Chapter 496 William and Hayden Part (97)

Watching her, William couldn't control himself, and his eyes also turned red.

Ignoring everything, he firmly held her, trapping her between himself and the wall. The back of the hand against the wall had prominent veins.

Suddenly, something surged up in his throat, unable to come up or go down, more painful and distressing than stabbing himself in the chest with a knife.

"Hayden, don't you understand?" He clenched his teeth tightly, and after several seconds of staring at each other, William finally asked.

She looked at his red eyes, and the immense pain and sadness in his expression, and Hayden laughed coldly, turned her head away, and said in a more ruthless tone, "William, you're being too presumptuous. You really don't deserve it! I want to find a man who is better and superior to you."

"Say that again?" A sentence spilled out of William's throat.

"William, you don't deserve it!" Suddenly, Hayden turned her head back, looked at him with coldness and determination, mockery and contempt, and said, "So, please, stop being presumptuous in the future."

William smiled at her.

After staring at each other for a few more seconds, finally, little by little, he straightened his body and released Hayden. His usually gentle and pleasant voice became extremely hoarse: "Hayden, since you want me to stop being presumptuous, fine."

As he spoke, William smiled again, with pain and bitterness overflowing from his eyebrows and corners of his mouth. Under Hayden's gaze, he continued, "If you get rid of the child in your belly, I will never bother you again."

Hayden seemed to be startled when she saw him, and the color drained from her face quickly. In a split second, before her face turned completely pale, she suddenly turned around and swiftly opened the door, rushing out in a few strides.

Watching her disappear, William closed his eyes, and his cigarette between his fingers instantly shattered.

...

He didn't know how he returned to the private room.

Hayden couldn't taste the flavor of the dishes that came later.

After she came back, her complexion noticeably worsened, and Maddox and Mr. Blair's conversation became scarce.

After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant and got in the car, but Hayden's phone rang.

She took it out and saw that it was a call from Finn.

"Finn."

"Are you going on a business trip to River North to see William?" Finn asked on the other end of the phone.

Listening to him, Hayden couldn't help but smile lightly. "Finn, don't you trust me?"

"I hope I'm just overthinking." Finn's sigh of relief came after Hayden's counter-question. "Hayden, your brother is still young. I might not be able to wait until he matures and has enough courage to take over The Smith Group. So, I hope you can listen to me and share more of my burden."

Ultimately, Finn wanted the entire Smith Group to be handed over to Daniel in the future. That's why he didn't want her to marry any capable man so as not to lose control over The Smith Group.

With a faint smile on her lips, Hayden obediently and affectionately said, "Finn, don't worry, I won't let you down."

Hayden was busy with Maddox till 7 p.m. After having dinner with everyone, they returned to the hotel.

Initially, the secretary had booked a separate business suite for Hayden and Maddox. However, when they were checking in, Hayden turned her head and saw William and his Finley Jeffrey walking toward them.

Her breath hitched, and instinctively, she reached out and hooked her arm with Maddox's.

Maddox was momentarily surprised when his arm was hooked, and he looked at Hayden in confusion.

With a gentle smile toward him, Hayden stood on her tiptoes, leaned into his ear, and whispered, "Do me a favor. Play along with me. Pretend to be my boyfriend."

Maddox looked at her, surprised, but when he felt something and turned his head to see the person coming toward them, he immediately understood.

Walking toward them was none other than the newly crowned shopping mall tycoon in the country, William, the CEO of Queen's Avenue Group.

Maddox had long heard of William's reputation, but he had never had the opportunity to meet him.

During lunch at the restaurant today, the manager brought them two extra dishes, and Hayden even asked the waiter if the restaurant was affiliated with Queen's Avenue Group.

Maddox understood what was going on, so he smiled and whispered to Hayden, "My pleasure!"

William and Jeffrey walked to the lounge area. After giving Jeffrey some instructions, William sat down on the couch, crossed his long legs, and gazed at Hayden and Maddox. Jeffrey, on the other hand, quickly strode toward the lobby.

William had already done his research on Maddox. He was thirty-six years old, recruited by Finn with a high salary, and currently heads the Business Department at The Smith Group's headquarters.

"Excuse me, we don't need two business suites anymore. Please change it to a presidential suite," Hayden said casually to the hotel staff at the front desk, pretending not to notice William.

Since Maddox was willing to cooperate, Hayden made the decision directly.

"Alright, madam. Please wait a moment. I will arrange it for you." The cost of a presidential suite was much higher than that of a business suite. If the hotel had available presidential suites, the waitstaff would be more than happy to accommodate them.

"I'll take a presidential suite as well, right next to this madam," Jeffrey said as soon as the hotel staff finished speaking. He then placed an ID card on the transparent marble counter.

The hotel staff looked stunned and turned to Jeffrey.

Maddox smiled slightly and casually glanced at the ID card that Jeffrey had placed on the counter.

The ID card belonged to William. At less than twenty-six years old, he was ten years younger than Maddox, yet already a revered figure in the American shopping mall industry. Maddox admired him greatly.

"Sir, madam, please wait. I will immediately summon our manager to serve the three of you." The waiter had no choice but to go and get the lobby manager.

Soon, the lobby manager arrived to serve these distinguished guests who were staying in the presidential suite.

Coincidentally, two adjoining presidential suites were available, and the lobby manager immediately arranged their check-in.

When the check-in was completed, Hayden stated that they would stay for two days, and Jeffrey followed suit.

After completing the check-in process, Jeffrey quickly took the room key card and walked toward William.

William took the room card and gave Jeffrey a few instructions before Jeffrey left the hotel. William held the room card, and the suite butler immediately came to serve him.

William nodded and headed directly to the dedicated elevator for the presidential suite.

As Maddox watched William, who had a tall and well-built physique, a long and slender leg, and a handsome face, a hint of meaningful shine flickered in his eyes.

In fact, he was quite eager to get to know William.

However, now was not a good time to make friends with William, as he could feel Hayden's hand holding his arm tightly.

She was nervous and uneasy.

At first, Hayden's hands held Maddox's arm, but gradually, her hands changed to his arm, and her whole body leaned slowly against him, showing an extremely intimate posture. Anyone who saw the two of them would think they were a couple.

Feeling Hayden's need, Maddox cooperatively reached out his hand and hugged her waist, bringing her into his embrace.

As William approached, he noticed Maddox's actions. His originally gentle eyes suddenly became serious.

"Hayden, what a coincidence!" William came to Hayden's side and looked at her and Maddox with deep meaning in his eyes, smiling subtly as he greeted them.

The phrase "what a coincidence" was filled with deep helplessness.

"It's not just a coincidence, is it, William?" Although her heart was pounding like a drum, Hayden tried to appear calm on her face as she smiled at William.

William slightly raised his attractive eyebrows, glanced at Maddox, and said, "Don't you want to introduce me?"

"Maddox, my boss." Hayden smiled and introduced him generously, then looked at Maddox and suddenly became particularly gentle, saying, "Maddox, this is William."

Looking at William, Maddox smiled and politely reached out his hand. "You must be William from Queen's Avenue group. Hello!"

William also reached out his hand and lightly shook Maddox's. "Hello!"

At this moment, the elevator arrived, and the suite butler immediately gestured for them to enter.

However, William wasn't in a hurry and gallantly waited for Hayden and Maddox to enter first.

Without looking at him again, Hayden walked in with Maddox.

After they entered, William stepped in with his long legs, and the suite butler followed.
