Chapter 554 William and Hayden
The call went through, but Isabella did not pick up the phone immediately. However, she called back shortly after.
"Darling, what's up?"
"Do you have time? I can come to your place or you can come to mine," Hayden stated directly.
"Is Jocelyn not there?" Isabella asked on the phone as she remembered something.
Jocelyn had gone abroad to participate in a competition.
Hayden nodded, "Yes, Jocelyn will be back in a couple of days."
"I'll come to your place then," Isabella assumed Hayden was alone and bored at home.
"Great, I'll be waiting for you."
"Okay."
The Martinez villa was not far from the Bush Smith villa, at most a half-hour drive. So, just as Hayden arrived home, Isabella also arrived shortly after.
Hayden had some fruit snacks and red wine prepared, which were brought to her bedroom's spacious balcony. After changing her clothes, she sat with Isabella on the balcony's sofa.
It was early summer - the weather neither cold nor hot, with a gentle night breeze carrying a hint of coolness, quite comfortable.
"Did you prepare all this just to have a late-night chat with me?" Isabella laughed as she crossed her legs and leaned towards Hayden, seeing the snacks and drinks brought by the housekeeper.
Having grown up alongside Hayden, Isabella knew her well.
Hayden handed the wine on the table to Isabella, took a sip from her own glass, and said, "Isabella, you know, today when I went to meet a business partner at Sunset Haven Resort, I ran into William again."
"Well, if you came across William there, it's not surprising, considering there's a dedicated suite for him at Sunset Haven Resort," Isabella replied without any hint of surprise, taking a sip of the wine handed to her.
It had been five years, and for someone who had completely forgotten, Isabella didn't believe William held any significance in Hayden's heart.
Looking at her, Hayden smiled, "Do you know what happened next?"
"What?" Isabella kindly inquired.
After taking another sip of wine, Hayden raised an eyebrow and said, "When I entered the elevator, it malfunctioned, and all the lights went out inside. That’s when I recalled some moments with William."
"No way, you remembered?" Isabella looked surprised.
Clearly, what she had forgotten pertained solely to William.
"Not everything, just certain fragments," Hayden gazed at Isabella, her eyes unwavering, filled with profound sincerity and longing, almost beseeching, "Isabella, do you know what really happened between William and me? Please, tell me everything you know."
Isabella met Hayden's gaze, pondered for a moment, and responded, "Hayden, those things are in the past, and since you have forgotten them, why insist on recalling them just to cause yourself pain?"
Reaching out, Hayden held Isabella’s hand, "Because that's a part of my life, good or bad, I want to know. Otherwise, my life will never be whole."
Furrowing her brows, Isabella's beautiful face showed concern, "Even if it's something very painful and unpleasant, you still want to know?"
Without hesitation, Hayden nodded, "Yes, very much."
Isabella understood Hayden well. If there was something she set her mind to, she would see it through, no matter how much effort it required.
Rather than letting Hayden remain in the dark about those ten forgotten months, endlessly speculating and tormenting herself, Isabella decided it was better to disclose all the information she knew to Hayden.
After a moment of contemplation, Isabella nodded, took a large sip of wine, and proceeded to divulge everything Hayden had forgotten, including details about William and the Johnson family.
Isabella spoke for over two hours, and by the end, Hayden was in tears.
Her child, their child with William, over five months old, was gone.
"How did William and I lose our child?" After Isabella finished speaking, Hayden wiped the tears from her face and asked calmly.
