Chapter 11 Rude
"Finley, you go buy birth control pills !" Gabriel stared at Teresa. Although his eyes had so much to say, this is all that he said.
"Yes, Boss." Finley didn’t have any time to be surprised, he quickly opened the door and dashed out into the rain with an umbrella.
"It seems the man from last night wasn't Liam." Gabriel added, he wasn’t even sure about what he was feeling at that moment.
But Teresa didn’t respond, simply turning her head away to look out the car window.
Soon Finley returned with five prophylactic, because he wasn’t sure if one would be enough.
With a simple "thanks," Teresa accepted them. Even though she knew one would be enough, she still popped out all of them.
Gabriel started to look gloomy as she was about to pop all five pills into her mouth at once, he grabbed her wrist to stop her..
"Finley, are you a pig? Don't you know one is enough!" Although he was actually angry at Teresa, but Finley was the one to take the blame.
Quickly, he turned around, grinned at Teresa, and reached out his hand, saying, “Yeah, Teresa, that was my bad. One pill would do.”
Teresa glanced at Finley dismissively and, without a word, she tried to put all five pilled in her mouth.
But Gabriel was faster..
Without hesitation, Gabriel stretched out his other hand, blocking her mouth and swiftly snatching the four surplus pills from her palm. Irritated for unknown reasons , he rolled down the car window and tossed the pills outside.
Teresa gave him a look but remained silent, quietly put the only pill into her mouth. Struggling to swallow, a bottle of spring water was promptly handed to her.
"Thanks!" She took the bottle without even looking at Gabriel. After a gulp of water, Teresa tilted her head back, swallowed the pill, and then curled up and leaned on the car door, slowly fell asleep.
Gabriel pretended to review documents, yet his attention was still all drawn to Teresa. He couldn't understand why he was so intrigued by this brazen woman he'd only just met.
Noticing the half-full water bottle in Teresa's grasp begin to tilt, he quickly reached over and steadied it in her hand.
What a silly woman! She could’ve just given me the bottle.
Now, seeing the small figure asleep against the car door, Gabriel gently removed the water from her hands and discreetly turned up the heating in the backseat.
...
As if equipped with a built-in radar, the moment the car stopped in front of The Bennett family's villa, Teresa woke up.
In a daze, as if sleepwalking, she pushed the car door open and stepped out without giving Gabriel a look, left the door open.
Gabriel couldn't take his eyes off her until her thin body had completely vanished from view. “Shit, the door is still open” leaning in to close the door, then he ordered the driver to head back to the Garcia family estate.
He must be out of his mind, just like Teresa. That’s why he took her home.
And for what? A wasted couple of hours without so much as a ‘thank you’.
Teresa was seriously lacking in manners and grace. He just couldn't understand why Liam liked her, probably he was also out of his mind.
