Chapter 17 Going to the Bennett Residence
Liam's voice was laced with concern as he fired off questions at Teresa, who had just called. "Why'd you leave? You okay?"
"Sorry, Liam, something urgent came up. I had to go," Teresa's voice came through with tension, from the back of a taxi.
"You forgot your purse," Liam said, spotting it on the couch.
"It's fine, someone can bring it to me later," she replied quickly.
"Teresa, is everything alright?" Liam's worry was palpable.
"Just a rough night, Liam. I'm sorry," Teresa apologized, her tone was heavy.
Liam paused, then asked, "Where are you now?"
"I'm on my way home. Don't worry about me."
"Okay, stay safe," Liam said before ending the call. He turned to his friends, regret in his eyes. "Guys, Teresa's in trouble. I have to head out. Next gathering's on me."
Grabbing Teresa's purse, Liam hurried out.
Aaron chuckled after Liam's departure. "Liam's head over heels for that girl."
Gabriel, who had been silent, stood up, his mood somber. "Let's end it here for tonight."
"Gabriel, you're bleeding! What happened?" Kyle pointed out Gabriel's bloodied arm as he rose.
"Just a scratch, nothing big.," Gabriel replied curtly with Unity trailing him.
"Your arm..."
"It's none of your business. Finley, see that Unity gets home," Gabriel cut off the concern with a dismissive wave.
Outside, Gabriel slid into his car, Unity following suit. She reached for his wounded hand, but he withdrew it.
"Finley," Gabriel said, his tone was icy, ignoring Unity's attempt to express her devotion.
Finley, sensing the tension, opened the door for Unity. "Please, Unity, get off the car."
Unity hesitated, but Gabriel's chilling aura was unmistakable. "I'm yours, Gabriel. Doesn't today mean anything?"
"Out. Now!" Gabriel's command was final.
Unity exited the car, shaken by his stern expression.
Once she was gone, the driver cautiously asked, "Where to, Gabriel?"
Gabriel, eyes still closed, said, "The Bennett family estate."
"The Bennett's of Queen hospitality group?" the driver tried to confirm nervously.
"Yes, that one," Finley confirmed, and the car pulled away, heading towards the Bennett family estate.
