Chapter 332 Failed Attempts Lead to Losses
Chapter 332 Failed Attempts Lead to Losses
"No, I'm good." Liam glanced at her indifferently and seated himself on the nearby couch, stretching his long legs out. Without any preamble, he cut to the chase. "So, when do you plan on going public with our breakup?"
Faith's gaze was filled with love and tenderness as she approached, lowering herself slowly in front of him and reaching out to take his hand. However, before her fingers could make contact, Liam skillfully evaded her gesture.
"Faith, there's no need for this. You're a Coppola heiress." Liam experienced a sudden rush of warmth coursing through him.
What was happening?
Liam's brow furrowed, and impulsively, his hand reached up to loosen his tie.
"I'm sincere about you, Liam." Observing his response, a thrill surged in Faith's heart, yet she maintained her composure. Her hand once again reached for his, her gaze sincere and filled with passion. "I've fallen for you, truly. I want to be with you, to marry you. I desire nothing else but you."
The warmth inside him surged, and his thoughts became clearer. Liam struggled to control the sensations, forcefully pulling his hand from Faith's grasp.
"Faith, marrying a man who doesn't love you will only bring you hardship," He spoke while standing, adjusting his tie and unbuttoning his shirt's top buttons with determination. His narrowed eyes showed both a cold demeanor and a hidden intensity as he went on, "Let go. I can compensate you."
"No." Faith shook her head, and in the next instant, she wrapped her arms gently around him from behind, pressing her face against his back. "It's okay if you don't love me now, Liam. My love for you is enough. I believe, with all my dedication, it won't be long before you'll return my feelings."
The heat thrumming through Liam made his blood boil. Every cell was aflame with a restless energy.
Being so close to her ignited the remaining shreds of his rationality, urging him to resist and push her away. However, his body longed for the warmth she offered, almost craving her presence.
He pondered for a split-second about turning around to embrace Faith, but his better judgment swiftly halted the thought.
Permitting her to embrace him, Liam closed his eyes and took a deep breath. With a firm tone, he ordered, "Let go, Faith. We should part on good terms. I don't want to hurt you."
"No!" Faith shook her head, her refusal steadfast.
Sensing the increasing tension in Liam's body, she understood it was almost time. She released him, positioned herself in front of him, and embraced him once again.
Looking up into his eyes, her gaze brimming with sincerity, Faith said in a heartfelt and almost pleading tone, "Liam, believe me, I've really fallen for you. I don't want to be apart from you. Please, give me another chance, will you?"
His gaze fixed on her tempting lips, so close he could almost taste them; a deep yearning devoured Liam's self-control, his eyes shimmering with a wolfish green.
In the following moment, Liam's hand gently held the back of Faith's head, pulling her in for a kiss with precise finesse. Faith, reveling in the sight of his strikingly handsome features magnified up close, closed her eyes and responded with equal passion.
Liam's body had never felt so agitated. Sensing Faith's passionate response, he grew desperate for more.
Before long, they ended up intertwined on the nearby couch, eagerly removing each other's clothes, longing to be close.
Suddenly, in the midst of their passionate embrace, Liam's phone in his pocket started to vibrate continuously. Pressed snugly against his thigh through the fabric of his pants, the phone vibrated in bursts, gradually bringing back some clarity to Liam's foggy mind.
Opening his eyes, he was momentarily stunned by the face in front of him. In the next second, grasping onto the fleeting strands of his sensibility, he pushed Faith away.
"Ah!" Caught by surprise, Faith fell backward onto the carpet, her cry of pain filling the air.
Glancing at Faith with her dress halfway down and then at himself, Liam realized what was happening. Clinging to the remnants of his rationality, he stumbled up from the couch and headed toward the door.
"Liam!" Witnessing him regain some clarity and head for the door, Faith swiftly stood up and pursued him, wrapping her arms around him from behind. "Liam, where do you think you're going?"
"Get off me!" Liam, holding onto his last bit of sense, forcefully pried Faith's hands off and flung her away.
"Ah!" Once again, Faith was thrown aside, falling to the floor.
"Faith, what the hell did you do to get me like this?" He glared at Faith, sprawled on the floor, as his anger surged. Ever since he had walked into this suite, his body's reactions were undeniably intense, and only a fool would fail to understand why.
"Liam, what are you talking about? What herbal medicine?" Faith feigned ignorance, her face a mask of innocence. "I love you. Us being together, it's mutual, right?"
"Mutual affection!" Liam sneered as he looked at Faith. Before his emotions completely overwhelmed his rationality, he turned on his heel and walked toward the door.
"Liam, Liam..."
Bang!
Faith attempted to follow, but before she could reach the door, Liam had already swung it open and left with a resounding slam that echoed behind him.
Outside, Faith's brother, Finley, waited. He witnessed the disheveled Liam bursting out and attempted to stop him, but Liam forcefully pushed him to the ground with a thud before he could get too close.
Shoving past Finley as if chased by demons from behind, Liam staggered toward the elevator.
Once indoors, his phone vibrated again in his pocket. Glancing at the screen, he noticed Diana calling.
"Liam, I'm in the hotel's underground parking, waiting by your car. We should head out soon," Diana spoke respectfully from where she stood next to Liam's car.
Following William and Michelle's engagement party, Liam was set to travel to the UK for business, with Diana accompanying him.
"I'll be right there; wait for me," He said after answering the call and pressing the button for the parking level. The elevator started its rapid descent.
Diana furrowed her brow slightly as she listened to the husky voice infused with a tangible emotional undertone from the other end of the phone.
The driver had mentioned that Finley had requested Liam's presence. That meant Liam had definitely been to see Faith. Could they have reconciled?
However, Diana had been with Liam almost every day recently and hadn't seen Faith around, nor had she noticed any communication between them. Even so, why did it matter to her if Liam and Faith were back together?
