Chapter 85
But it was futile.
Worried about making too much noise and drawing attention, her fighting spirit cooled after a few moments, and Teresa simply gave in to his dominant and fierce claim.
Feeling Teresa relax yet without any reciprocation, Gabriel broke the kiss, his forehead against hers, his deep eyes ablaze, as he gazed intently at the woman whose breath intertwined with his. "Why the sudden surrender? Hmm?"
“Gabriel, you're nothing but a lowlife and a complete hypocrite. Your word means zilch,” Teresa glared at him, her frustration palpable.
“Ha…” Gabriel chuckled as he gazed at her, amused yet controlled, “Honey, just can't help myself when I see you!”
“Back off!” Teresa shoved him forcefully, then glared at him with a warning, “If anyone finds out about us, you're toast.”
With that, she spun around and marched upstairs, back to where she came from.
“Don't worry, babe, I'll wait for you.” Gabriel watched her fuming departure with great pleasure.
Teresa gave no response.
...
Teresa's second lecture went even better than the first. Relaxed and unburdened, she was marvelous.
After class, a throng of students swarmed her again, bombarding her with an array of questions, academically related or not. They only dispersed when it was time to rush off to their next course.
Once everyone had cleared out, Teresa accompanied the Department Head and fellow teachers back to the office.
On her way out, she shot a glance at Gabriel. He sat motionless amidst the spacious lecture room, his eyes steadfastly fixed on her.
Terry had noticed Gabriel earlier, and gave him a few more looks before leaving.
Gabriel was not one to seek attention, yet Terry recognized him instantly.
It was none other than the heir of Capital Construction and Nebula Consumer Products and Unity’s ex-husband.
So, it wasn't a case of mistaken identity; Unity's ex-husband was now Teresa’s.
Terry was both puzzled and intrigued.
Back in the office, everyone praised Teresa’s lecture. She confirmed her commitment to teaching until her diplomat exams, promising her stay at the school.
An agreement having been reached, Teresa was set to officially begin teaching the next day, and the college would draft a special contract to be signed and processed upon her arrival.
After wrapping up with the Department Head, Teresa stepped out of the administration building; it was already five in the afternoon.
“Teresa, how about a stroll around campus? I could join you,” Terry offered with a smile as they left the office building.
“Teresa.” However, before he could finish, the rear door of a Rolls-Royce parked in front of the building swung open, and a tall, dignified man stepped out, calling out to her.
Teresa glanced sideways and furrowed her brow for an instant.
At that moment, Gabriel had shed his cap and mask, revealing his nearly six-foot-three stature. While he was casually dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt, his commanding presence, aristocratic demeanor, and the Rolls Royce were a spectacle one simply couldn't ignore.
"Your husband?!" Terry blurted out upon noticing, his curiosity piqued as he addressed Teresa.
With a chuckle and diverting the question, Teresa said, "I'm gonna take off, got some stuff to handle. See you tomorrow!" She waved at Terry and strode toward Gabriel.
Gabriel's eyes followed Teresa. As she approached, he reached out and pulled her close into his embrace.
Teresa shot him a playful glare before hustling into the car.
He laughed softly and raised his hand above her head to protect her from bumping into the car roof as she climbed in.
After Teresa was seated, Gabriel shut the door and lifted his gaze, his piercing eyes sweeping over Terry, who stood there frowning. However, Terry did not shy away from the challenging stare.
Once the encounter ended, Gabriel walked around to the other side of the car and got in.
“Can you maybe not have Finley Sackler popping up and scaring me all the time? And you're just as bad,” Teresa complained with a hint of resentment after they set off.
Gabriel chuckled, taking her hand into his warm grasp, unfazed by her attempts to withdraw it.
"He scared you, huh? I'll dock his bonus when I get back," he teased.
Teresa just stared at him, silently fuming.
...
