Chapter 186
Gabriel glanced up, his eyes sweeping over the row of bunny girls, and his expression immediately soured.
"Come on, I know you're all lovey-dovey with your wife all the time, but hey, relax a bit when you're out!" Noticing Gabriel's grim face, one of his buddies patted his leg and leaned in with a cheeky grin, whispering, "Sure, they're no match for your wife, but they're fresh."
With an inscrutable look, Gabriel surveyed the buoyant crowd. He couldn't just walk out and make things awkward for everyone. "These girls might be fresh, but they can't hold a candle to my wife," he replied with a half-hearted smile, "Enjoy yourselves, people. I'm going to go take a call."
With that, he rose from his seat and made his way out.
Although he stepped out, his departure was neither noticed nor cared for, as everyone was busy summoning the party girls over. Embraces started being exchanged amongst them, yet amidst the ten party-goers, one bit her lip and quietly followed Gabriel after she saw him leave.
Gabriel found a quiet spot, then pulled out his phone to text Teresa, inquiring how she was enjoying her night.
But hardly had he sent the message when two slender arms wrapped around him from behind, hugging him tightly around the waist.
The sound of the club had drowned out any footsteps, so when Gabriel felt the unexpected embrace, he automatically seized hold of the assailant's arms and jerked them away, prepared to toss the assailant over his shoulder. However, just as he was about to execute the move, a scent he knew all too well filled his nostrils.
"Teresa!"
The familiar fragrance thrilled Gabriel. He spun around, but instead of the face he expected, he was greeted by a woman in a revealing bunny costume. The joy on his face instantly turned to an icy coldness, and in the next second, he briskly pushed the woman away from him.
"Ah!"
Gabriel's strength sent Jocelyn sprawling backward; she stumbled and eventually fell to the floor.
Ignoring Jocelyn's pitiable look, with red-rimmed eyes from the fall, Gabriel walked away with long strides without giving her a second thought.
"Gabriel, wait for me!" Jocelyn hurriedly climbed to her feet and threw herself at him, clinging on once again.
"Jocelyn, let go!" His footsteps halted, and he looked down at her, his voice sharp and frosty, sending a shiver through her body.
She was just eighteen, and the sister of Hayden; Gabriel wasn't keen on causing her harm.
"Gabriel, I like you. Please don't leave. Do you mind if I stay with you?" With her head buried in his chest, Jocelyn hugged him even closer as her voice grew incredibly quiet.
"Does your sister know you're such a party animal, Jocelyn?" Gabriel squinted down at her without moving to disentangle himself, his tone still cool.
He knew that Hayden had been both a sister and a mother to Jocelyn for the past decade, sacrificing a great deal for her little sister.
Seeing eighteen-year-old Jocelyn flaunting herself like she was one of those girls, aiming to surrender herself to men's desires was enough to break one's heart.
With all her might, Jocelyn clutched onto him, shaking her head as she nestled in his arms, "Gabriel. I'm passionate about you, which is why I did this. I begged Chad to invite me along since I knew you would be here. Please, keep my sister in the dark. I simply had to see you and be with you; I couldn't resist."
Chad Zimmerman.
The very guy who had suggested Gabriel should 'relax a bit' in the private booth.
Gabriel couldn't help curling his lips in a wry smile. He was pretty certain the Zimmerman family had no blood ties with the Bushes.
"So, you wanna keep me company?" Gabriel scoffed again, lifting Jocelyn's chin with his hand so she was forced to look up into his eyes, "Well then, tell me, how do you plan to 'keep me company'?"
"Gabriel, just... whatever you want, I'm willing to bl..." Jocelyn purred, her eyes shimmering enticingly under the elaborate makeup and the lash extensions. Her sultry voice was almost dripping with seduction. She leaned in closer and began to slide her hand suggestively towards him...
However, before Jocelyn could finish her offer, Gabriel's brow furrowed, and with a quick motion of his hand, he caught hers and flung it away...
"Ah!"
Jocelyn was thrown off balance once again, letting out a sharp cry as she hit the wall and collapsed to the floor.
"Jocelyn, you're not my sister. Whatever you do to degrade yourself is none of my business. But, I would advise you to stay out of my way, or I won't be responsible for preserving your dignity," Gabriel warned her coldly as she lay on the floor. Leaving those words hanging in the air, he turned on his heel and strode out of the club.
Once outside, Gabriel found himself missing Teresa deeply. Without a second thought, he bypassed the hotel and headed straight to the estate owned by Hayden, where Teresa and those ladies were gathered.
These socialites of the capital were quite conversationalists and knew how to enjoy life to the fullest. Teresa had lost track of time in their company. By the time the gathering had wrapped up, and everyone was satisfied with the night's festivities, it was nearing midnight.
