Chapter 611 No More Hesitation and Compromise
Jocelyn was startled and immediately withdrew her hand, turning to look toward the door. She muttered, "Hayden, I..."
"Who let you in?" Without waiting for Jocelyn to explain, Hayden reprimanded, striding over to comfort Logan who was still crying loudly.
"Hayden, let me handle this. Logan probably needs a diaper change," the nurse who was caring for the children intervened, going to check Logan's diaper. However, it was clean inside, nothing amiss.
Watching Logan still crying uncontrollably, Hayden felt sad. She carefully picked him up and gently comforted him.
Perhaps sensing Logan's unease, Chloe also started crying shortly after. The nurse quickly went to pick up Chloe as well.
Jocelyn stood by, observing Hayden dote on the children with increasing indifference and resentment. She felt Hayen's coldness, her lack of concern, and her harshness, which fueled her hatred even more.
After comforting the children for a while until they quieted down and fell asleep again, Hayden left and called Jocelyn over.
"Hayden, I just thought Logan was so cute, so I touched him. I don't know why he cried. Are you mad at me?" Standing in front of Hayden, Jocelyn looked uneasy.
Hayden looked at her and sighed softly, "It probably wasn't your fault. I was too anxious. Don't worry about it."
Jocelyn looked at her and immediately smiled, sitting next to her and clinging to her arm, saying, "I knew it, Hayden, you still love me like before."
"Jocelyn, you are my sister, always." Hayden withdrew her arm from Jocelyn's grasp, her tone serious. "But what you did, kkeeping Gabriel captive, drugging him, forcing him into an affair, trying to marry him. It's too serious for me to overlook. I can't afford to let you continue making such deadly mistakes."
"Hayden, I really know I was wrong. I was just being playful for a moment. I promise I won't do it again. Can you forgive me this time?" Holding Hayden's hand again, Jocelyn pouted and looked at her pitifully, pleading.
"No! I can't." Hayden refused without hesitation. "You've made such a grave mistake; Gabriel and Teresa deserve an explanation."
"But I saved Gabriel's life. Isn't it so?" Seeing Hayden's firm attitude, Jocelyn couldn't help but get angry.
"Yes, maybe you saved Gabriel's life. If it weren't for the subsequent imprisonment, drugging, and coercion, Gabriel and Teresa would be grateful to you. We would all think you are a good girl. But why did you ruin your image in everyone's eyes and make such a big mistake?" Looking at Jocelyn, Hayden asked back, "Did you not think about the consequences when you did all this?"
"Hayden, I didn't have any bad intentions in doing all this. I just liked Gabriel too much and wanted to be with him." Looking at Hayden, Jocelyn's tears were about to fall again. "I fell in love with him the first time I saw him at thirteen. At the time when our family was about to form an alliance with the Garcia family, how I wished it was me marrying Gabriel."
Seeing Jocelyn like this, Hayden furrowed her brow and sighed helplessly. "Jocelyn, even if you like Gabriel, he's married now. He only loves Teresa. How could you resort to such means at such a young age? Don't you understand what kind of person Gabriel is? If you weren't a Bush family daughter, would you even sit before me now?"
"Yes, you are the daughter of the Bush family, I am Jocelyn, we have the same parents. Why can you reject good things while I can't even dream of them?" Immediately, Jocelyn tearfully questioned.
Watching her younger sister so desperately in front of her, Hayden closed her eyes in resignation. "Gabriel is already married, and he only loves Teresa. No matter how much effort you put in, he will never fall in love with you."
"What about William?" Jocelyn questioned, "William doesn't love you either. He is about to marry Michelle, yet you are still clinging to him, even stealing his sperm to have IVF babies, giving birth to Chloe and Logan. Where did I go wrong compared to you?"
Seeing her younger sister so persistent and unrepentant, Jocelyn felt an indescribable disappointment welling up inside her. She sighed deeply, "Don't worry, I'm going to marry Jasper soon. I'll never interfere with William again. I'll only wish him and Michelle happiness forever."
Jocelyn listened and was momentarily dumbfounded.
If Hayden really stopped entangling William, if he really married Michelle, and if Hayden really married Jasper, then wouldn't there be no one to help her break up Teresa and Gabriel?
"Hayden, you don't really love Jasper. Why are you marrying him? Marry William, your love is William, and William is the father of Chloe and Logan. Why don't you marry him?" Feeling a bit flustered, Jocelyn suddenly advised.
Hayden looked at her, feeling confused. "Didn't you not want me to be with William?"
"No, I do want that." Jocelyn shook her head quickly. "I want you to be happy, to be with the person you love. I also want Chloe and Logan to have a complete family with their real father."
"Jocelyn, what did you say to William in the hospital's secure passage that day?" Looking at Jocelyn suspiciously, Hayden asked again.
At the mention of this incident again, Jocelyn's eyes betrayed a hint of panic. She immediately shook her head. "Sister, I forgot. I really forgot. Please don't ask me."
"Okay, you don't have to say it now, but stay at home and don't go anywhere until you tell everything." With that, Hayden got up and walked toward her bedroom.
After the incident of imprisoning and coercing Gabriel, Hayden had reevaluated her younger sister Jocelyn.
She was no longer the innocent and kind girl she once knew. With her, Hayden couldn't afford to hesitate or compromise anymore.
