Chapter 608 William, You're So Heartless

The Finance Department of the Bennett Group office building.

It was past ten in the morning when Michelle was busy in her office, Lily appeared at the door with a file bag in her hand.

Everyone knew by now that Michelle was William's fiancée, so it wasn't surprising at all that Lily, the president's chief secretary, would come to see her personally.

Standing at the door of Michelle's office, Lily knocked.

Michelle had already noticed her, and upon hearing the knock, she looked up and immediately smiled. "Lily, come in."

"Michelle." With permission granted, Lily walked in and handed the file bag to Michelle, saying politely, "The CEO asked me to give this to you."

Michelle accepted it and politely said, "Thank you."

"Well, I'll leave you to it," Lily said with a smile.

"Okay, thank you." Michelle nodded. As she watched Lily leave, she opened the file bag and took out the documents inside.

The moment she saw the bold title "Prenuptial Agreement" on the first document, Michelle's expression darkened. Her hand, resting on the desk, quickly clenched into a fist, her beautiful nails digging into her palm without feeling any pain.

Turning over the agreement, it clearly stated William's pre-marital assets, the appreciation of these assets during their marriage, and all profits from investments made using these assets, none of which had anything to do with Michelle.

After marriage, William would only provide her with a monthly living allowance of three thousand dollars.

In other words, besides receiving three thousand dollars a month, Michelle would get nothing else besides the title of his wife.

She wouldn't get William, she wouldn't get William's money, and she certainly wouldn't get his love.

She thought William was truly heartless.

Even if their family's life-saving grace to him twenty-some years ago meant nothing, she had taken that knife for him.

After reading the prenuptial agreement, the second document was the "Bennett Group Shares Transfer Agreement." As William had said last night, if she agreed to break off the engagement and never bother him again, William was willing to transfer 3% of the entire Bennett Group's shares to her.

If she didn't want the shares, William was willing to cash out the 3% of shares at market value, totaling over 200 million.

Over 200 million, compared to a monthly allowance of three thousand dollars and an empty title, anyone would choose the over 200 million.

William was forcing her, forcing her to divorce him willingly.

Fine! She would break off the engagement, but before she did, neither William nor Hayden would have an easy time.

"Hayden, Jocelyn called."

In the hospital, while Hayden was with Chloe and Logan, Melissa came in with her phone and respectfully informed her.

After being brought back to the Imperial Capital, Jocelyn had been confined by Finn in the Bush family residence, forbidden to go anywhere.

Not only that, but Finn had also beaten her nearly to the point of breaking her skin, leaving her bedridden for two days.

After lying in bed for two days, she came to a realization.

Finn didn't like her as a daughter, he only liked Hayden, who could support The Smith. So she had to work hard to please Hayden in order to have a good life in the future.

After all, when Finn passed away, Hayden would be the head of the Bush family.

So, Jocelyn started calling Hayden every day.

However, Hayden never answered once.

Today, when she heard that Jocelyn was calling again, Hayden wasn't planning to answer, but when she remembered what Melissa said about Jocelyn and William having a dispute, she picked up the phone.

"Hayden, I'm sorry, I really know I was wrong! Please don't be mad at me. Don't ignore me, please, Hayden..." The moment the call connected, Jocelyn's tearful and pitiful voice immediately came through.

Listening, Hayden felt no previous sympathy or softness, and directly asked, "Jocelyn, tell me honestly, what exactly did you and William argue about in the stairwell when I was in the operating room?"

"Hayden, why are you suddenly asking about this?" Jocelyn on the other end of the phone was not surprised and asked calmly.

"If you still consider me your sister, then tell me the truth." Hayden's voice was low.

"Because I made you bleed heavily and William was very angry, so he dragged me to the safe passage and gave me a harsh lesson," Jocelyn answered obediently.

Hayden frowned. "Is that all?"

"I was also angry at the time, so I argued with William," Jocelyn said softly.

"How did you argue with William?" Hayden continued to ask.

"I forgot. I was too worried and scared about you at the time. I couldn't control my emotions and said things I can't remember," Jocelyn pitifully replied.

Listening to Jocelyn's starting to sob, Hayden sighed deeply, "Jocelyn, did you really forget, or are you afraid to say?"

"Hayden, I'm sorry, I really forgot!" Jocelyn's voice carried a clear sob again. "I was just angry at William at the time, why did he abandon you, why did he get engaged to another woman, so I said some unpleasant things, but I really forgot what I said."

Hearing Jocelyn's sobs, Hayden relented, "Alright, stop crying. Stay at home until I return. We'll deal with your situation then."

"Hayden, have you forgiven me, right?" Jocelyn sniffled and weakly asked on the other end of the phone.

"I don't know, I'll talk about it after I return." With that, Hayden hung up the phone directly.

She had promised Teresa that she wouldn't change her mind, she would definitely send Jocelyn to Frostpeak Republic to learn to be self-reliant.

However, there was no rush in these few days. She would settle everything after taking Chloe and Logan back to Imperial Capital.

In the evening, Patrick, Sophia, and Teresa came to see Hayden and the children. Patrick and Sophia stayed with the children, while Teresa went for a walk in the garden with Hayden.

To their surprise, shortly after they arrived in the garden, Michelle appeared in front of them.
