Chapter 539 William and Hayden
A few waitstaff were cleaning up the scene. There was still a large puddle of blood on the floor.
"Where are they? Where did everyone go?" Hayden shouted like a mad person, suddenly losing her composure.
"What's wrong?" The waitstaff was startled by her and stammered, "A man was just taken to the hospital."
Upon hearing the waitstaff's words, Hayden turned around to leave.
But as she took a step, someone grabbed her wrist from behind.
"Hayden, where are you going?" Hall held her, pulling her into his arms, and asked with a smile.
Hayden jerked her head up. When she saw Hall's repulsive face, she slowly regained her senses.
She thought, 'William was taken to the hospital. He was taken to the hospital. Isn't what I wanted most to have William taken to the hospital for treatment? Since William has already been taken to the hospital, what difference does it make whether I go or not? I must stay calm. I have to stay calm now. I can't afford to make mistakes at this critical moment. If I mess up now, it will be over. I will harm William and myself. I must hold on!'
"I want to go see William. What if he dies?" Hayden replied, exerting all her strength to control her emotions.
Hall laughed and said, "If he dies, he dies. It's no big deal."
Hayden forced a smile, shook her head, and said, "No, that won't do. It's not good for both of us."
"Don't worry, everything will be fine," Hall said, then kissed her on the face. He casually said, "Let's go. We'll have dinner first. After that, I'll take you to a nice place."
After speaking, he embraced Hayden and left.
Hayden exerted all her power to control her emotions and followed him back to the private room.
Fortunately, while the waiter was serving the dishes, Finn called Hayden to ask where she was.
"Dad, I'm with Hall. He said he's taking me out tonight," Hayden replied calmly, intentionally letting Hall hear that it was Finn on the phone and deliberately saying such words to Finn.
"You handled your company's matters so poorly, and yet you still have the mood to go out? Come back immediately," Finn roared on the other end of the phone. His voice traveled clearly through the phone and reached Hall's ears.
"Okay, Dad, I'll come back now," Hayden replied softly. She looked at Hall, frowned with some sadness, and said, "I'll probably get scolded again when I go back. I really don't want to go back. How about you make a call and help me plead with my dad?"
Upon hearing that Finn disagreed, Hall immediately changed his mind. He took Hayden's hand, patted it, and comforted her, "Since your dad wants you to go back, there must be something important he wants to tell you. You should listen to him and go back first. We can go out another day."
Hayden pretended to be displeased. She withdrew her hand, stood up, and blamed Hall before elegantly turning away. As she walked, she said, "Then I'll go. If I come back late, my dad will probably be even angrier."
Hall watched her leave with a smile, not suspecting anything about the recent phone call. After Hayden disappeared from his sight, he immediately called a bodyguard and instructed, "Keep an eye on William and see if he's really dead. If he is, I need to make arrangements in advance."
"Yes, Mr. Johnson," the bodyguard replied and promptly went to carry out the task.
After leaving the private room, Hayden unconsciously quickened her pace. She entered the elevator. Her legs began to tremble uncontrollably in the split second before the elevator doors closed. She could barely stand.
All she could see in her mind was William, covered in blood, and the image of her stabbing him in the abdomen.
She quickly leaned against the elevator wall, her hands trembling, and took out her phone from her bag. She found the number that had called her before she left work and tried to send a message.
However, her hands were shaking so violently that she could only manage to type a few words before her phone slipped from her grasp and fell to the ground.
She slid down the elevator wall, intending to pick up the phone, but her body completely lost control. It felt as if all her strength had been drained, and she collapsed on the floor.
Just then, the elevator made a soft "ding" sound, reaching the first floor.
Hayden saw the elevator doors slowly open, and her heart skipped a beat. She quickly picked up her phone from the ground, propped herself against the elevator wall, and struggled to stand. As the doors fully opened and began to close again, she hurriedly pressed the open button and stumbled out of the elevator.
Luckily, the club was bustling at the moment, and no one noticed her distress.
She rushed out of the club and found a taxi conveniently parked by the roadside. She immediately ran over, opened the door, and got in.
The driver turned to look at her, his expression filled with concern and fear, and asked, "Miss, are you okay? Do you need to go to the hospital?"
Hayden shook her head and told the driver that she wanted to go to The Bush Smith villa.
The driver glanced at her with worry but didn't ask any further questions. He drove the car in the direction of The Bush Smith villa.
As the car started moving, Hayden tremblingly unlocked her phone and dialed a certain number.
"Hayden." The call was quickly answered, and a respectful voice came through the phone.
"William has been taken to the hospital. How is he?" Hayden trembled, her voice filled with urgency.
"He was just brought into the emergency room, so his condition is still unclear."
"Please, keep an eye on him at the hospital. Let me know as soon as there's any news," Hayden pleaded, her voice trembling.
"Of course I will."
After hanging up the phone, Hayden held onto her phone, leaning back in the seat. She couldn't stop trembling. In her mind, she prayed over and over again for William's safety.
She thought, 'William, I'm sorry. Please be safe. Please, nothing must happen to you!
After tonight, I will confess everything to you. I will tell you everything.'
Hayden closed her eyes, unable to control her emotions any longer, and tears streamed down her face like a gentle stream.
Due to the rush hour traffic, it took Hayden an hour to return to The Bush Smith villa.
