Chapter 499 William and Hayden Part (100)

"Sylvia, I'm back."

Maddox returned to the suite and closed the door behind him. He noticed that the door to the main bedroom was open, but no sound came from inside. He called out.

However, he has yet to receive a response from Hayden.

Unable to get a response, Maddox placed the late-night snack he had brought on the dining table, took off his coat, and casually put it on the sofa. Then, he headed toward the main bedroom.

Arriving at the main bedroom door, he knocked, but still, there was no response.

"Sylvia?" Maddox was uneasy and called again from outside the door.

But I am still waiting for a response.

In an instant, Maddox furrowed his brow lightly.

She wouldn't be taking a shower, would she?

Thinking so, Maddox turned around to go and set up the late-night snack and beer.

But as soon as he turned around, he suddenly felt something was wrong. Immediately, he turned back and looked into the main bedroom.

"Sylvia!" Maddox was shocked to see Hayden lying unconscious on the carpet beside the bed. He hurried over, picked her up, and lightly tapped her cheek. "Sylvia, wake up!"

However, Hayden showed no response at all.

There was no response, and Hayden's face was particularly pale. Even in her unconscious state, there was sweat on her forehead.

Realizing the situation's urgency, Maddox immediately took out his phone and dialed for emergency medical assistance.

After hanging up the phone, he quickly carried Hayden and rushed out without wasting a second.

At the hospital, William stood outside the emergency room, bathed in backlight, his distinctively handsome face hidden in the shadows, leaving no clues about his emotions at this moment.

He was afraid that Patrick and Sophia would be too worried, so William temporarily kept the news of Teresa's injury from them.

Fortunately, after a short while, a doctor came out of the emergency room and informed him that Teresa's injury was not serious, just a fracture in her left hand and some external injuries.

William breathed a sigh of relief.

Teresa was seven years younger than him and had just turned eighteen not long ago. Her life had not truly begun yet.

If anything happened to her because of him, he would never forgive himself for the rest of his life.

However, just as he let out a sigh of relief, the elevator doors opened nearby, and medical staff pushed a stretcher out of the elevator, hurrying toward another emergency room where William was.

William didn't see who was lying on the stretcher, but when he glanced over, he suddenly frowned deeply and immediately looked at the person on the stretcher...

The woman lying on the stretcher was Hayden!

William rushed over.

Hayden lay on the stretcher, her eyes closed, her face pale and completely motionless.

"Hayden!" Almost instinctively, William grabbed Hayden's hand and looked at her, his handsome eyebrows furrowing tightly.

Her hands were freezing when William held her hand, and in that instant, the temperature seemed to fade away from his entire body.

Maddox followed closely behind, observing William's nervous, worried, and even fearful expression, which only confirmed their relationship.

"Hayden, Hayden!" he tightly grasped Hayden's hand, but she didn't respond in the slightest. William gently stroked her pale cheek with his other hand, saying, "Hayden, wake up!"

As the medical staff pushed Hayden toward the emergency room entrance, William considered following but was stopped by one of the medical staff members.

"Sir, please stop."

William abruptly raised his head and looked at the doctor standing in front of him. He furrowed his brows intensely, then glanced at Hayden lying unresponsive on the bed. Only then did he quickly release her hand and watch her being pushed into the emergency room.

When the emergency room doors closed, he suddenly realized something and immediately turned around. He grabbed Maddox by the collar, looking at him with veins popping on his forehead, and asked, unable to restrain himself, "What happened to her? Why did she faint?"

Maddox looked at the enraged William in front of him, but he wasn't angry. Instead, he smirked and said, "William, shouldn't you be asking yourself that?"

"What do you mean?" William lost his composure and angrily demanded.

"As soon as I came back, I found Sylvia passed out in the master bedroom," Maddox said, smiling again. Then he asked, "During the time I was away, did William not see Sylvia or have any disputes with her?"

Staring at him, William's once-filled eyes, once filled with anger and coldness, suddenly darkened. He gradually loosened his grip on Maddox's collar and let go.

When he left, Hayden was fine. Why did she faint?

William turned around and looked at the closed doors outside the emergency room. He furrowed his brows tightly, rested one hand against the wall, and even contemplated hitting his head against the wall.

Jeffrey stood beside him, observing William's appearance. Compared to his beloved sister Teresa, William was obviously more anxious and concerned about Hayden, who had just been pushed into the operating room.

Although Jeffrey was unaware of what had happened between William and Hayden in Southern, he did know that Hayden had already been living with William. He called William twice, and Hayden answered both calls. He also heard Hayden's voice multiple times when calling William.

However, he didn't understand what had happened in the middle. Since William returned to the country, he had almost lost touch with Hayden, and they went their separate ways.

He thought William and Hayden had broken up.

However, from everything William had done for Hayden today and his current demeanor, Jeffrey was clear that even if they had really broken up, it was only Hayden's decision.

After a while, the emergency room doors opened, and Teresa was pushed out from inside.

However, her arm was broken, and she had been under anesthesia during the surgery, so she was still unconscious.

"William, Miss is alright now." Seeing Teresa being pushed out, Jeffrey immediately walked to William's side and said.

Only then did William turn around and glance at Teresa being pushed out. He instructed, "You go to the ward and accompany Teresa."

"Yes, William." Jeffrey nodded and, together with the medical staff, pushed Teresa toward the VIP ward.

Maddox had been curious about why William was outside the emergency room, but now, seeing Teresa being pushed out and hearing their conversation, he understood.

This "Miss Teresa" should be William's sister!

The Teresa Pavilion in River North was the elites' favorite restaurant, and the Queen's Avenue Group owned it, so it must have a great connection with this young Miss from The Bennett family.

Jeffrey left with Teresa, leaving only William and Maddox outside the emergency room. Neither of them spoke. In the dimly lit corridor of the hospital, silence spread infinitely.

"Clang..." In the silence that felt like a century, finally, another set of doors was opened from inside the emergency room, and a doctor walked out, loudly asking, "Who is the patient's family?"

"I am!" Before Maddox could react, William stepped forward and responded quickly.

"Are you the patient's husband? Did you know she was pregnant and still caused her distress, or did you not know she was pregnant at all?" The doctor was a woman in her forties. Seeing William's nervous appearance and sensing that he cared about Hayden as a woman and a doctor, she reprimanded William for a moment.

"I apologize. I take responsibility. How is my wife doing?" William's heart was ablaze with concern, and he offered his remorse without hesitation.

"Some bleeding was detected, indicative of a potential miscarriage. It's crucial to avoid agitating the patient for the forthcoming two to three months. Ensure she maintains a stable emotional state, fosters a positive outlook, gets ample rest, limits her physical activities, and focuses on a nutritious diet," the doctor advised William in a steady stream of guidance.

"Understood. Thank you for your guidance, Doctor," William responded with a prompt nod of gratitude, then inquired, "May I see my wife now? Is she conscious?"

The doctor gave an affirmative nod, "Yes, she's regained consciousness and has been transferred to a regular ward for monitoring over the next couple of days. Should there be no complications, she'll be cleared for discharge."

"Thank you." A wave of relief washed over William, and he nodded appreciatively, repeating his thanks to the doctor.

With a nod, the doctor turned and returned to the emergency room.
