Chapter 576 Return
Michelle's grandfather did have advanced stomach cancer and was close to passing away.
When William and Michelle rushed back to the Harriman family, they saw Landon lying in bed, already gasping for his last breath.
Upon hearing that William had arrived, Landon slowly opened his eyes. Upon seeing him, Landon was delighted. He held both William and Michelle's hands, asking them about their recent activities. William responded to him as if he were his own grandfather, respectfully answering his questions.
"I was almost dying, Michelle, and now the only wish of a grandfather is to see you get married." Landon looked at Michelle, extremely weakly, and then turned to William, full of eager anticipation, and continued weakly, "William, will you marry Michelle? She has always been the best since childhood."
When Landon said this, Michelle immediately looked at William beside her, her eyes full of anticipation and shyness.
Not only Michelle, Noah, and Madison stood by watching, but they were also eagerly awaiting William's answer.
"Marry her? Of course I'm going to marry her," William said, looking at Landon, almost without hesitation.
"When are you getting married?" Landon asked weakly, taking a few shallow breaths. He looked at William and continued, "Once your wedding plans are set, I will feel at ease."
"Grandpa, please set a time. I will have someone prepare immediately," William said earnestly, looking at Landon.
Michelle looked at him, so surprised and excited that she was speechless.
"Great." With immense satisfaction, Landon smiled and nodded, "Let's get engaged first, how about two weeks from now?"
"Okay." Once again, William agreed without hesitation, taking Landon's hand and saying, "Grandpa, you must make sure to witness my engagement to Michelle."
"Okay." Landon nodded with great joy and reassurance, saying, "I will definitely make sure to witness my precious granddaughter get engaged..."
Hayden received the exact news that William was going to propose to Michelle in a week, as the news of William, the CEO of Bennett Group, getting engaged to the group's financial director, had already caused a sensation and even made it to the top of the trending news nationally.
Hayden saw it, but she wasn't surprised at all, because she had heard long ago that they were planning to get married.
When she went to the Bennett Group to find William, how dare Michelle boldly tell her that she would soon be Mrs. Bennett?
Having loved for so long, she really didn't understand William, let alone Michelle, underestimating Michelle even more.
Since the only man she ever loved in her life was getting engaged to another woman, marrying her, what's the point for her to continue hiding and carrying his child everywhere?
What is she still considering? Could it be that, nowadays, she is still worried about potentially causing a negative impact on The Smith Group and The Smith family?
Who says the father of the baby in her belly can only be William?
As long as she is willing, she can find countless dads for the two children in her belly.
"Melissa, go ahead and make arrangements, I want to go back tomorrow," Hayden instructed Melissa casually after reading the report about William and Michelle's engagement.
“Go back?”
Melissa paused for a moment and asked, "Hayden, where are we heading back to?"
"Return to the Imperial Capital."
"Alright, I'll arrange it right away," Melissa nodded and went to take care of it immediately.
"Hold on," Hayden called out as he remembered something, "Before we head back to the Imperial Capital, let's make a stop at Radiant Valley City."
"Are we going to Radiant Valley City?!" Looking at her, Melissa was a bit puzzled.
"Yes," Hayden nodded, "I'll go check on Daniel."
Melissa, of course, knew who Daniel was because every now and then, Hayden would check up on Daniel. So, she immediately nodded and said, "Alright, Hayden, let's go to Radiant Valley City tomorrow, and then head back home directly from Radiant Valley City."
"Okay," Hayden replied, looking out the window.
She actually always knew that Daniel had a tough time in Radiant Valley City, where the people assigned to take care of him were actually harsh and even abusive towards him.
She also knew that all of this was actually orchestrated by Jocelyn.
During the over four years that Avery served as the mistress of The Smith family, Jocelyn suffered greatly from Daniel's bullying. While others may not have been aware of the extent of it, as her older sister, it was impossible for her not to know.
Now, nearly six years have passed, and Pierre and Avery have long since passed away. After all, Daniel is still her half-brother from the same father, even if the idea of repaying a mother's debt to her son is almost irrelevant now.