During the journey, her phone remained silent.
Hayden believed that no news was good news. The absence of any messages meant that William was still in the midst of treatment, that he was still alive.
When the taxi stopped at the entrance of The Bush Smith villa, Hayden had regained control of her emotions. She quickly fixed her appearance in the car, making sure everything looked normal. After paying the fare, she got out of the car and entered the villa.
"Hayden, you're back. Dinner is just ready. Come and sit down. It's time to eat," Sophia greeted Hayden warmly as she entered the hall.
Hayden walked into the living room. Sophia immediately welcomed her with enthusiasm. Sophia approached her, took Hayden's hand, and said with a smile, "I heard from my brother that you spent the night together at the hotel."
Hayden smiled at Sophia, saying, "Yes, so our relationship has become even closer now."
Sophia happily patted Hayden's arm and gave her a playful glare, saying, "As long as your dad doesn't mind, you can call me by my name from now on. After all, I'm only about ten years older than you, right?"
Hayden laughed and said, "I wouldn't dare ask my dad."
"It's okay, I'll do it for you. From now on, we'll be even closer, like a real family," Sophia said with a smile, patting Hayden's hand.
Sophia was in a good mood today because something good had happened after her return to the Johnson villa.
"Mr. Bush Smith," Finn came downstairs at this moment. Finn's butler, Wesley, immediately greeted him respectfully.
"Finn, Hayden is back. We can start dinner," Sophia said gently.
"Dad," Hayden walked over and greeted Finn.
Finn's expression immediately turned dark when he saw Hayden.
"Finn, let's discuss whatever it is after dinner. Let's eat first," Sophia walked over, holding Finn's arm, pretending to be the good person as usual.
Finn coldly glared at Hayden. He didn't say anything and walked straight to the dining room. Sophia held onto his arm, smiling, and followed him.
Hayden lowered her head and obediently followed behind Finn and Sophia.
During the meal, both Hayden and Finn were somewhat unhappy, but they managed to control their emotions and not show it.
After dinner, Hayden went to the study with Finn. She was scolded harshly by Finn.
The study door was open, and Sophia could hear Finn scolding Hayden from downstairs.
After the scolding, Finn asked Hayden to go back to her room and redo the financial reports. Sophia immediately went to the study to console Finn.
"I'm so angry. She can't even handle such a small matter. She's becoming more and more disappointing," Finn said, despite Sophia's efforts to comfort him. He held Sophia's hand and said, "I'm glad you're here. I'll rely on Daniel and this unborn son in the future."
Sophia obediently sat on Finn's lap, hugging his neck gently, and said softly, "Don't worry, I will definitely give birth to a healthy boy for you. Please don't be angry anymore, or the baby will be unhappy too."
As Sophia spoke, she gently caressed her slightly bulging belly.
Finn nodded, took a deep breath, and also gently stroked Sophia's belly, saying, "Alright, it's getting late. You go take a shower first, and I'll be back soon."
"Don't make me wait too long," Sophia obediently replied, kissing Finn on the face.
"I can't bear to make you wait long. Go quickly," Finn said, gently patting her thigh, his tone still as gentle as usual.
Sophia smiled and got up from Finn's embrace, slowly walking out of the room.
Finn's face instantly darkened as soon as she left the study, looking extremely intimidating.
Finn was very experienced. Compared to him, Hayden's recent performance seemed a bit immature.
Finn waited outside for a while. As soon as Sophia finished her shower and lay down on the bed, Finn pushed open the door and entered.
After exchanging a few words with Sophia at the bedside, there was a knock on the door. Wesley had brought the medicine to help Sophia with her pregnancy.
"This medicine is too bitter. I don't want to drink it. The doctor said the baby is healthy during yesterday's check-up," Sophia pleaded with Finn as she looked at the black medicine in the bowl.
"Since the medicine has already been delivered, you should drink it. Be obedient!" Finn said, picking up the bowl himself and bringing it to Sophia's lips. "Drink it today, and you won't have to drink it tomorrow."
Sophia hesitated for a moment, then said, "Alright. I'll drink it tonight."
"Yes, just drink it this once tonight," Finn nodded and personally fed Sophia spoonful by spoonful. Wesley then left the room but stayed outside, standing guard.
Finn made sure Sophia drank all the medicine. After setting down the bowl, he comforted her, "You should rest now. I'll go take a shower and come back."
After drinking the medicine, Sophia started to feel drowsy. Unable to resist the drowsiness, she casually responded to Finn and fell into a deep sleep.
"Sophia, Sophia." Seeing her asleep, Finn gently tapped her cheek, trying to wake her up.
No matter how he called, Sophia showed no response.
"Sophia, Sophia." Finn forcefully pinched Sophia's arm, attempting to rouse her, but she remained unresponsive.
Finn knew that the medicine had taken effect.
"Come in," Finn said to Wesley, who was standing guard outside the door.
Wesley, a subordinate specially chosen by Finn, would unquestionably obey him and was extremely loyal.
"Mr. Bush Smith." Wesley immediately pushed the door open and entered.
"Go and fetch Hayden, then prepare the car. Madam is feeling unwell, and we need to go to the hospital," Finn said with a dark expression, staring at the sleeping Sophia, giving his command in a deep voice.
"Yes, Mr. Bush Smith." Wesley respectfully left to carry out the task immediately.
