Chapter 31 Unwanted Reunion
Outside the Bennett estate, a sleek black Maybach idled, its presence was as imposing as the man standing beside it. Gabriel leaned against the car, the final embers of his cigarette illuminating his chiseled features and casting a sinister glow.
Teresa's heart skipped as she saw him, unsure of his reasons for being there or if he had seen her intimate farewell with Liam. Yet, she felt it shouldn't be her concern at all.
She ignored him, and walked away..
"Stop!" Gabriel commanded, his voice sliced through the silence. He discarded his cigarette and closed the distance between them with a determined stride.
Annoyance flared within Teresa at his intrusion. She had no intention of getting caught up in whatever game Gabriel was playing.
She paused, took a deep breath, then faced him with an icy glare. "Gabriel, I returned your things. What do you want now?"
"Quiet!" he cut her off, he wrapped her in his arms abruptly, his hand cradling her head. He pressed his lips on hers, quelling her protests and igniting a storm of emotions.
Gabriel was in turmoil, having witnessed her tenderness with Liam. Jealousy and a maelstrom of dark feelings choked him, the feelings were what he hadn't expected to have for his brother's woman.
Under the dim light, Teresa's eyes widened in fear, taking in his intense expression. The scene was a haunting echo of that night, his overpowering presence bringing the past back to life.
