Chapter 331 Tangled Relations and Uncertain Goodbyes

Chapter 331 Tangled Relations and Uncertain Goodbyes
"What kind of relationship do you want with Sugar and Rudy?" Hayden raised an eyebrow, showing that the idea of William didn't bother her.
"I want Sugar to be my goddaughter and Rudy, my godson," Teresa spoke again, caressing Hayden's belly and softly cooing, "What do you say, Sugar and Rudy?"
Hayden chuckled. "All right, having Aunt Unity as their godmother is something they'd be lucky to have. They'd be unstoppable with you in their corner."
"It's settled then. From now on, I'll be Sugar and Rudy's godmother," Teresa exclaimed happily.
Becoming their godmother would facilitate Patrick and Sophia's ability to see the kids in the future.
Hayden teased her, "Do I seem like the type who goes back on her word?"
Teresa laughed. "Then, you're not planning on going abroad again, are you? Why not just stay in River North so I can see my godson and goddaughter more often?"
Remaining in River North? As if that could happen.
Hayden took a deep breath, shook his head, and fibbed. "I'm back mainly because there's some business to take care of at the company over in River North. Once it's all sorted, I'll head back to the Capital."
Teresa felt relieved, understanding that Hayden wasn't planning to travel abroad again. She nodded. "That sounds good. I'll swing by with some croissants and pop in to see you and the kids when I get a chance."
Hayden smiled. "I'd welcome a visit anytime, as long as Gabriel doesn't mind."
"Sweetie, I think it's time for us to head out," Hayden said just as a deep, raspy voice echoed from the doorway.
When they looked up, they noticed Gabriel had already walked in, with Hayden's bodyguard following behind, looking apologetic as he spoke to Hayden, "Sorry, Hayden, we couldn't stop Gabriel."
"That's all right! No harm done. You can leave us," Hayden said nonchalantly, dismissing the bodyguard with a wave.
"Understood." The bodyguard nodded and promptly retreated.
Gabriel barely acknowledged Hayden, not bothering to greet her, and walked over to lift Teresa from her seat effortlessly.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Teresa squirmed, glaring at him.
"Lunchtime. You need to eat and then take your medicine. We're leaving," Gabriel declared and, with Teresa in his arms, turned to leave.
"Hey, I still have a lot to talk about with Hayden. Put me down," Teresa objected, pounding on his chest.
"There's nothing left to say. You're still recovering, so eat first, medication later," Gabriel insisted, carrying her away without another word.
Hayden sat on the couch, watching Gabriel shower Teresa with affection. The sparkle in her eyes couldn't be contained, but eventually, it began to fade.
In the grand banquet hall downstairs of the mansion, as the engagement party concluded and guests began to depart, Teresa and Gabriel were conspicuously absent.
Liam, accompanied by Kyle and a few others from their table, left together as the celebration came to a close. However, just as Liam was about to get into his car, someone rushed over, calling out to him. Turning around, he saw Finley, who was near Faith.
"Liam, Miss Faith would like to have a word with you, a proper talk."
"There's nothing I need to discuss with Faith unless it's about getting back together. Anything else, she can drop me a line," Liam said calmly, giving Finley a brief look before getting into his car.
"Liam, Miss Finley wants to talk to you about breaking up," Faith called out to him urgently, catching Liam just as he was getting into his car.
Upon hearing her words, Liam halted in his movements, his foot retracting to the ground. Although he had already decided to break things off with Faith, she had been making significant efforts in the past few weeks to salvage their relationship. However, Liam remained steadfast in his decision, showing no signs of wavering.
Now, it seemed that Faith had finally come around. Naturally, he was willing to meet with her.
"Lead the way," Liam instructed without a second thought, his tone cool and detached.
"Yes, Liam, this way, please," Faith responded promptly, gesturing for him to follow.
He nodded and made his way toward the elevator.
Upstairs, in the suite, Faith had recently come back from William and Michelle's engagement party. She had switched into different attire and freshened up her makeup. Standing before the mirror, she appeared stunning in a form-fitting dress, her face flawlessly adorned. When suddenly…
Ding-dong, ding-dong!
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Swiftly, Faith seized the designer perfume she had carefully chosen and generously sprayed it on herself.
After a few sprays, she inspected herself in the mirror again to ensure she looked impeccable before hurrying to the door.
"Liam." she breathed out as she opened the door, her heart racing uncontrollably at the sight of the tall, handsome man before her.
At first, she hadn't realized how much she actually liked Liam
But ever since he brought up the idea of breaking up, she realized she had genuinely developed feelings for him. Liam was a rare find in the country—mature, stable, good-looking, and part of the affluent elite. William had been another option, but now he was engaged.
Liam barely glanced at the impeccably dressed Faith as he nodded curtly and stepped past her into the suite.
As he passed by her, an intense fragrance of perfume invaded his nostrils, forcefully penetrating his senses. He had detected the scent the moment Faith opened the door, although it hadn't been as overpowering as it was now.
He remembered that Faith's usual perfume wasn't this. Slightly irritated, his brow furrowed imperceptibly.
After Liam entered the room, Faith turned to close the door. She shot a meaningful look outside at Finley, who understood the signal and nodded, discreetly stepping aside.
"Want something to drink?" With a rosy tint on her cheeks, Faith asked as she closed the door and looked at Liam, who stood not too far away. Her heart raced, pounding relentlessly within her chest.
