Chapter 602 Hayden Remains Unconscious
After dinner, William showed no intention of asking Michelle to stay overnight. Michelle knew better than to try any tricks to stay and annoy William. After all, she would be moving in with William tomorrow, so she wasn't in a rush for this night.
So Michelle voluntarily cleaned up the dishes and table. Before William could ask her to leave, she took the initiative and said, "It's getting late; you should rest early. See you tomorrow."
"It's okay. I can take a taxi or have the driver take me; you don't need to waste time to sent me." Michelle said considerately.
However, William insisted and took the car keys, saying to Michelle, "Let's go."
Since he insisted on giving her a ride, Michelle naturally didn't delay any further and happily went out with him to the underground garage. When the two entered the elevator, Michelle cautiously went over and held William's arm. William glanced at her and didn't reject her intimacy, allowing her to hold his arm all the way to the garage and get into the car.
Michelle's apartment was not far from where he lived, just a ten-minute drive. After dropping Michelle off at her apartment building and watching her figure disappear from his sight. However, after driving for a few minutes, he couldn't resist going to the hospital where Hayden was.
Arriving at the VIP ward where Hayden was hospitalized, he didn't get out of the car. Instead, he parked directly under Hayden's room window, turned off the engine, and lit a cigarette.
Hayden had another severe bleeding episode and was taken into the operating room. Although she was out of immediate danger, she remained unconscious. The doctors mentioned that her uterus was now very fragile, almost as thin as a piece of paper. Any further stimulation or emotional stress could lead to another severe bleeding episode, and she might have to undergo a hysterectomy even if she survived.
Therefore, William couldn't afford to appear at this time, to avoid causing any more stress to her. In Hayden's room, Isabella, Melissa, and the nurse were keeping watch. Isabella slept in the outer lounge on a makeshift bed, while Melissa slept on the sofa inside.
When Melissa finished freshening up and was about to close the curtains to sleep, she happened to notice the black Land Rover parked below the window. If she remembered correctly, William also owned a similar black Land Rover. Could it be William?
Turning back and looking at the figure lying quietly on the bed under the dim yellow light, Hayden, who was still unconscious and unresponsive, Melissa couldn't help but sigh.
Earlier in the day, when William took Jocelyn to the safe passage, Melissa, who was nearby, faintly overheard some of William and Jocelyn's conversation.
She seemed to have heard Jocelyn saying that William was not worthy of Hayden and mentioned something about Hayden being her own sister, implying that she would trust her sister over William. There was also a mention of William's sister, Teresa, but Melissa didn't catch the specifics.
Jocelyn was really up to no good. It seemed like she wasn't going to give up until Hayden was overwhelmed with her affairs. Once Hayden's condition improved, Melissa felt it necessary to talk to Hayden about what she overheard between William and Jocelyn.
After a sigh, Melissa finally closed the curtains. Downstairs, William smoked several cigarettes until he finished a whole pack. It was past one in the morning when he finally left.
In the early hours of the morning, the Garcia family's private plane landed at River North International Airport. Hearing about Hayden's premature delivery due to stress, followed by another severe bleeding episode that required surgery, Teresa and Gabriel, who couldn't stay in Frostpeak Republic any longer and rushed back.
Upon landing, Teresa didn't go back to the Garcia family or the Bennett family. Instead, she went straight to the hospital to see Hayden. When she and Gabriel arrived at the hospital, it was early in the morning, and the doctor had just finished checking Hayden's condition and left the room.
Although Hayden was still unconscious, her vital signs were stable. Barring any complications, she should wake up today. Teresa and Gabriel managed to inquire about Hayden's condition from the doctor and then went to her room. Seeing Hayden lying motionless on the bed, her face was pale as a sheet, Teresa couldn't hold back her tears.
Gabriel hugged her and, seeing her so upset, his handsome brows furrowed as he comforted her, "Darling, the doctor just said that Hayden is out of danger now. She will recover soon."
Teresa looked at Gabriel with teary eyes and nodded. Then she hold Hayden's hand, saying, "Hayden, you must get better soon. Chloe, Logan, my brother, they all need you. There must be some misunderstanding between you and my brother. When you recover, talk to him and clear up the misunderstanding. You can be happy together."
After mentioning Chloe and Logan, Teresa stayed with Hayden for a while before going with Gabriel to see the children.
Even though Chloe and Logan were still very young, Teresa couldn't help but adore them. They were William and Hayden's children, after all, and as their loving aunt, she couldn't be happier.
However, Gabriel was reminded of the child they lost due to his selfishness.
When Teresa was pregnant with Robert, Gabriel had done nothing to support her. Thinking about this, Gabriel felt immense guilt and self-blame, tightening his grip on Teresa's shoulder as he held her.
