Chapter 43 A Harrowing Night

The car screeched to a halt outside the emergency room, and Gabriel, carrying Teresa in his arms, hurried inside. Medical staff, prepared for their arrival, whisked Teresa away on a gurney as Gabriel followed, his hand gripping hers. But as they reached the ER, the doctor barred him from entering, despite Teresa's evident agony.

"Please, save my baby," Teresa pleaded. Her plea was followed by urgent shouts of a hemorrhage, and Gabriel was left staring at the closed doors of the ER, his heart was in turmoil.

Finley arrived, handed over Teresa's ringing phone. It was Liam, and Gabriel's mind raced with implications. He silenced the phone, his mind was going crazy with the potential fallout of the night's events.

The clock is ticking. When the doctor finally emerged, Gabriel braced for the worst. "Relax," the doctor said, "both the mother and child are safe now." Relief washed over Gabriel, and he rushed to Teresa.

Inside, Teresa was still unconscious, but she looked worried. . Gabriel's touch was tender as he caressed her, his voice full of regrets. "I'm so sorry, Teresa. I promise I won't make you sad ever again."

Finley watched, struck by his boss's uncharacteristic vulnerability. Gabriel's feelings for Teresa had clearly deepened, complicating their already messy lives.

When Teresa was settled in the VIP ward, Gabriel remained by her side, ignoring the persistent calls from Liam and Sophia on her phone. He knew the silence would cause alarm, but he couldn't bring himself to answer.

Teresa opened her eyes, and immediately asked for her phone. Gabriel hesitated but handed it over as she missed a call from her worried mother. Despite her irritation with Gabriel, Teresa accepted his help to reposition her pillows.

After assuring her mother that she was fine, Teresa attempted to leave the bed, but Gabriel intervened. "What do you think you’re doing?" he asked sounded concerned. Teresa's stubbornness was clear, she wanted to leave, but Gabriel knew her parents would notice something was wrong.

"I don't want to stay with you anyway" Teresa said, her voice sharp. Gabriel, in a rare show of surrender, agreed to leave and, with a heavy heart, dialed Liam’s number.
