Chapter 493 William and Hayden (94)
Two days later, Hayden went to the airport and went to River North with Maddox.
Because she left home too early, she needed to have breakfast. When she arrived at the airport, she was starving, so she immediately bought breakfast to appease her hungry stomach and the baby inside her.
The medicine Isabella gave her was quite effective. For the past month, except for when she brushed her teeth in the morning, she rarely experienced any morning sickness.
Since she rarely had morning sickness, she stopped taking the medicine.
As the days went by, although she was swamped now, she could clearly feel the little life inside her growing every day.
The baby in her stomach was over two months old, and her belly would start showing signs of pregnancy in two more months.
So, she had to find a way to go abroad in the next two months.
The first possibility was to ask Finn to let her continue studying in Southern to finish her book, but the chances of that happening were slim.
The second possibility was her outstanding work performance, and she could apply to train in the overseas business department responsible for The Smith Group's international investment project.
Compared to the first possibility, the second possibility was much greater.
So, Hayden was working hard to achieve the second possibility.
By then, when she went abroad, she would find another way to have a child.
"I didn't expect Hayden to also eat fast food."
When Hayden arrived, Maddox had already arrived and was waiting in the VIP lounge. He saw Hayden walking into the lounge while eating a hamburger and laughed.
Hayden took another big bite of her hamburger and sat down next to Maddox. As she satisfiedly ate, she said, "The taste is not bad."
Maddox smiled and glanced at her shoes. "I noticed that you rarely wear high heels. It's not really your style."
"Yes!" Hayden laughed, swallowed her food, and sipped hot milk. "These shoes are comfortable to wear; I like them."
"When you first entered the company, you used to wear makeup, but now you rarely do." Maddox laughed again.
I've become lazy. Hayden said, playfully smiling. "Am I not pretty without makeup?"
"You're beautiful. You look much better than many women who wear makeup." Maddox sincerely laughed.
Hayden smiled. "Maddox really knows how to compliment."
Maddox laughed heartily. "I'm just telling the truth."
If he didn't already have a girlfriend, he would definitely pursue Hayden.
"Madam, would you like something to drink?" At this moment, a service staff member came over, smiling and asking Hayden.
Hayden waved her hand. "No, thank you!"
The service staff member smiled and left.
Hayden finished drinking her milk in one gulp, then took out a newly drafted contract from her bag and started discussing business matters with Maddox.
The two of them got completely engrossed in their discussion and even forgot about the time, not even hearing the boarding announcement. It was only when a service staff member came over to remind them to board the plane that they stopped and tidied up to board.
Once they were on the plane, the two of them resumed their discussion of the unfinished business matters. Just as they finished discussing it, a flight attendant came with breakfast and served it to them.
They were sitting in first class, and the breakfast selection was abundant.
Initially, Maddox thought Hayden had already eaten breakfast and wouldn't have much appetite on the plane.
However, to his surprise, she started eating once the flight attendant arranged the breakfast.
Watching her, Maddox suddenly laughed and whispered, "Your appetite has been growing lately."
Hayden was not at all shy and smiled, saying, "I guess I've been needing some extra replenishment lately."
Maddox nodded, glanced at the breakfast in front of her, and then looked at the food on his plate. He said, "The cod fish is good. Maybe you should give it a try."
"No need; I've been slightly allergic to seafood lately." Hayden's lie came out without hesitation.
Maddox smiled and said nothing more. He bowed his head and started eating breakfast as well.
After breakfast, they slept on the plane for a while. When they woke up, the aircraft was already flying above River North.
Hayden sat by the window, listening to the radio. She opened her eyes, pushed open the window shutter, and looked down. Her heart inexplicably began to beat faster.
This is River North, the place where William is.
She didn't know where William was and what he was doing at that moment.
But Hayden knew that, no matter how much she missed him, she absolutely couldn't see William this time in River North.
She couldn't ruin her efforts.
Staring outside the window, Hayden slowly stroked her lower abdomen.
Their child had already been two months old, and she only had two months left.
So, in the next two months, she had to perform exceptionally well and absolutely not give Sophia, Finn, or anyone else any handle.
Maddox sat beside her, watching her hand gently touch her stomach, the slight frown on her brow, and the serious expression on her face. He thought she was uncomfortable and asked concernedly, "What's wrong? Is your stomach not feeling well?"
"No." Hayden came back to her senses, and the look in her eyes and on her face immediately returned to her usual warmth. She moved her hand away from her still flat belly and smiled at Maddox, saying, "I haven't been to River North for many years. It seems to have changed a lot."
"After signing the contract, I'll have a friend take you around," Maddox said eagerly as he looked at her.
"Okay!" Hayden nodded and agreed happily.
Soon, the plane landed smoothly. After Hayden and Maddox got off the plane, they didn't delay and walked straight out of the airport.
The Smith Group has a subsidiary in River North, and the subsidiary has arranged a car to pick them up, waiting outside the airport.
The one who came to pick them up was the general manager of the subsidiary.
Although Maddox, the Minister of Business Affairs of the main company, was insignificant, Hayden, the young lady of The Smith Group, was very important. Since the young lady herself came, how could the general manager not personally welcome them?
As soon as they left the airport, the general manager of the subsidiary saw them and waved to them.
Maddox was the general manager of the subsidiary. After a brief introduction and exchange of pleasantries, the three of them walked directly toward a nearby business car.
Just as Hayden was about to get into the car, not far behind them, William and Finley Jeffrey also walked out of the airport.
Without meaning to, William's gaze swept over and landed on that familiar and delicate figure not far away.
It was Hayden.
William could hardly believe it.
He looked over and saw Hayden bending down to get into the business car. Following behind, Maddox also bent down and got in.
Even just seeing Hayden's silhouette through the open car door, William could confirm that it was really Hayden.
The man standing next to the car door was someone he knew, the general manager of The Smith Group's River North branch. If he hadn't made a mistake, the man following Hayden into the car was Maddox, the minister of the business department at The Smith Group's headquarters.
He knew Hayden had joined The Smith Group's business department and performed well. He had also heard that The Smith Group was collaborating with another major company in River North, and Hayden was here on a business trip.
After contemplating, William didn't hesitate and walked quickly toward the car that came to pick him up, which was not far away.
When Jeffrey saw William suddenly become in a hurry and even walk with urgency, he followed along.
"Follow the black business car in front." After getting in the car, William immediately instructed the driver.
"Yes, William." The driver nodded and started the car, following Hayden's business car, which was not too far behind.
Jeffrey sat in the front passenger seat, and as William spoke, he stared at the black business car that had just driven away.
The car had The Smith Group's logo on it, making it obvious that it was The Smith Group's luxury business vehicle.
