Chapter 609 Hayden Decides to Leave
"Hayden, you're here too. Why didn't you invite come with me?" Michelle said as she walked over, smiling brightly at Teresa and Hayden, who were arm-in-arm, chatting and laughing like close friends in the garden.
Teresa looked at Michelle and awkwardly pulled at the corner of her lips. "Why would I invite you? Hayden doesn't want to see you either."
"Teresa, you're absolutely right." Hayden smiled at Teresa. "Let's go for a walk over there."
"Don't!" Before Teresa could agree, Michelle smiled and stood in front of them. "Hayden, you may not want to see me, but I have no choice because William asked me to come."
Michelle looked at Hayden, her smile broad and triumphant. "William told me you had given birth to twins. I was so busy moving in with William and taking care of him that I almost forgot. Thank goodness William reminded me."
"Michelle, don't bring up my brother in everything, that might not be what he said." Hayden wasn't angry, but Teresa was the first to get upset and immediately frowned and scolded.
Hayden looked at Teresa, who was standing up for her, and smiled as she gently patted her hand, soothingly saying, "Teresa, she is going to be your future sister-in-law, you should be nicer to her, right?"
Teresa glanced at Hayden and remained silent.
"Yes, Teresa, I will soon be the mother of your niece and nephew. " Michelle looked at Teresa and Hayden, smiling and raising her eyebrows. Then she changed the subject. "Oh, by the way, Hayden, the twins you had are William's children. Maybe in the future, they will also have the chance to call me 'mom,' right, Hayden?"
Hayden looked at her, a cold, enigmatic smile forming on her lips. Instead of answering, she asked, "Even if William dared to let my children call you 'Mom,' Michelle, would you dare to accept?"
Michelle still raised her eyebrows, looking smug. "I'm about to marry William. Although I will be their stepmother, I am still a mother. Why wouldn't I agree..."
"Michelle!"
Before Michelle could finish her sentence, a low, cold, and obviously displeased voice interrupted from not far away.
Everyone was stunned, but as soon as they reacted, they immediately turned their heads in the direction of the voice.
Standing not far from them on one side was William.
Seeing William suddenly appear following her, Michelle felt a bit flustered, but she quickly calmed down the next moment.
After all, she had already decided to take the 3% of the Bennett Group shares instead of marrying William. She had nothing to fear.
Immediately, she smiled softly and looked at William as she walked toward him.
"William, why are you here? Weren't you not supposed to come?" Walking up to William, Michelle reached out and linked her arm with his, acting coquettishly.
In the evening sun, William's deep eyes gazed at Michelle, and at that moment, only God knew how much he wanted to shake off her hand, even slapped her, and then told her to get lost.
But he knew that if he did that, it would disrupt the situation he had managed to maintain, causing a drastic change. So he did nothing, just coldly smiled.
"Michelle, I think everything is your own doing. It has nothing to do with William," Teresa questioned Michelle, noticing the change in William's expression.
Knowing that William wouldn't explode on the spot, Michelle smiled even more affectionately, reaching out to hug his waist, nestling into his arms, and then looking back at Teresa, raising her eyebrows. "Then ask your brother, is this his idea, or mine?"
From a distance of twenty or thirty feet, all of Hayden's gaze was fixed on William, waiting for him to speak.
Teresa said, "William, you..."
"Alright, I think you've shown off enough. We should leave." William cut Teresa off, speaking to Michelle. He then took her hand and walked away quickly.
"Well, I didn't want to come in the first place, but you insisted I come. Look, now I've offended Teresa as well." As William led her away, Michelle continued to smile coquettishly.
In any case, if she couldn't make Hayden lose his temper, then the one losing their temper would be herself.
Listening to Michelle's soft voice, William gritted his teeth, unconsciously tightening his grip on her wrist.
Michelle felt like her bones were about to be crushed in his palm.
But the angrier William got, the happier she felt, the stronger the pleasure of revenge.
Hayden had said that if she couldn't have him, then she would ruin him.
Well, let's see who would be ruined first, and who was more ruthless.
"Hayden, don't be angry. I don't think it was my brother's intention. He was just considering Michelle's dignity and didn't want to embarrass her on the spot." Seeing William and Michelle leave, Teresa immediately comforted Hayden.
She was finding it harder to understand what William was thinking.
"Yes, Michelle's dignity is really important," Hayden said, lowering his head with a bitter smile.
She wasn't blind, she could see the William's gaze for Michelle.
But despite that, William still chose to protect Michelle's dignity and didn't say a harsh word to her.
It seemed that even if William still had feelings for her, she couldn't change the current situation.
Originally, she wanted William to come to the hospital to see the children, and then she could open up to him completely.
It seemed she was wrong again.
"Hayden." Teresa looked at Hayden, not knowing what to say.
"Don't look like that, I'm fine." Hayden raised her head and smiled at Teresa. "I plan to take Chloe and Logan back to Imperial Capital tomorrow, and then quickly arrange the wedding with Jasper."
"Isn't that a bit too soon? Your body hasn't fully recovered yet," Teresa frowned.
Hayden continued, "It's okay, once we're back in Imperial Capital, I should be able to rest better."
Looking at her, Teresa nodded. "Then I'll send you, Chloe, and Logan back to Imperial Capital tomorrow."
Hayden smiled. "Sure, it's up to you."
