568 William and Hayden
As she pondered, the sound of Gabriel and William's cheerful banter drifted in from the doorway. William's deep, pleasant, and sensuous voice was truly delightful to the ears. Hayden's heartbeat quickened uncontrollably just from hearing it.
They entered together, and she raised her gaze, meeting William's eyes. In an instant, the joy on William's face vanished, replaced by a rare coldness.
"Gabriel, William." Hayden greeted them with a faint smile, as if oblivious to William's altered demeanor. She felt a profound sadness within.
"Hayden happened to be nearby, so I invited her to join us for dinner. The restaurant is already booked for the four of us." Teresa, noticing William's unease, swiftly approached, latching onto William's arm with a radiant smile.
Standing to the side, Gabriel wrapped his long arms around Teresa. "Time is not on our side. Let's go."
"I just remembered I have a little..."
"The restaurant is already booked nearby, let's go." Teresa quickly interjected upon hearing William's attempt to make an excuse to leave.
"William, if you are not willing to join me for dinner, there's no need to force yourself." Hayden looked at William, mustering a smile as she spoke elegantly.
William's demeanor towards her was undeniably frosty. It was better for him to leave than for everyone to feel awkward later on.
Staring at her, William coldly stated, "Since Hayden said so, it will be my fault if I don't go. Let's go!"
Hayden felt a deep pain in her heart. Despite this, she said nothing more, picked up her bag, and swiftly walked out.
They arrived downstairs. After Teresa and Gabriel got into their car, William, who had his own car and driver, walked over to her car.
Before she could react, he had already gotten into her car and closed the door.
Looking at William's face so close, feeling his warm breath, Hayden's heartbeat and breathing became unsteady.
She made an effort to calm herself and instructed the driver to head to the restaurant Teresa had booked.
"Hayden, are you not satisfied yet?" Just as the driver was about to set off, William suddenly growled softly in her ear.
Hayden looked at him, holding back tears, and growled softly as well, "William, are you blind or oblivious? I..."
Before she could finish speaking, William gripped the back of her head and kissed her lips. He bit and nibbled at her, almost frantic.
Unable to bear it, Hayden began to struggle against him. But William restrained her, staring at her fiercely as he growled harshly, "Hayden, are you truly fearless, or do you really think I can't live without you?"
Tears streamed down Hayden's face. "Yes, I was selfish before, I wronged you, but do you think I wanted it that way?"
"You didn't want it. So why are you here now?" William's gaze darkened in anger as he looked at the tear-streaked Hayden.
"I have come to beg for your forgiveness, to tell you that from the very beginning until now, I have loved only you. Can't you understand?" Hayden's voice grew louder, tears pouring down her cheeks.
"You love only me, and you expect forgiveness from me!" William sneered. Catching a glimpse of an upscale club outside the car window, he growled at the driver in front, "Stop!"
The driver was already on edge. Startled by William's outburst, he trembled, quickly hit the brakes, and parked the car by the roadside.
As soon as the car stopped, William opened the door, pulled Hayden out of the car.
"What are you doing?" Hayden was puzzled, struggling slightly.
"Shut up!" William growled lowly, forcefully pulling her out of the car. They made their way to the club and entered the elevator.
Hayden knew this was a club under the Bennett Group. The people in the club, upon seeing William, respectfully and obediently made way for him, with no one daring to impede his path.
