Chapter 519 William and Hayden
Hayden came to her senses and turned her head to look outside. When she saw Jasper leaning over and looking at her, she quickly wiped away the tears on her face before lowering the car window.
"What's wrong? Why are you alone at the hospital? What happened?" Under the dim streetlights, Jasper frowned as he looked at her red eyes and obvious tear stains on her face. He asked again, "Are you feeling unwell?"
Hayden looked at him and shook her head.
"Then why are you crying?" Jasper became even more anxious seeing her like this. "Tell me if something is bothering you."
Looking at him, Hayden suddenly smiled.
Seeing her cry and laugh alternately, Jasper was a bit confused.
"Do you have time?" After laughing, Hayden suddenly asked seriously.
"Yes! I have plenty of time." Jasper blurted out eagerly.
"Then get in the car and accompany me for a drink."
"Sure, you get down, I'll drive," Jasper said and went to open the driver's door.
Hayden, indeed, wasn't in a good state and didn't feel like driving, so she nodded and got out of the car, taking the passenger seat and handing the car over to Jasper.
Perhaps because she had cried and now had someone whom she didn't need to guard against and who could provide her with a little warmth, Hayden's mood improved.
"What happened? Tell me, maybe I can help." After merging into traffic, Jasper drove attentively while glancing at Hayden.
Leaning back in the seat, Hayden smiled and shook her head. "I'm going to be a big sister again."
"What?!" Jasper was momentarily stunned but then nodded, "Oh, Sophia is pregnant again."
Driving seriously, Jasper paused and glanced at her again, continuing, "But even if Sophia is pregnant, do you really need to be so sad? It's just one more person to share the family fortune with in the future! Money is something that can only be used when you're alive, as long as it's enough for this lifetime, isn't it?"
Hayden looked at him and then turned her head back to the front, smiling faintly.
She knew that she couldn't say everything in her heart to anyone, even with Jasper.
So, she changed the subject and asked, "Where are you taking me?"
"To spend money," Jasper replied.
This was the most famous bar in Imperial Capital, and the people who went there were generally either rich or powerful. Of course, someone like Jasper was a regular at high-end establishments.
"Hmm, okay." Hayden nodded lightly, agreeing. Then, she slowly closed her eyes and rested.
Jasper glanced at her again, and coincidentally, they encountered a red light. He slowly stopped the car and took out his cell phone. Taking advantage of Hayden's momentary relaxation, he opened William's Facebook and edited the message, "I met Hayden at the hospital. She was crying, and now she's with me."
After editing, Jasper glanced at Hayden again and saw that her eyes were still closed, resting. Hurriedly, he clicked send and put his cell phone back into his pocket.
On the other end of the phone, William was still working overtime in the office, having a meeting with several executives to discuss a project. He noticed his cellphone's lit-up screen on the desk and casually glanced at it.
When he clearly saw the content on the screen, his deep eyes suddenly narrowed as if he had been frozen in place, almost forgetting to breathe.
Why would Hayden be at the hospital? Why was she crying? Why was she so sad when she cried? What had happened to her?
Although Hayden's decisive words were clear, at this moment, all he could think of was Hayden.
"William, what do you think of the plan we just discussed?" Noticing his absent-mindedness, the executives exchanged glances, and one of them reminded him.
William snapped back to reality, stood up from his executive chair, put on his suit jacket that was draped over the back of the chair, and instructed, "Let's call it a day for today. We'll continue when I return."
The executives were somewhat confused, but before they could react, William had already grabbed his cell phone and rushed out.
"Make a reservation for the Imperial Capital for me as soon as possible." Leaving the office, William glanced at his secretary, giving orders while walking toward the dedicated elevator.
"Yes, William." the secretary quickly stood up, watching him hurriedly pass by, and nodded respectfully.
