Chapter 277 Formidable Gabriel
"I'm going to skin this ungrateful brat alive today!" Christine's husband shouted as he trembled with rage. "Where is he? Bring him here. I'll punish him myself!"
The Bezos family was no longer what it once was, barely surviving with the support of the Garcias.
Combined with the prospect of their son Brian bringing ruin to the Bezos family, the father was fuming to the point of nearly passing out.
"No need to search, uncle. The boy's here," Gabriel reclined in his chair with a calm demeanor, legs crossed. He flashed a sly grin and signaled the bodyguard. "Bring him in."
Teresa sat beside him, watching his demonic yet fierce demeanor, realizing for the first time how truly terrifying this man could be.
Fortunately, he had fallen for her, and she had fallen for him.
Otherwise, if he ever stopped loving her, she knew she would suffer a terrible fate at his hands.
"Yes, sir," the bodyguard responded promptly and went to carry out the order.
"Bring him... bring him in?" Christine trembled as she looked toward Gabriel, "Gabriel, what happened to Brian?"
Although Brian was not her only son, he was still her flesh and blood. How could she not be worried sick about him?
"He's pushed my buttons one too many times, don't you think, Christine?" Gabriel glanced at Christine, a half-smirk playing on his lips, devoid of any real amusement.
"Gabriel, you can count on it. Whether that rebel son wants to or not, his bone marrow is yours for the taking, anytime, as much as you need," Christine's husband, a man who had seen his fair share of the world, understood that preserving his family's interests was paramount.
"Of course, we must take the marrow. Or did you really think the Bezos Group's $500 million sponsorship was charity, Raymond?" Katherine was livid, shooting a lethal glare at her brother-in-law, her voice almost a roar.
If the Bezos family had any self-awareness, they'd see their true worth. Without Christine, Raymond's own sister, and the crucial use of Brian's bone marrow, would the Garcia family have ever supported their feeble efforts?
"Yes, exactly!" Christine's husband quickly nodded in agreement. "You're right, sis. It wasn't charity. I've failed to discipline Brian properly. Don't be angry, please. I'll take him back and make sure he never does anything to upset Teresa and Gabriel again."
Katherine, seething with anger and disappointment, shot the couple a fierce look before striding toward Teresa and Gabriel. Noting Teresa's bruised face, she asked with concern, "Teresa, are you all right?"
Teresa, looking at Katherine, shook her head with a faint smile. "Mom, I've already treated my face. It's okay now."
"Gabriel, Teresa, Brian must have been out of his mind. He would never have done such a thing in the past. He's your cousin, you must understand—"
"I can't deal with a cousin like that, let alone any more excuses from Christine," Gabriel interjected coldly, cutting her off.
Just then, a commotion at the door drew everyone's attention.
Shock crossed the faces of Christine and her husband as they saw Brian being dragged in, eyes closed, looking as if he were dead, supported on each side. Wrapped in bandages, his light-colored suit torn and stained with blood, his face as pale as a sheet, it was a startling sight.
"This... this..." Staring at Brian, Christine was too terrified to speak, frozen in place. Her husband, too, stood there dumbfounded, at a loss for words.
Gabriel had really done a number on the guy. Even Christine and her husband were taken aback, not to mention Katherine, whose surprise was evident, and the housekeepers were all beyond words.
"Take Brian away," Gabriel instructed coolly, barely glancing at the battered man dragged before them. He arched his attractive eyebrows and added, "And make sure he doesn't offend my sweetheart and me again."
"But Gabriel, Brian's your cousin. You've played together since you were kids. How could you be so ruthless? What if something happens to him—"
"Christine, enough!" he said sharply, cutting her off.
Her eruption into angry accusations was abruptly stopped by her husband, who quickly intervened.
"Sis, Gabriel, what Brian did was wrong. I'll take care of it and ensure it never happens again."
Watching Katherine and Gabriel say their piece, Christine's husband took her by the arm, and together, they left with Brian, who was barely holding on to life.
Once they were gone, Katherine couldn't help but shiver and turned to Gabriel, "Wasn't that a bit harsh, Gabriel?"
"Mom, he's not going to die," Gabriel reassured her before wrapping an arm around Teresa and looking down at her with a gentle voice, "Sweetheart, let's go check out the kids' drawings."
"You go ahead. I want to stay with Mom a bit longer," Teresa declined without hesitation.
Gabriel frowned slightly, "Then I'll stay, too."
"Go on, go watch Michael draw," Katherine urged, waving her hand impatiently. She knew Gabriel was like Velcro when it came to Teresa, always wanting to be by her side.
She had come to terms with it. As long as her son Gabriel was happy, she was content.
"See, I told you Mom would be fine," Gabriel said as he stood up, pulling Teresa to her feet. "Let's go, sweetheart!"
Teresa glared at him playfully. He was such a scamp.
