Chapter 524 William and Hayden
Sophia's baby was only a little over a month old, so it couldn't possibly be making any movement. Hearing a noise, Sophia turned her head toward the entrance and smiled, a cunning and triumphant glint in her eyes that made people somewhat scared. However, when Hayden met her gaze, she smiled slightly and walked over, greeting her in a gentle tone.
"Hayden, you're back. Have you had dinner?" Sophia quickly moved away from Finn as if she had just noticed Hayden's return and asked with a cheerful smile.
"I had dinner at my grandmother's," Hayden replied, walking to a spot a few meters away from them. Then she stopped, looking at Finn and saying, "Raymond, I went to see my grandmother this afternoon. She's not in a very good state of health."
Finn glanced at her and nodded, but he held Sophia's hand and affectionately patted it, completely ignoring Hayden as he spoke, "Your grandmother just called me, saying she wants you to come and take care of her for a while."
"Yes, Raymond, that's exactly what I was thinking," Hayden replied, meekly and obediently smiling. "My grandmother is old and not feeling well, and she's very lonely by herself."
Finn didn't think too much about it and agreed directly, "Then go and take good care of her."
"Okay, thank you, Raymond. I'll move in with my grandmother tomorrow. As for the company..."
Hayden nodded, remaining composed, as she hesitated to speak further.
"Hayden, don't go to the company. Let's wait until your grandmother is better," they said.
"Okay, I understand," Hayden obediently nodded and added, "If there is nothing else, I will go upstairs first."
Finn nodded, but before Hayden could turn around, he immediately started flirting with Sophia as if no one else was around.
Hayden really didn't want to see them together, so she quickly turned and went upstairs.
Sophia watched Hayden's departing figure, and a malicious smile flashed in her eyes.
Hayden returned to their room, and after a while, when she was about to take a shower, she heard a knocking sound at the door. Assuming it was the housekeeper, she said, "Come in!"
Sophia, who was outside the door, smirked and entered the room.
The door opened, and as Hayden looked up, they realized it was Sophia. When their gaze met Sophia's smug and sinister smile, a strong sense of foreboding gripped Hayden's heart.
"You are very delicate now. If you need anything, have someone call me. There's no need for you to come personally." Hayden tried to stay calm and not scare herself.
"Yes, indeed, as Raymond's precious one in his palm, I am extremely delicate!" Sophia looked at Hayden and walked toward them with a smile. Then, she suddenly changed the topic and asked, "What about you? When you were pregnant, who treated you as their precious one and pampered and protected you?"
As she spoke, Sophia reached out to lift Hayden's dress.
Hayden quickly reacted and stepped back in fear. Then, with an intimidating gaze, they stared at Sophia.
Does she know that Hayden is pregnant? How is that possible?
"Hahaha, hiding?" Sophia laughed with amusement as she watched Hayden's vigilant demeanor. "It has been over four months. What is there to hide? Do you think Raymond is blind? Am I blind, too?"
It has been over four months.
Hayden's eyes suddenly narrowed, and their heart sank along with it, as if they fell into a hopeless abyss in an instant, causing a slight tremor.
"So, you plan to give birth to this bastard?" Sophia was quite satisfied with Hayden's reaction and asked with a smirk.
Looking at her, Hayden forced herself to remain calm and coldly chuckled, "Why can't I give birth to my child?"
"Hahaha," Sophia said as if she had suddenly heard a hilarious joke. She burst into laughter and retorted, "Oh, Hayden, you're becoming more delusional! Do you really think you can give birth to this child?"
"Sophia, if you dare to harm me and the baby in my belly, I will be relentless against you." Hayden squinted at Sophia, and the more she threatened her, the calmer Hayden became.
"I won't harm you and your illegitimate child. It would dirty my hands." Sophia looked at her with a sinister and malicious smile. Then she shifted the topic and said, "But just because I won't do it, doesn't mean someone else won't, like Raymond."
"Sophia, what do you want to do?" Hayden clenched her teeth and asked, squinting at her.
"I won't do anything." Sophia raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Hayden, you are a smart person. I have a good solution that can protect you and the baby in your belly. It's up to you whether you want to choose it or not."
"You want me to be with Hall?" Hayden couldn't help but see Sophia's dirty thoughts, and as soon as she said it, she thought of this possibility.
"What's wrong? Don't you want to?"
"Stop it!" Hayden's response was immediate and unwavering. "Even if it means risking everything, I will never marry into The Johnson family."
"Do you think you have a choice?" Sophia sneered mockingly. "You are thinking too much. If something happens to the baby in my belly, do you think Raymond will spare you?"
Looking at her once again, Hayden couldn't help but shudder in fear deep inside.
Considering how much Finn cared about Sophia's baby in her belly, if anything happened to the baby and they knew it was her doing, Hayden couldn't imagine the consequences.
"Don't worry, if that day comes, I will risk my life, and Daniel's life, to fight against you until the end. Let's see whose side Raymond will take first," Sophia said with a sly and vicious smile, and then she elegantly turned around and left, feeling extremely satisfied.
Watching her leave, when the door made a soft "bang" sound and closed, Hayden couldn't help but shiver and collapse onto the nearby sofa.
Was she really left with no choice?
The next day, in the morning, Hayden didn't know what Sophia had added to her breakfast, but after eating it, her stomach couldn't stop churning. She quickly covered her mouth and rushed to the closest bathroom.
