Chapter 26 Unwilling Benefactor
Teresa's eyes brimmed with anger as Gabriel undressed, revealing his wide and muscular chest. She was in dilemma, for that she was aware that any outburst now would only complicate things with Liam.
As Gabriel continued to undress, Teresa felt more and more akward and even guiltier, one tear dropped.
Seeing this Gabriel's usual teasing demeanor faltered, it was soon replaced by an unexpected softness. He quickly put the clothes back on in silence and exited the fitting room.
Liam and his entourage had moved on, their presence receding into the hum of the mall.
The sales associate approached, all smiles. "Which suit will it be, sir?"
Gabriel, straightening his jacket, dismissed the attendant with a nod. "She'll be out shortly," he assured, signaling to Teresa's hiding spot.
Once the coast was clear, Teresa emerged, hastily wiping away her tears and shooting Gabriel a lethal look before walking past him.
"Teresa, you'll take care of the bill,"
Her stride broke, but she didn't turn back. "The navy one," she heard him tell the salesperson.
"Right this way, sir," the salesperson directed Gabriel.
Gabriel glanced at Teresa. "Time to pay," he said, there was a hint of challenge in his voice.
Teresa approached the cashier, her posture was rigid. "Mobile," she responded curtly to the sales associate's inquiry, her fingers swiftly navigating her phone's payment app.
Gabriel was standing behind her, thinking of something.
"Here are your items, Miss. Would you like to check them?" the sales associate offered the bag after the transaction.
"No, thank you," Teresa snatched the bag and threw it at Gabriel. "Keep your clothes, and stay out of my life," she declared.
She walked away.
Catching the bag effortlessly, Gabriel watched her departure, a smirk playing on his lips, both vexed and entertained. He couldn't resist a low chuckle at her fiery exit.
The sales team exchanged bewildered glances. Was this man being financed by the fiery woman who had just stormed off? It seemed unlikely, yet the thought lingered, puzzling them all.
