Chapter 617 No Longer Fond of William

Obviously, Hayden did not expect that William would be here. Wasn't she just back in the Imperial Capital?

However, just a second later, he understood what was going on, and he looked down at Teresa beside him involuntarily.

"William, Hayden flew over from Imperial Capital early this morning just to see you and talk things through about the past. You won't be petty enough to leave, right?" Teresa looked at him with a resigned expression.

Looking at William, for some reason, Hayden said,"I am about to marry Jasper."

William raised his eyes and looked at her deeply, then he lifted his leg and walked into the private room. Watching William walk in, Teresa breathed a sigh of relief, then quickly closed the door for them.

After Teresa closed the door, William coldly asked in a polite yet distant manner. "What would you like to eat?"

Watching him, Hayden turned around and smiled. "You decide."

Looking at her, William didn't say anything. He called the manager over and ordered a few dishes. Only after ordering did he pull out a chair and sit down.

Hayden sat down opposite him, picking up the water, took a sip, saying, "Jocelyn called you last night, I heard it, I'm sorry, I didn't expect..."

"No need!" William directly interrupted her, taking a sip of water, saying, "Your sister's words have never really affected me, you don't need to apologize to me."

Looking at him, Hayden smiled. "I am about to marry someone else soon, William, can you tell me honestly, why are you unwilling to accept me again?"

Listening to Hayden's words, William put down the water glass, looking at her coldly, replying with a hint of coldness, "Because you, the heiress of the Bennett family Family, I can't afford to accept."

As she looked at him, Hayden's heart felt like it was being hit heavily by a thousand-pound hammer. She was momentarily stunned, but still stubbornly asked, "Why?"

"Hayden, do you still need to ask me?" William looked at her without avoiding her gaze and counter-questioned.

"Because I don't respect you, because I hide everything from you, because I make decisions on my own without considering your feelings?" Hayden looked straight at him, questioning.

Looking at her, William smiled faintly. "Could it be that you want to say, because I love you so much, so I made all these decisions on my own? Then should I ignore everything Michelle did to harm you just because she loved me?"

Looking at him, Hayden also smiled, unable to hold back the tears suddenly welling up. "In your heart, am I the same as Michelle?"

"Of course, you are not the same." William shook his head. "Michelle doesn't have your status and position, so she can only use some tricks to get close to me. But Michelle's family are really kind, I feel comfortable with them."

"Are you saying that my family makes you uncomfortable?" Hayden said and smiled. "Right, my dad looked down on you before, and now Jocelyn is threatening you so viciously. How can they compare to Michelle's parents? After all, you are the esteemed CEO of the Bennett family family now, countless people look up to you."

William looked at her and asked back, "Are you saying that it's because of my current status and position that Michelle's parents get along well with me?"

"Did I misunderstand?" Hayden also asked back.

"Hayden, not everyone in the world judges a person by money and status like your father and sister do." With that, William pushed back his chair, stood up, and his expression suddenly turned cold. He indifferently said, "I treated you to this meal, enjoy it."

With that, he turned around, walked to the door, opened the private room door, and left directly.

"William, why did you leave?" Outside, Teresa watched William, hurried to catch up, but William walked too fast, she couldn't catch up, she could only watch William leave.

William left like that. Teresa had no choice but to return to the private room, looking at Hayden, who seemed like she wanted to cry. Teresa asked worriedly, "Hayden, are you okay?"

Hayden tried to control her emotions, smiled slightly. "I'm fine."

Sitting down next to Hayden, Teresa sighed lightly and asked, "What happened between you and my brother?"

Hayden lowered her head helplessly, tears streaming down her face, shaking her head. "I don't know why William and I have come to this point today, why every time, we end up parting ways."

"Hayden, my brother is too independent and strong-willed, and you are also very independent and strong-willed. Perhaps, you two are really not suitable for each other." Teresa hugged Hayden and said, "Someone like Jasper, who is more casual, might really be more suitable for you."

"Is that so?" Hayden raised her head and tried to smile. "Look at me, I used to like Liam. We even went to the marriage registry together, but in the end, I married Gabriel."

"Why didn't you choose Liam?" Hayden asked Teresa for the first time. As far as she knew, Liam was quite outstanding.

"Because Liam's mother didn't like me, she opposed us being together, just like your dad opposed you being with my brother." Teresa comforted Hayden and said, "I think a union between two people isn't just about them. It's also about the union of two families. If a couple's marriage doesn't have the blessings of close family and friends, their future days could be very tough. After all, you can't completely give up family and friendships for the sake of love."

Looking at Teresa, Hayden lowered her head again and smiled bitterly. Just then, the waiters brought dishes and set them on the table. Teresa looked at the soup on the table and handed her a spoon. "Come on, even though that jerk left, we still need to eat, especially you need to eat more, so you have the energy to take care of the two lovely babies."

Hayden smiled as she lifted her head, took the spoon, looked at the soup in front of her and the several dishes on the table, all suitable for a woman who had just given birth, and they were all dishes she liked.

These were all ordered by William! For so long, he had always remembered what she liked to eat. So, there was a place for her in William's heart, indeed.

But what about William and Michelle? Did he have genuine feelings for her too?

Unable to rest assured about Chloe and Logan, Hayden immediately returned to the Imperial Capital after finishing lunch with Teresa.

Finn went out of town for a very important meeting these days and wasn't at home, but when Hayden returned home, Finn was already back.

Hayden changed her clothes and checked on the children. Then they had dinner together.

During dinner, Jocelyn kept her head down and obediently ate. Normally picky, she didn't fuss tonight and ate everything. After dinner, she even took the initiative to clean up with the servants. Finn watched curiously, but didn't say anything on the spot. He just called Hayden to the study.

"Did you meet William at River North again today?" When they entered the study, Finn looked at Hayden, furrowing his brows and asked directly.

Since Finn already knew, Hayden felt there was no need to hide it anymore and nodded. "Yes, I saw him."

"How did your conversation go?" Finn knew very well that Hayden never let go of William in her heart. The reason she chose to marry Jasper was not only to give Chloe and Logan a legitimate status but also because Hayden was at odds with William.

"We parted ways." Hayden smiled bitterly and answered directly.

Finn said, "Hayden, if you really want to be with William, there is a way, but..."

"No, Dad." Without waiting for Finn to finish, Hayden interrupted him directly. "I don't want anyone else to get involved in my relationship with William anymore. Let's stop here. I have Chloe and Logan, that's enough."

William didn't want to be with her not because he didn't have feelings for her, but because he didn't want to join the Bennett family.

Though Finn wasn't good and Jocelyn was cruel, they were still her close relatives. Asking her to give up the Bush family and her close ties just for William was something she couldn't bring herself to do.

So why forced it.
