Chapter 590 Sophia Teaches William a Lesson
However, Michelle wouldn't be scared off by Hayden like that.
She calmed down and looked at Hayden, smiling, "You misunderstood me, and you misunderstood William as well. He told me you were in the hospital, hoping that we could let go of past misunderstandings and grievances, and live peacefully from now on. After all, you are carrying his child, and I am about to become his wife. We will have plenty of chances to meet in the future, and I don't want him to be in a difficult position. So, I came here today mainly to apologize to you."
"Apologies?!" Hayden sneered again, then, much to Michelle and everyone's surprise, she directly ordered Melissa beside her, "Melissa, call William and have him come to take away his beloved fiancée, because I simply can't bear it anymore."
"Yes, Hayden," Melissa agreed, immediately taking out her phone to call William.
"Hayden, don't..."
"Michelle, get out!" Before Michelle could even respond, Patrick interrupted her with a low growl.
Michelle looked at Patrick, then glanced at Sophia.
At this moment, Sophia's face was also full of displeasure, clearly impossible to stand on her side.
She could confront Hayden, but even if she was extremely dissatisfied, she couldn't confront Patrick. So, she obediently kept quiet, then lowered her head in a submissive manner, and meekly said, "Yes, Dad, Mom, I'll wait for you outside."
As the words fell, she glanced at Hayden once more before turning and walking out.
Hayden met her gaze, feeling weary as she closed her eyes after she turned and walked away.
"Hayden, don't be angry. It was William's confusion, and also our failure to educate him properly. But you and the children, as long as you are willing, are all part of The Bennett family." After Michelle left, Sophia sat down by the bed, looking at Hayden with immense tenderness.
"Hayden, William didn't answer the phone," Melissa reported to Hayden as she moved her phone away from her ear.
Hayden glanced at Melissa, though she didn't say anything, the disappointment in her heart was evident.
Has William still been unwilling to answer her calls up to now?
"William, not sure what you're up to, but I'll make the call." With that, Sophia took out her phone to call William.
"Sophia, it's okay," Hayden quickly stopped Sophia. "Patrick, Sophia, I'm tired and I want to take a nap."
Looking at Hayden, her intentions couldn't have been more obvious, and her expression, she truly looked very exhausted.
So, Patrick and Sophia didn't say anything more. They both nodded affectionately. Sophia patted his hand and said, "Alright, you rest well. I'll come back later to check on you."
"Okay." Hayden replied lightly, then closed his eyes.
She is really tired!
She was physically tired, but even more so emotionally exhausted.
Watching her close her eyes, her face full of weariness, Sophia also felt really sad. She didn't say anything more, just gave her a deep look before leaving with Patrick.
"Dad, Mom." Michelle and others were waiting outside. When they saw Patrick and Sophia coming out of the ward, they immediately walked over to call them.
"Michelle, you haven't officially married William yet, so you don't have to start calling us mom and dad just yet," Sophia said, looking up at her with a somewhat friendly expression.
Michelle used to call them "Patrick" and "Sophia" all the time before, but today she suddenly changed her tune. They both understood that it was to provoke Hayden.
Watching Sophia, Michelle didn't feel awkward either. She smiled obediently and nodded, saying, "Okay."
Patrick looked at her, frowning in disapproval, but ultimately didn't say anything, and left with Sophia.
I got into the elevator and remembered that Melissa had just said she called William but he didn't answer, so Sophia took out her phone and called William.
Likewise, William didn't pick up either.
"What's wrong with William? Why isn't he answering the phone?" The call disconnected automatically, Sophia muttered.
"Sophia, let's go check on William," Michelle immediately suggested.
Sophia glanced at Michelle. Originally, she wanted to object, but considering that Michelle was now at least William's fiancée, their affairs, she shouldn't interfere too much. So, she didn't say anything and after leaving the hospital, she went to William's apartment with Michelle.
In William's apartment, William and Jasper were lying on the sofa together, fast asleep. Two empty bottles were sitting on the table next to the sofa, filling the spacious apartment with the strong scent of alcohol.
Yesterday, Teresa and Gabriel got married. William, the elder brother-in-law, drank who knows how much. Last night, he and Jasper finished off two bottles of whiskey. It would have been strange if they didn't get drunk.
Sophia arrived outside William's apartment, without ringing the doorbell, she entered the apartment building's door code directly.
Although Michelle has visited William's apartment several times, every time she comes with him, he uses fingerprint unlocking, so she never had the chance to know the password to his apartment.
This time, when Sophia saw the gate password, she quickly made a note of it.
When the loud sound of the apartment door "clicked" open, William and Jasper, who were lying on the sofa in a daze, finally reacted. They both slowly opened their eyelids and woke up.
Sophia pushed the door open and smelled the strong scent of alcohol in the room. She immediately shouted in concern, "William."
William woke up feeling like his head was about to split open, and Jasper, who was beside him, felt the same way. They were both extremely uncomfortable.
I walked into the living room, and Sophia immediately saw the scene on the sofa, which made her suddenly breathe a sigh of relief.
"Jasper, you're here too!" Michelle followed into the living room, seeing William and Jasper. She immediately walked over, crouched down next to William, who was hitting his own forehead with a clenched fist. Michelle quickly stopped him, then began massaging his temples gently and affectionately, saying, "Are you feeling unwell? Why did you drink so much?"
Originally, William was still groggy, but now he heard a voice in his ear. He opened his eyes again and saw Michelle. Immediately, he pushed away her hand resting on his temples and sat up.
Looking at William, I could clearly feel his rejection towards me, while Michelle pretended to be oblivious, gazing at him and continuing gently, "Are you okay? I'll go get you a glass of coconut juice."
"I'm fine. You go to work at the company first," William replied expressionlessly, then stood up to leave.
Just as he stood up, his body felt a bit unsteady and swayed for a moment.
"William," Michelle hurriedly went to support him.
William glanced at the hands holding onto his arm, then calmly withdrew his hand, saying, "You can go first. I don't need you here."
"Michelle, you go to the company first. I'll be fine here," Sophia stood aside, observing everything clearly without saying a word. Since William was so impatient with Michelle, she naturally didn't want Michelle to stay any longer.
"Alright, I'll head to the office first, and William will be in Sophia's care," Michelle said, looking at Sophia with a strong smile before glancing at William and then leaving.
"Jasper, are you okay?" Sophia walked up to the sofa after Michelle left, looking at Jasper who was still lying there, not wanting to move.
Jasper opened his eyes and looked at Sophia, grinning as he said, "Sophia, William drank more than me."
William glanced at him, said nothing, and walked straight towards the bedroom to take a shower.
Sophia saw that William was truly awake, his eyes bright and his steps steady. Feeling reassured, she got up to pour a glass of water and handed it to Jasper. "Why are you and William drinking so much? Is there something you want to tell me?"
Jasper took the water poured by Sophia, said "thank you," then drank it all in one gulp, smiled, and said, "It's actually nothing, why don't you ask William later."
Since Jasper didn't say anything, Sophia didn't ask any more questions. She smiled and said, "You should go take a shower and change your clothes quickly. I'll prepare some food for you guys."
"Alright, thank you," Jasper nodded and naturally walked towards the other bathroom in the apartment.
William advanced to the bathroom to take a shower, of course emerging before Jasper.
When he finished washing and changed his clothes, Sophia had already placed the coconut juice on the dining table, one glass for him and one for Jasper.
"In the morning, I went to see Hayden with your dad." Seeing William sit down at the dining table and pick up the coconut juice, Sophia busied herself preparing food for them, casually mentioning.
William, holding a coconut juice, listened intently, furrowing his brow slightly, pausing for a moment.
