Chapter 604 No Possibility of Reconciliation
Hayden indeed woke up in the afternoon.
Patrick and Sophia, who had attended a conference out of town, came back and learned that Hayden had given birth. They went to the hospital with Teresa in the afternoon to see her and the babies.
With Teresa around, Hayden seemed to be in better spirits.
Over the next few days, Teresa visited the hospital daily to keep Hayden company and check on Chloe and Logan.
Chloe and Logan were eating well, sleeping soundly, and growing quickly. In just a week, they had gained almost a pound.
Seeing them grow healthier and more beautiful every day, and having Teresa by her side, Hayden's recovery was progressing well. The incision on her lower abdomen had healed, and she could move around freely.
One evening, as Hayden was walking in the garden with Teresa, Jasper suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
After learning about Hayden's safe delivery, Jasper had been forcibly called back to the Imperial Capital by Maxwell. When he heard about Hayden's uterine hemorrhage and emergency surgery a few days later, he was caught up in other matters and couldn't leave. It wasn't until today that he finally managed to come to River North.
"You look good, seems like you're recovering well," Jasper said, still with his nonchalant playboy demeanor.
"Jasper, sneaking up from behind like that is quite scary," Teresa teased with a smile.
Jasper chuckled, "With your noble status, how could I dare to scare you? If I did, I would have to apologize sincerely."
Hayden looked at him and smiled, getting straight to the point, "Jasper, you still haven't given me an answer. Can you tell me now?"
Looking at Hayden, Jasper pretended to be clueless and furrowed his brows. "What answer?"
"Do you or do you not want to marry me?" Hayden asked straightforwardly.
Jasper lowered his head and chuckled at her straightforwardness.
Teresa couldn't help but be surprised. What was Hayden doing?
"Is it because you don't have a better option than me?" After a moment of silence, Jasper looked back at Hayden and asked.
Hayden raised her eyebrows, "We're well-matched and can benefit each other by being together."
"Alright." To everyone's surprise, Jasper agreed without hesitation. "Once you're fully recovered and Chloe and Logan are out of the incubator and back in the Imperial Capital, we can discuss the wedding details."
"You... agreed?" Hayden was taken aback by Jasper's quick decision.
Not only Hayden but also Teresa was surprised. After all, Jasper was William's best friend.
"Yes!" Jasper nodded, saying, "Unless you've changed your mind about marrying me."
Seeing his prompt response, Hayden suddenly smiled. "Of course, I will marry you."
In that moment, Hayden's smile was truly heartfelt, and she no longer felt so sad.
Who said she had to marry the one she loved? With Chloe and Logan, she could still live a good life.
"Should I start preparing the wedding gift now?" Teresa asked, seeing them both so serious.
Hayden nodded. "Yes, it has to be a grand gift, or I won't accept it."
During these days, Teresa had been coming to the hospital every day to accompany her and the babies, but she never mentioned William.
It seemed that William had truly made up his mind. They were at a point of no return in their relationship.
Since that was the case, why should she dwell in sadness? She might as well truly forget everything and move on.
That sounded perfect.
Teresa replied with a smile and said, "Of course."
