Chapter 325 Tempest of Love and Turmoil

Chapter 325 Tempest of Love and Turmoil
"Give me the phone," Gabriel interjected firmly, taking the phone from her hand as she finished speaking.
"My dear." she started.
"Hayden, you and William are not spring chickens anymore. Please, stop troubling my Sweetheart with your affair."
Before Teresa could finish speaking affectionately, Gabriel had already intervened, speaking harshly into her phone and then abruptly ending the call.
Hayden was left speechless on the other end of the line.
This husband, who adored pampering his wife, appeared to have taken his affection to an extreme level!
Leaning against the headboard, Teresa watched the man radiating fury in front of her, speechless.
After disconnecting her call, Gabriel wasn't content just with that; he went a step further by powering off her phone and casually tossing it onto the couch several feet away.
Teresa continued to watch him quietly, a silent question in her eyes.
"What's the problem?"
"Sweetie, are you thirsty? Do you want some water or maybe some fruit?" Gabriel's ire seemed to vanish as soon as the phone left his hands, as if the man who had just been yelling hardly a moment ago wasn't him at all.
Now, the man in front of Teresa was all smiles and charming, incredibly accommodating, and eager to please in every possible way.
"Hand me my phone," Teresa requested calmly, without a hint of irritation.
"Sweetie, your brother, and Hayden are over a decade older than you, and they're neither foolish nor frail. You're sick. Why worry about their issues?" Gently holding Teresa’s hand as if it were a precious gem, Gabriel coaxed her with a cheery smile.
"Are you going to give it to me or not?" Teresa's voice, though still calm and composed, became slightly deeper.
"Sweetie."
"I'll get it myself." Before Gabriel could finish, Teresa withdrew her hand and made to get out of bed.
"Okay!" Gabriel capitulated immediately, holding her shoulders to keep her from moving, "I'll get it. I'll get it right now."
Teresa glanced at him, her gaze showing a slight nod of approval.
That's more like it!
After ensuring she was comfortably settled in bed, Gabriel quickly fetched her phone. But before handing it over, he couldn't resist pleading, "Sweetie, can you just listen to me and stay out of your brother and Hayden's business? They know their hearts better than anyone, and managing major corporations, they're much more clear-headed and sensible than you think. If they want to reconcile, they will, without anyone stirring things up."
Gabriel realized that in Teresa's presence, he was beginning to act like an overbearing older woman, fussing more than anyone else.
In public, Gabriel typically portrayed the strong, silent type—distant, speaking little, and recognized for his decisive actions. But that demeanor disappeared entirely when he was around Teresa.
As she watched him, Teresa bit her lip thoughtfully. She was beginning to see the truth in his demeanor.
Despite her efforts as a peacekeeper, it seemed to have little effect. After all, matters of the heart were as individual as one's preference for water—whether cold or warm, only the person drinking knows. Teresa was unaware of William and Hayden's history, and truthfully, she had no business meddling in their affairs.
"You're right," Teresa conceded with a nod, then added, "But you don't mind me caring about Hayden and my niece and nephew, do you?"
Gabriel met her gaze, speechless.
Caring about Hayden and the unborn child was essentially the same as getting involved in William and Hayden's matters.
"Hand me your phone," Teresa requested, reaching out her hand.
Gabriel, reluctant to upset her, handed his phone over to her reluctantly.
"Forget it. The phone is full of spam. It's nice and quiet with it off. Give me the book instead." Just as Teresa was about to grab the phone, she changed her mind mid-reach.
Ever since Lauren's suicide attempt made headlines, followed by the entire disclosure of the incident, news of Teresa's injury caused by Lauren had also been revealed.
Teresa received an outpouring of sympathetic messages and calls. She initially wanted to ignore them, but she knew she couldn't keep that up forever.
Turning off the phone seemed like the best option for peace of mind, especially since Gabriel also needed a quiet environment.
"Sweetheart, you're so good." Gabriel beamed, giving Teresa an affectionate kiss on her forehead before he picked up her study materials for her PhD.
Teresa took them and started to read intently.
Gabriel observed her intently, fascinated by her concentration despite her pale complexion and barely tinted lips. Even though it had been almost four days since he was hospitalized without her touch, seeing her still profoundly affected him.
Unable to resist, he sat at the head of the bed, carefully pulling her into his arms. Then, gently, he tilted her chin to turn her face toward him.
"Gabriel, you..."
Before she could finish, Gabriel's kiss silenced her words.
One of Teresa's hands was connected to an IV, and the other was held down by Gabriel, leaving her unable to push him away.
However, it wasn't long before she got swept up in the urgency and passion of Gabriel's embrace, sinking into it and responding to him.
He couldn't tell how long they had been tangled up, but when I could feel Teresa starting to run out of breath, giving a slight squirm, finally, Gabriel let her go. He sprang to his feet with a whoosh and bolted toward the bathroom.
As she watched him hurry into the bathroom and slam the door shut, Teresa couldn't help but burst into laughter, feeling unusually cheerful and chirpy, "Honey, need a hand?"
"Just you wait till you're all better. I'm going to get you!" he called out from behind the door.
Teresa smirked, feeling triumphant.
