Chapter 548 William and Hayden

After Hayden returned to her home country following her graduation, the next day, Nico called her, inviting her to dinner at the Hart Manor.

Despite losing memories of the most painful half-year of her life, Hayden remembered Nico as her cousin who had always been close to her and treated her kindly throughout the years.

It had been over a year since Hayden last visited the Hart Manor, and now that she was back in the country, it felt appropriate to pay Nico a visit.

Therefore, she prepared several gifts and arrived at the Hart Manor on time.

Naturally, Jasper was also present.

After graduating smoothly from Southern Business School a year ago, he began assisting his elder brother in managing the company.

Upon seeing him, Hayden noticed that Jasper still carried the laid-back demeanor of a Liam brother, but it was a comforting sight.

In Jasper's lifetime, he seemed best suited to be a laid-back Liam brother. With two capable and loving elder brothers looking after him, Jasper had little to worry about regarding the Hart family's affairs.

Even if their family faced ruin, a situation Mason couldn't handle, Jasper's two elder brothers would manage it, shielding Jasper from the brunt of any impact.

Nico had long been aware of Hayden's amnesia from Jaqueline, but she had never mentioned it to Jasper.

It wasn't until over a year later, when Jasper saw Hayden, that he discovered she had selectively lost her memories, forgetting everything related to William and even the events that transpired at Southern Business School.

Jasper was taken aback, but considering the complexities between Hayden and William, wisely chose not to mention William in Hayden's presence.

In fact, Nico's primary reason for inviting Hayden to the Hart Manor for dinner was to foster favorable feelings between Hayden and Jasper.

Initially feeling regret upon hearing about Hayden's upcoming marriage to Gabriel, Nico now saw an opportunity with their marriage no longer viable.

Hayden understood Nico's intentions, and she conversed and joked with the members of the Hart family throughout the evening.

After dinner, Nico intentionally created a chance for Hayden and Jasper to spend time alone. Jasper had some things he wanted to ask Hayden, so he seized the opportunity and led her to the garden.

In truth, Hayden didn't dislike Jasper at all; in fact, she found their interactions quite comfortable. However, over the years, they had never nurtured romantic feelings for each other and had remained close friends.

"Are you truly unable to recall anything that happened at Southern?" Jasper gazed at Hayden in the garden, asking her directly.

Hayden glanced at him, squinting playfully and seriously, "Please don't tell me what supposedly transpired between us at Southern. Perhaps I disliked you enough to inform my father that I didn't wish to continue studying at Southern Business School."

Chuckling, Jasper nodded, "You did experience quite a bit at Southern."

Frowning, Hayden queried, "What kinds of things happened?"

Jasper looked at her, pondered for a moment, then shook his head with a smile, "Let's forget about it. I sense you're not particularly interested in knowing."

Seeing the profound love shared between Hayden and William, now overtaken by a desperate lie about his death and Hayden's choice to erase all memories between them, Jasper realized it was best not to delve into this matter further. Hayden seemed to be doing well now, and there was no need for his intervention.

Not pressing the issue further, Jasper and Hayden shifted to lighter topics in their conversation.

As their discussion came to a close, Jasper escorted Hayden to her car. Standing at the main entrance of the mansion, he watched her drive away from the Hart Manor until her vehicle vanished from his sight. Jasper's brows furrowed gradually as he pondered.

"Jasper, what did you and Hayden talk about?" Just as Jasper stood in contemplation, a familiar voice called out from behind.

Turning around, Jasper faced Nico and greeted her, "Hello, Nico."

Nico approached with a smile and remarked, "It seems like you and Hayden get along quite well. Keep it up. Utilize your usual charm, and perhaps before long, Hayden will be your wife."

Jasper smiled helplessly, replying, "Nico, if Hayden were to develop feelings for me, she would have done so already, without needing to wait until now."

He could sense that even though Hayden had erased memories of William, she appeared melancholic.
