

So, when he saw her eyes suddenly turn a bit red, Mr. Blair quickly asked.
"It's nothing. Maybe it was too spicy, and she couldn't handle it momentarily." Hayden immediately adjusted her mood. She lifted her head and smiled, her face and eyes showing no trace of unusual emotions.

Maddox, sitting by her side, glanced at her, picked up the teapot, and poured a cup of tea for Hayden. He then instructed the waitstaff next to him, "Bring a glass of juice."

"Sure, what kind of juice would you like, sir?" the server asked.

"Orange juice," Hayden smiled at Maddox and answered the waitstaff.

"Very well, please wait a moment." The server immediately left and soon returned with a large glass of freshly squeezed juice.

Hayden picked it up, took a sip, and immediately confirmed that William had made the orange juice.

She liked it sweet. Every time William squeezed orange juice for her in Southern, he would add a few drops of lemon and a big spoonful of honey.

"You guys go ahead and eat; I'll go to the restroom." After drinking a few sips of orange juice, Hayden made an excuse and got up, walking straight out.

For some reason, all she could think about now was seeing William.

She wanted to see him, almost going wild with the desire to see him.

Last time at The Hart family, he was able to trap her in the restroom. This time, he would be able to do the same.

But she was overthinking. This time, she didn't need to go to the restroom at all.

When she opened the private room door and walked out, she immediately saw William. His fingertips held an unlit cigarette, his suit jacket had been taken off, and he was only wearing a white shirt and a suit vest. He leaned against the opposite wall of the private room, squinting his profound eyes, staring at her steadily.

Her breath caught, and even her heartbeat almost stopped.

Not seeing each other for over a month, he seemed to have gotten thinner again. His warm and gentle gaze seemed the same as before, yet somehow different, more intense, like a black hole that could pull you in if you dared to look at it for too long.

Their gazes intertwined in the air. After three or four seconds, Hayden finally snapped back to reality. The next second, she tried her best to control her emotions and walked toward the restroom as if she hadn't seen William at all.

However, just as she was passing by William, her wrist was suddenly grabbed by a warm hand, pulled forcefully, and she fell into a warm and spacious chest, being led into another vacant private room.

It wasn't until the private room door was closed that Hayden regained her senses and suddenly raised her head.

"You lied to me. Our child is still here, isn't it?" William looked at Hayden, who was close to him, his palm resting on her lower abdomen. His scorching and longing gaze seemed to want to uncover Hayden's secret.
Although it was a question, William was affirmative.
She looked at the handsome face of longing above her head, and Hayden couldn't help but blush, her eyes welling up in an instant.
But she immediately lowered her head again, then forcefully brushed off William's hand on her abdomen, sneering coldly, with a heavy mockery in her voice, "William, who do you think you are? Why should I have a child for you?"
At that moment, Hayden finally understood that seeing each other was worse than not seeing each other.
Because seeing each other would only cause deeper and crueler harm.
"Hayden, when did you become afraid to tell the truth? When did you become fond of foolish communication?" Suddenly, William also got angry uncontrollably.
He didn't ask for anything; he just wanted Hayden to treat him honestly.
But unfortunately, Hayden didn't give it to him.
She quickly adjusted her emotions and raised her head again. In Hayden's eyes, there was only contempt and even scorn. She formed a mocking smirk and retorted, "William, are you worthy?"