"What's happening to Hayden? Could it be that she's pregnant like me? Otherwise, how could she have such symptoms, just like a pregnant woman?" Sophia looked worriedly at Hayden rushing to the bathroom.
Finn frowned, feeling slightly displeased, "How could she, as a young girl, be pregnant?"
Since Finn said so, Sophia said nothing more and continued to eat her breakfast with her head down.
Although she didn't say anything else, Hayden heard her words clearly.
It seemed that Sophia's goal was for Finn to discover that she was pregnant.
After cleaning up in the bathroom, Hayden pretended as if nothing was wrong and went over to Finn, saying, "Raymond, my stomach isn't feeling well, so I won't eat. I'm going upstairs to tidy up, and later on, I'll go take care of Grandmother."
As she finished speaking, she turned around to leave.
"Hayden, if your stomach is bothering you, then have the family doctor come and take a look," Sophia said, instructing the butler nearby to call the family doctor.
"There's no need. When I get to my grandmother's if I still don't feel well, I'll have the doctor look at me," Hayden refused immediately.
"Hayden, I noticed that your belly has gotten bigger. Didn't you only have a few bites of breakfast?" Sophia said, pulling Finn's arm and speaking to him. Finn, look, isn't Hayden getting fat? Her belly is growing."
Upon Sophia's remark, Finn looked up, and his gaze landed directly on Hayden's stomach.
Hayden quickly held her breath, trying to conceal her already protruding belly.
But it was impossible to hide anymore.
Finn wasn't a fool. When Hayden had run to the bathroom to vomit, Sophia had already alerted him that Hayden was pregnant.
Now, seeing her slightly bulging belly, how could he not have any suspicions?
Immediately, he frowned and asked, "Hayden, what's going on?"
Looking at Finn and Sophia, Hayden understood that this time, she was most likely unable to escape.
However, she still tried her best to remain calm and said, "Raymond, Sophia is right. I just gained weight! If there's nothing else, I'll go to my grandmother first."
As she finished speaking, she turned around immediately and didn't even bother to go upstairs to pack her things. She went straight toward the direction of the front gate, intending to seek shelter from Hayden's grandmother at The Petrova family immediately.
At this moment, perhaps only Hayden's grandmother could protect her.
"You, stop right there!"
However, she had only taken two steps when a roar came from behind her.
Hayden's heart skipped a beat, but she only paused for a moment before continuing to walk away without looking back. Her urgent manner resembled that of someone who had committed a big mistake and was now on the run.
"Smack!" Seeing that Hayden dared defy him, Finn forcefully slammed his fork on the table, stood up with a ‘whoosh,’ and shouted, "Hayden, stop right there. Do you hear me?"
Hayden's heart skipped another beat, but it didn't stop.
"Hayden, are you rebelling?"
"Finn, calm down first, don't get angry, don't get angry." Sophia quickly stood up and gently tried to soothe Finn, raising her hand to touch his chest.
As Hayden fled, Finn was furious and immediately ordered, "Go, stop that disobedient daughter for me."
"Yes, sir," the butler responded and immediately went after her with some people.
However, Hayden ran fast. By the time the butler caught up and tried to stop her, she had already gotten into her car and drove away, the engine roaring.
Once the car left the estate and Hayden confirmed through the rearview mirror that no one was following, she felt a little relieved and immediately called Hayden's grandmother.
The call was answered quickly, and even before Hayden's grandmother could speak, Hayden urgently said, "Grandmother, Sophia, and Raymond found out about my pregnancy. What should I do? I want to leave Imperial Capital and find a place to hide right now."
"Hide!? Hayden, where do you want to hide?" Hayden's grandmother asked lovingly on the other end of the phone.
"Anywhere, as long as Raymond can't find me," Hayden answered anxiously.
"Well, where can you go that Raymond can't find you?" Hayden's grandmother calmly asked.
Indeed, where could she go that even Finn couldn't find?
For a moment, Hayden couldn't answer her grandmother's question.
"Child, don't worry for now. Come to grandmother's place first, and grandmother will help you figure something out together." Hayden must have been scared at this moment, so her grandmother spoke with extra tenderness.
"Okay." Trembling almost uncontrollably, Hayden agreed and hung up the phone. She then drove toward The Petrova family at the fastest speed possible.
"What can you do? Or do you know a place that Raymond can't find?"
Upon arriving at The Petrova family and seeing her grandmother, Hayden rushed over and grabbed her hand, almost kneeling to beg her.
Grandmother helped her sit down and gently patted her hand, saying affectionately, "There's no other way. I can only use my old life to resist Raymond."
Looking at her grandmother, Hayden suddenly turned red-eyed, her nose sour and tears immediately streaming down her face.
"Don't worry!" Grandmother lovingly raised her hand and gently wiped away the tears from Hayden's eyes. "Raymond already owes me for your mother's death. This time, he has to give me face so he won't push you to the brink again."
Looking at her grandmother heavily, Hayden nodded.
She would never let her grandmother, who was already in her seventies, suffer because of her.
After a while, Finn's people arrived at The Petrova family, saying they wanted to ‘invite’ Hayden back.
Hayden knew that she couldn't escape this time, so she could only look to her grandmother for help.
Grandmother gently tapped her hand, saying, "Don't be afraid. Grandmother will go back with you."
"Okay," Hayden agreed, though inwardly she harbored a sense of dread, knowing she had crafted a plan with potentially dire consequences.
