Chapter 564 William and Hayden
The next morning, Hayden returned to Imperial Capital. A day later, Justin reported to her about Michelle and William.
Upon seeing her at the Chanel flagship store last time, Michelle learned of her amnesia and the breakup with William. She seized the opportunity to intervene in their relationship, resigning from her job in Imperial Capital and moving to River North. Not only did she orchestrate chance encounters with William, but she also went to interview for the position of Chief Financial Officer at Bennett Group.
To Hayden's complete surprise, on the day she went to interview at Bennett Group, she encountered the former CFO causing a scene after being fired. Michelle inadvertently stepped in to shield William from harm and ended up being embraced by him, taken by William to the hospital.
Michelle had taken a blow for William.
Upon hearing this, a vivid image flashed in Hayden's mind of Hall holding her hand and viciously stabbing William in the abdomen.
She had almost killed him, but Michelle had saved his life.
"After Michelle was hospitalized, William visited her every day, and he even personally accompanied Michelle's parents out for meals several times. They got along very amicably," Justin continued the report, hesitating at the end, "It's like..."
"Like what?" Hayden inquired.
"They seem just like a family. William treats Michelle's parents with warmth and respect," Justin added.
They seemed just like a family.
Those final words from Justin undoubtedly left Hayden in utter despair.
In truth, judging from the phone call between William and Michelle two nights ago in The Harriman Family garden, she should have understood everything by now.
Regardless of the reasons, William was truly with Michelle now, and his treatment towards Michelle and her parents resembled that of family.
Initially, Michelle's parents had shown disdain towards Finn, but now they were warm and welcoming towards William. The difference between the two situations needed no comparison.
"I understand. You may go attend to your duties," Hayden instructed lightly after a brief moment of silence.
"Yes, Hayden," Justin nodded respectfully and withdrew.
Once Justin had left, Hayden closed her eyes, leaned back in her chair, and suddenly found herself unable to control her emotions. A tinge of bitterness stung her eyes, tears glistening.
Why did William choose Michelle? Was his behavior a warning to her, or a form of humiliation?
Regardless, she couldn't give up so easily.
After contemplating for a while, she calmed her emotions and dialed Chloe's extension.
"Hayden." Chloe entered immediately, standing before Hayden.
"Beginning today, arrange for a bouquet of nine imported blue roses to be sent to William every morning," Hayden lifted her gaze to glance at Chloe and emphasized, "Have it delivered wherever he is each morning."
Blue roses symbolize miracles and the impossible, representing pure love and sincerity.
The flower language of nine blue roses signifies the existence of a kind of loved one acquired through effort and dedication, a loved one with another name, dear. Vows and commitments are crucial; in that moment, the lives of lovers are tightly intertwined, becoming each other's dearest, unchangeable.
It is normal for men to send flowers to women, but Chloe had never heard of a woman voluntarily sending flowers to a man every day.
Chloe couldn't comprehend just how exceptional William must be to merit such humble gestures from Hayden.
Nevertheless, she didn't need to understand Hayden's thoughts; she simply had to follow through.
Therefore, she immediately agreed before excusing herself to attend to the task.
In the Bennett Group office building in River North, Michelle had been discharged from the hospital. Initially, William had told her to rest for a week before returning to work at Bennett Group, but Michelle was unwilling. On the second day after being discharged, she went to Bennett Group, informing the front desk she was there to start working.
William had bypassed all interviews for her and appointed her as the Chief Financial Officer at Bennett Group.
Michelle was highly skilled in both academics and work and was incredibly diligent. Even back in Southern, William knew of her capabilities. Otherwise, with The Harriman Family being from an ordinary background, how could Michelle have directly enrolled in Southern Business School, a world-renowned institution, right after graduating from university?
Naturally, the front desk remembered Michelle, and now all employees in the company knew about how she had shielded William from harm that morning.
Since Michelle claimed to be there to start working, although the front desk had not received any instructions from Human Resources, they didn't dare neglect the matter and immediately made a call to the HR department.
