Chapter 119 You Finally Surrendered
After chatting with William for a while, Nina began to realize that he was just stalling for time. Although she couldn't understand what he was waiting for, she soon found out. "You went through so much trouble to bring me here. Now you can tell me!" she said.
"I'm interested in your Flying Live, so I want you to join me..." William hadn't finished his sentence when Nina immediately refused.
"It's impossible. Flying Live is something I built from scratch. I will never hand it over to anyone." Nina never expected that this person would have his eyes on her Flying Live, and she bluntly rejected him.
"Don't be hasty in refusing. Listen to my conditions first, and then make a decision," William said with a slight smile. Then he continued, "If you join me, I can make your Flying Live turn into a company, with you leading the operations personally. I will give you a 30% stake and provide initial funding of ten billion.
"In addition, all of High Culture's programs and celebrity resources will prioritize promoting your Flying Live. How about it? This offer is quite tempting, isn't it?" William said, looking at the mature and sexy beauty with great interest, her fiery red long dress catching everyone's attention.
"What difference does it make? Why should I believe you? I remember you are just a department manager at High Culture! You can't even make decisions regarding business acquisitions, let alone spending ten billion dollars right off the bat. Do you think I'm stupid?" Nina didn't believe William had this capability at all, and she would never agree to follow him.
However, William laughed and said, "Whether you believe it or not is up to you! But soon, you won't have a choice."
"What do you mean?" Nina became alert, sensing that something bad was about to happen.
William took out his phone and showed Nina a photo that Antony had just sent him. In the photo, George was in a private room at a bar, completely intoxicated.
"This, this is my brother. What did you do to him?" Nina didn't expect George to ignore her words and take matters into his own hands by leaving the Ashford Group with Antony for negotiations, only to end up completely drunk. It was evident that they had been outmaneuvered.
"He's just drunk! Don't worry, let me show you another photo!" William smiled, showing Nina another photo that Antony's assistant had sent him.
In this photo, it seemed like the Ashford Group shareholders were preparing to hold a meeting, and the people from the Power Group were also present.
"What are you trying to do?" Nina seemed to have thought of the worst possible outcome, which was to convene an emergency board meeting and elect a new chairman.
As soon as she realized this, Nina seemed to instantly understand why William had gone through the trouble of inviting her out.
Without her and George overseeing the Ashford Group, the shareholders were likely to be manipulated by Antony.
"Are you trying to acquire the Ashford Group? As long as I'm alive, you will never succeed." Nina's face turned cold, her hands clenched into fists. She was filled with anger, completely losing her calm.
"Acquiring the Ashford Group is not impossible, but what interests me more is that they are convening an emergency board meeting to change the chairman position to you." William smirked, wanting to turn the tables on the Ashford Group and its current leadership.
Breaking up George and Nina's relationship was a smart move.
"I wonder what your brother would think when he wakes up and finds out that his sister, in alliance with people from the Power Group, has usurped his position as chairman. I also wonder if he and his son would hate you if I were to say that I deceived Jovan's assets on your orders."
"William, you... You're really ruthless in your calculations. You want to drive a wedge between me and my brother." Nina was filled with anger and disbelief. She never expected this seemingly ordinary young man to be so cunning.
He not only wanted to break up her relationship with her brother but also desired to overthrow the Ashford Group. She felt cornered.
However, in the world of business, it's like being on a battlefield. They couldn't defeat them, so they could only surrender.
"What do you want in order to spare the Ashford Group?" Nina was now feeling powerless. She knew that if she didn't compromise soon, within an hour, the Ashford Group might truly belong to someone else, and her relationship with her brother might turn into enmity.
Watching this mature and seductive woman concede in front of him, William's lips curled slightly, and he said, "I can spare the Ashford Group, but I have two conditions. First, you unconditionally transfer your shares to the Power Group as the cost of testing Boss Jones. Boss Jones hates it when someone tests his bottom line. Second, you work with me wholeheartedly. As for the conditions, I've already mentioned before: I'll let you lead Flying Live."
Nina now had some belief in the promises William made earlier. This young man in front of her was definitely not as simple as he appeared.
"I can agree to your terms, but I need to see the temporary board of directors meeting cancelled with my own eyes. Otherwise, I won't ever agree with you," Nina said. This was also her way of testing whether William truly had the power to make the Power Group's people listen to him and cancel the temporary board of directors meeting.
"That's too simple. Just watch," William said with a slight smile, then immediately started a video chat with Antony's assistant, Vi, who was present in the VIP conference room of the Ashford Group.
Soon, Vi, Antony's assistant, connected with William through the video chat. "Mr. Brown, may I ask what your command is?"
"Help me cancel the temporary board of directors meeting. I will explain the situation to Boss Jones myself," William said calmly but with an irrefutable tone in his voice.
"Alright, I will immediately ask the shareholders to cancel the meeting," Vi agreed. While the video chat was still live, she announced the cancellation of the temporary board of directors meeting.
Although the shareholders expressed their complaints, they quickly left the meeting room.
The whole video call was handed over to Nina until the end of the call, and William lightly said to her, "So, can you agree now? I have shown you my sincerity."
"Alright, I agree! From now on, you are my boss." Nina made this choice reluctantly, but deep down, she had a faint feeling that her future destiny would likely change because of this seemingly ordinary young man.
"We are merely colleagues. I just oversee the livestreaming business," William humbly said. For now, he didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but he was in a good mood.
"Let's go. We are part of the same team now. Let's have a meal together later." Nina sighed.
Since returning from studying in the UK, she had encountered many rivals in New York, but this was the first time she had suffered such a big defeat, to the point where she had even bet her own future. She had no idea what her path would be like from now on.
