Chapter 397 Wishing to Hold Her Close Every Second, To Cherish Her Always

After ending the call with Gabriel, Teresa took a while to calm down. Once she had regained her composure, a sudden thought made her quickly wipe away her tears, and she dialed Mason and Raymond with a smile.

After hanging up, she sat in the car, her emotions still tumultuous and unable to settle down for a long time. The recent events were harrowing but harmless, yet they made her realize profoundly that without Gabriel, she couldn't live.

Her love for Gabriel now surpassed even the love she had for herself. Regardless of what happened in the future, no matter what stood between her and Gabriel, she would never hold back her love from him.

Unconsciously, the car pulled up in front of their cabin and stopped. Luke got out and opened the car door for her.

Teresa stepped out, but instead of entering the cabin, she stood at the door, looking down the road, waiting. "Unity, you should go inside and wait for Gabriel," Luke suggested, looking at her pale and frail appearance with a touch of sympathy.

Teresa shook her head, insisting on waiting outside.

She had only been standing there for a short while when her phone vibrated in her pocket. Pulling it out, she saw an unfamiliar number, but she didn't need to answer faster.

"Honey."

Hearing Gabriel's voice, Teresa's lips and eyes immediately curved into a beautiful, joyous smile. "Darling, I'm at our cabin waiting for you. Where are you?"

"I'm on the highway. Soon, just half an hour, and I'll be home," Gabriel's voice came from the other end, speaking through Jocelyn's phone—he had memorized her passcode while Jocelyn was on a call with Hayden. Now, as he speedily drove, Gabriel tenderly talked to Teresa, "Be good, wait for me in the cabin. Make sure you've eaten, drunk, and are all freshened up, lying in bed waiting for me."

Listening to the man's husky, alluring voice over the phone, Teresa was speechless. Not even half an hour ago, she had been in agony, but now the happiness and sweetness in her heart made her feel as if she were floating on clouds, unreal as a dream.
"No way," Teresa flatly refused, then added, "Raymond just got off the plane. He's on his way to Eastwald. He should be there in about an hour."

"Raymond's coming?" Gabriel furrowed his brow on the other end of the line.

"Yeah! Raymond'sRaymond worries about you. You don't seem too happy to hear this, though."

"Heh..." Gabriel chuckled, "Well, if I'm fine, then there's no need for Raymond to head over to our cabin. I'll call Raymond now. You wait for me."

"You're so undutiful," she replied and promptly hung up.

Gabriel, who was driving seriously, couldn't help but smile contentedly at the dial tone that followed the abrupt end of the call.

Amnesia or not, people's habits remain the same. Teresa always hung up first, just like always.

Quickly, Gabriel called Raymond to explain the situation.

With the reassurance that both Gabriel and Teresa were fine, Raymond felt completely at ease.

Realizing his presence wasn't welcomed at his son and daughter-in-law's cabin, Raymond decided to turn back.

Having sent Raymond back, Gabriel was in high spirits. Despite a few icy and snow-covered patches on the road, he zoomed back to the small town of Eastward in less than an hour.

Teresa had been standing outside the cabin, and when she saw a white sedan approaching in the distance, she knew it had to be Gabriel.

Without a moment's hesitation, she started running in the direction of the white sedan.

In the white Maserati, Gabriel saw the little woman sprinting onto the road and pressed the accelerator even further to race towards her.

As Teresa reached the curb, he slammed on the brakes to stop the car at the side of the road, quickly unbuckled his seatbelt, flung the door open...

"My love!"

Seeing the man exit the vehicle, Teresa let out a joyous shout and ran to him.

Gabriel stepped out of the car, stood before the open door, and, with a smile lifting the corners of his mouth, opened his arms wide.

The next second, like a pure white rabbit, Teresa leaped into his embrace, clambering onto him with arms and legs entwined, her face buried deep in the warm nook of his neck, clinging to him like a sloth.

"My love, my love, my love..." Her face nuzzled against Gabriel's neck, and tears of joy and excitement spilled out. She murmured his name over and over.
The moment Teresa flung herself onto him, crashing into the wounds on Gabriel's body, he seemed to register the pain barely. Instead, he tightened his arms around her, holding her close before bending down to plant a forceful kiss on the crown of her head and her forehead, then murmuring in a husky voice, "How come you feel lighter after just one day without my embrace?"

Teresa looked up at him from the crook of his arm, her eyes red and rabbit-like, glaring at him fiercely. "Don't all you men like slim women?"

Gazing at her, Gabriel's dark eyes gleamed intensely. He leaned down, brushing his forehead against hers, to gently peck her nose and then her dry, colorless lips, "I like my sweetheart with some meat on her bones; the more, the better."

With a mixture of anger and laughter, tears surging again, Teresa spat back playfully, "I'm not a pig that gets better prices the heavier it is."

Gabriel chuckled, kissing her lips once more, "The more my sweetheart has, the better it feels to hold her, and the more I love it."

Teresa pouted, "Well, I don't! What if I get fat, and you don't want me anymore and run off with another woman?"

——What if you don't want me and run off with another woman?

Only heaven knew how shaken Gabriel felt upon hearing Teresa's words.

His silly sweetheart, when had she become so foolish?

She was his treasure, whom he yearned to cherish and keep close at every moment. The thought of not wanting her was unimaginable.

"Sweetheart, I love you!" Overcome with emotion, Gabriel kissed Teresa deeply, his voice a low murmur, "In this life and the next, forever and always, it will only be you that I love......."

Despite the abrasions on Gabriel's face, they did nothing to diminish his handsomeness as Teresa gazed upon him. Moved, she closed her eyes, responding to his kiss.

A distance away, Luke and the other bodyguards witnessed the scene, discreetly averting their gazes.

The deep kiss didn't last long before Teresa was panting, her breath completely out of rhythm.

Feeling her weakness, Gabriel quickly loosened his hold, pressing his forehead to hers. His voice was hoarse with concern: "Have you not been eating or sleeping well without me?"

Teresa's eyes glistened with emotion, still glaring at him, "Is eating and sleeping as important as you?"

With a pleased and contented chuckle, Gabriel responded, kissing her lips again, and as he held her, walking towards the cabin, he softly asked, "What do you want to eat? I'll cook for you now."

"Anything you make, I'll eat."

"Okay," Gabriel nodded, kissing her once more, "After you've eaten, then it's my turn."
"Goddamn him," Teresa seethed, her pale face flushed with anger...
