Chapter 213

"Sir, I'm certain Gabriel's gone after Teresa. Please, calm down!" the butler hastily consoled Mason, gently patting his back to calm him down.

Mason thought for a moment, his anger waned slightly at the realization that Gabriel was probably chasing after Teresa. Taking a deep breath, he instructed, "That woman, Kay Baxter, I never want to see her anywhere again. Whatever it takes, I want her career over, permanently."

"Yes, sir, rest assured, I will handle the matter and ensure Teresa is vindicated," the butler replied immediately, nodding in agreement.

In the bedroom, Kay was eavesdropping from behind the door. Hearing Mason's words, she turned ashen with fear. Quickly, she flung the door open, limping towards Mason, and pleaded desperately, "Mr. Garcia, I did no wrong, there was nothing inappropriate between Gabriel and I; it was all Gabriel’s idea and I was just tagging along"

"Humph!" Mason sneered at the terrified woman before him, "Are you a puppet? You just do as my grandson says without thinking for yourself? If you harbored the thought of wrecking someone's marriage, you should've been prepared for the worst."

With those words, he refused to give Kay another glance and walked away without looking back.

"Sir, please listen to me, I didn't try to ruin Gabriel and Teresa's marriage, I really didn't," Kay pleaded, trying to reach him, but the bodyguard blocked her path, her struggles and shouts utterly futile...

……
Teresa returned to the Garcia family estate.

Raymond and Katherine were already up and had heard about Gabriel's scandalous night at the hotel with Kay Baxter. They also knew that Teresa and Mason had hurried to the hotel one after the other as dawn barely broke.

Katherine was anxious to go to the hotel herself, but Raymond had stopped her.

Since Mason had already gone, their presence would only be superfluous.
Watching Teresa return, her once lively spirit now drained, her pale face visibly troubled, Katherine immediately went over, took Teresa's hand, and comforted her, "Teresa, you mustn't believe those messy reports. I trust that Gabriel only loves you, he would never mess around."

"Raymond, Katherine," Teresa looked at them, managing a weak smile, "I’m sorry, but Gabriel and I just aren't right for each other. It’s best we go our separate ways. I’ll take Michael back to the Bennett's now."

With those words, Teresa pulled her hand away from Katherine's grip and strode toward the high chair in the dining room where little Michael sat drinking milk from his bottle.

"Mommy?” the kid, sensing Teresa’s approach, noticed the tears in her eyes and stopped drinking his milk. His little lips puckered in sadness, "Mommy’s crying again, some baddie upset Mommy. I’m gonna beat up the baddie."

"Sweetie." Teresa quickly closed the gap, swept Michael into her arms, and kissed his forehead earnestly. At that moment, her tears escaped and fell.

It was okay to be without Gabriel; after all, she still had her son.

Hadn't it been just fine before Gabriel? It had always been them two. Without Gabriel, they would be even better.

"Mommy, don’t cry. If you cry, I wanna cry too…" As Teresa's hot tears fell onto Michael’s cheeks, he looked up, reached with his pudgy hands to wipe the tears from her face, and then burst into tears himself.

"Alright, Mommy won't cry, and you won't cry!" Teresa kissed Michael quickly, trying to stop her tears and smiling through the effort, she comforted him, "Your grandparents and uncle miss you so much. Shall we go to their house?"

"Teresa, you can't just take Michael away when you’re upset; we haven’t sorted this out yet." Katherine wouldn’t have it, she hurried over, blocking their exit, "Listen to me, Raymond is calling Gabriel back this instant. If he has truly been reckless, if he wronged you in any way, we will not let it slide."

"Teresa, don't worry. I’m on your side," Raymond added, doing his best to calm Teresa, "If Gabriel has indeed caused trouble, we will take care of it for you."

"Thank you." Teresa held the little one close and turned to face Raymond and Katherine, her eyes brimming with tears as she forced a smile, "But this is something Gabriel and I need to handle on our own. We'll make our own decisions."

With those words, Teresa walked away, holding her son.

"Teresa, wait, at least wait for Gabriel to get back so you can talk things through before you leave!" Katherine quickly stepped in front of her to stop her.

She was truly worried that if Teresa got too stubborn, they might never see their grandson again. What then?

"Let her go!"

Just then, a deep and raspy voice echoed from the direction of the hall. It was none other but Gabriel himself, astonishingly still wearing the bathrobe from the hotel.

Raymond glared at him, anger flaring up in an instant, his face turning to steel as he bellowed, "You bastard, say that again!"

"I said, let her go." Gabriel's gaze met Teresa's.
