Chapter 581 William's Parents' Apology

William never mentioned to them, let alone told them, that the babies in Hayden's belly was conceived through stealing his sperm for in vitro fertilization. They simply thought that William made Hayden pregnant but did not take responsibility, so naturally, he felt guilty and blamed himself.

"Patrick, you sit first." Hayden, supported by Sophia, sat down and then pulled Sophia to sit down as well, before looking back at Patrick.
Patrick nodded and sat down across from them.

"Patrick, Sophia, and Teresa were my best friends. When you guys call me Hayden instead, Teresa gets mad," Hayden said with a smile as Patrick sat down.

At that moment, the secretary brought in the coffee and fruit, set them down, and then respectfully exited.

"Yeah, Teresa has been mentioning you in front of us all the time, she really adores you," Sophia looked at Hayden, her smile filled with warmth and affection, "Since you also consider Teresa your best friend, we won't stand on ceremony in the future, we'll just call you Hayden."

"It should have been like this from the beginning," Hayden nodded with a smile, then made a gesture of invitation, saying, "Patrick, Sophia, please have some coffee."

Patrick smiled affectionately, nodded, picked up his coffee, took a slow sip. However, Sophia, not in the mood for coffee, held Hayden's hand with a serious expression and said, "Hayden, we are here this time to apologize to you on behalf of William. He has always been reticent, only discussing business matters with us, not sharing anything else. We don't know what he has been thinking these past few years, but regardless, it's his fault towards you. He..."

"Sophia, William isn't wrong. I am the one who's wrong." Looking at Sophia, Hayden interrupted her before she could speak, smiled, and calmly said, "In fact, we broke up a long time ago. He has his choices, and I shouldn't have been clinging onto him."

"Hayden, anyway, William is a man and should naturally bear more responsibility, so you can't say it's your fault," Patrick spoke up as Sophia was still a bit dazed by Hayden's words, not quite sure what was going on.

He understands his own son himself. William is not the kind of person who is heartless and irresponsible, but as he himself said, he is a man and should bear more responsibilities.

Looking at Patrick, Hayden smiled and said, "Patrick, Sophia, now William and I have both started new lives, which is great. As for the kids, after I give birth, they will definitely be with me. But if you ever want to come see the children, you’re always welcome."

Patrick and Sophia exchanged a glance. Since Hayden had been so straightforward with her words, they didn't have any other requests in mind.
With a warm and loving smile, Sophia nodded and inquired about Hayden and the two children. Although she knew that The Smith family lacked nothing, Sophia still prepared many things for the children, planning to have them sent over when the time comes.

Hayden was busy, and they didn't stay long. About half an hour later, they left and went straight to the airport, heading back to River North.
When they returned home around seven in the evening, William and Michelle happened to be there.

Michelle was quite conscientious. She knew they were going home for dinner, so she personally cooked a few dishes with great care. Sophia ate them and thought the taste was decent.
To be honest, from Patrick and Sophia's perspective, it really seemed fine for Michelle to be William's wife.

Michelle had good looks, education, and abilities. Her personality was disciplined as well. If it weren't for Hayden getting pregnant with William's child, they would have readily accepted Michelle.
However, the thought of their grandchildren not being able to have the surname Bennett and the long journey they would have to make to see them left them feeling unhappy.

After dinner, Michelle personally cut some fruits and brought them over for everyone to eat. She did it quite meticulously. However, Patrick and Sophia didn't eat any. Patrick went straight to the garden, while Sophia headed to the study.

"Is there something wrong with me that makes your parents not like me?" Michelle asked William with a hint of sadness as she watched Patrick and Sophia leave.

William gently patted her hand, saying, "It's okay, they will gradually get used to liking it. It's getting late, I'll have the driver take you back."

Michelle looked at William, she really wanted to stay and sleep with him.
She has been with William for almost half a year now, and they have even set a date for their wedding. Not to mention sleeping together, apart from at the engagement ceremony, William hasn't even kissed her once.

However, since William was leaving, how could Michelle possibly go against his wishes and forcefully stay? Immediately, she gave a gentle smile, nodded, and agreed with a soft "okay."

William smiled and instructed the housekeeper to inform the driver. Then, he got up to accompany Michelle out.

"See you tomorrow." Before getting in the car, Michelle tiptoed and leaned in to give William a peck on the cheek, smiling sweetly and charmingly.

"Alright, see you tomorrow," William nodded. As soon as she got into the car and drove away, he turned around and headed back into the house. In that moment, the smile on his face completely vanished.

"William." However, as he turned around, he was stopped by the approaching Sophia.
William stopped in his tracks and looked expressionlessly at Sophia.

"I and your dad went to The Smith Group today and met Hayden," Sophia said, looking at William.
He could tell that his parents were very happy after meeting Hayden.

Lowering his head, William smiled and said, "I got it."
As the words fell, he lifted his leg and was about to walk into the house.

"William, tell me honestly, what really happened between you and Hayden? Is there really no chance at all between you two?" Immediately, Sophia called out to him again.

"Are you suggesting that I should betray Michelle and be with Hayden instead?" William paused once again, looking at Sophia without responding with a question.

Sophia frowned and sighed, "At least you and Hayden already have two children now. Don't you think about your children?"

Watching Sophia, William smirked ambiguously, said nothing more, and then strode into the house with large steps.
Sophia looked on, letting out a sigh of resignation.
Now she really doesn't understand what William's true thoughts were...
