Chapter 133 Let's Get a Divorce

“Buzz—"

Gabriel’s phone vibrated relentlessly in his palm, but he paid it no mind, letting it continue.

Ignoring it only made it keep ringing, incessantly.

Suddenly, he glanced at it, and upon seeing Mason's name, he answered the call.

"Gabriel, you've seen the video about Teresa, haven't you? Stay calm and sign the contract. I’m here at River North; don't you trust me? I'll handle it all," Mason’s voice came through, pleading earnestly.

"Where’s Teresa?" Gabriel found himself asking, ignoring everything else; where was she, what was she doing?

"She's likely with Yvonne. Wlliam's on it," Mason answered in a calm tone.

"Teresa is the love of my life. No one has the right to touch her."

"Gabriel, listen to me..."

"Grandpa, I’m coming back, I can’t stay here another minute," Gabriel cut off before Mason could finish.

"Did you ever consider the consequences if Finley fails to close the deal? The loss to Capital Construction?"

"If Finley can't handle it, I'll take full responsibility," Gabriel declared and ended the call.

...

Of course, Teresa wasn't taken to the Garcia family. Yvonne had brought her back to the Evans family instead.
Ever since Liam cut ties with the Evans Group and the whole Evans family, Tyler has been swamped every day, recently out of town on a business trip, leaving the household management to Yvonne's demands; nobody dared to defy her orders.

The moment William arrived at the Evans estate, he and his crew were stopped by the family's security guards right outside the gates, not even allowed to set foot on the premises.

Knowing Yvonne dared to publicly strike Teresa, slander her with those words, and then dragged her back to the Evans’ house without permission, it was a no-brainer that Teresa was in for a rough time under Yvonne's thumb.

Thus, when William was barred from entering by the bodyguards at the gates, he didn't hesitate. He ordered to charge the gates with his vehicle.

Though the guards were loyal, their survival instinct kicked in when they saw the car hurtling toward them, and they scurried out of harm's way.

With a thunderous crash, the ornate iron gates failed to give on the first hit. The car backed up and lunged for the second and third attempt. Finally, after three intense impacts, William's custom Bentley, badly deformed, forced the gates open. His car, followed by six vans, rushed through.

They all pulled up in front of the main house, and with William in the lead, they stormed into the grand entrance.

Confronted with William's show of force, the Evans family's housekeeper and butler wisely stepped aside, not daring to interfere.

"Well, what brings you here, William?" Fresh from a bath and impeccably dressed, Yvonne descended the stairs with a sly smile, eyeing the invaders filling her foyer. Her poise and elegance bore no resemblance to the spiteful shrew tending online.

William, with one hand casually in his pocket, stood tall and imposing in the middle of the hall, gave Yvonne a measured look, and spoke without emotion, "Yvonne, we're not fools, so let's skip the runaround. Where's my sister? I'm here to take her home."

"Your sister?!" With a mocking sneer, Yvonne descended the staircase gracefully and strolled to the living room couch where she seated herself comfortably. Only then did she fix her gaze back on William and say with a laugh, "Your dear sister drugged my son, clouded his judgment, got intimate with him, and what's more, she's caused him grave injuries. Now, my boy's lying in a coma at the hospital. Tell me, should I hand your sister over to you?"

"Huh..." With a dismissive glance at Yvonne, William couldn't help but chuckle, "Yvonne, accusations require evidence. Defaming my sister without proof could make for some rough days ahead for you."

"William, you think you can threaten me?" Yvonne's poise shattered abruptly, and anger flared across her face.

"Yes, I do." William nodded without hesitation, his voice bearing a renewed determination, "Yvonne, where is my sister?"

"William, you've no official capacity to break into my home uninvited. Do you really think I'd let that slide?" Yvonne glared, teeth clenched.

"Since you're unwilling to tell me where she is, I guess I have no choice but to find her myself." Concerned that every second's delay meant more suffering for Teresa, William wasted no more time arguing. He turned to his bodyguards and commanded, "Find her. Tear this place down if you have to."

"Yes, sir."

"How dare you!" Just as the team geared up to move, Yvonne stood abruptly from the sofa with a furious shout, "Butler, have all our people stop them! Call the police, tell them there's an intruder at the Evans estate planning a murder."

"Yes, Madam."

"No need for the fuss, the police's already here."

As the Evans family butler barely took a step to carry out Yvonne's orders, a deep and authoritative voice stopped everyone in their tracks. They all turned to see Mason entering with his cane, followed by a contingent of uniformed, armed officers and various other people. Trailing closest to Mason was none other than the head of River North.

Mason and River North's big shot were recognizable figures to anyone. Immediately, the Evans family butler and housekeepers froze, not daring to make a move.

"Mason." Seeing him arrive in person with backup, William's worries eased.
It wasn't that he was afraid of Yvonne; rather, the fact that Mason showed up at least proved that he believed in Teresa.

As long as the Garcias stood behind Teresa, everything else would fall into place.

Mason nodded approvingly at William, "Well done, William. You've got guts for a young man."

"Mason, what's this about...?" Yvonne might dismiss even the head of the city, but she dared not dismiss Mason.

One word from him, and the Evans family could be completely isolated, leaving the Evans Group teetering on the brink.

"Yvonne, where's my granddaughter-in-law?" Suddenly, Mason's commanding gaze swept over Yvonne, cutting her off before she could spout any nonsense.

"Mason, are you referring to Teresa? She seduced my son in his apartment this afternoon while Gabriel was away, drugged him, and the two of them..."
