Chapter 148 I Kicked It, What Can You Do to Me?
Although it took some effort, Bund was finally caught. Soon, they would find out from him who wanted to sabotage the project Katharine was in charge of.
However, catching Bund meant that the Bell family would certainly not give up. But whether it was intimidation or enticement, William had to gain some benefits before letting Bund go; otherwise, it would be a loss for him.
The next morning, William was still sleeping on the sofa when he was awakened by the doorbell.
"Who is it?" William rubbed his sleepy eyes and checked the time on his phone. It was only 8 am, but he still stood up and went to open the door.
"Good morning, William." It was Kayla, looking stylish and sexy in her tight-fitting skirt and high heels. She still had that seductive and glamorous look, and when she saw William, she even gave him a charming glance, truly stunning and alluring.
"Kayla, why are you here so early? Don't tell me you want me to make breakfast for you again!" William yawned and led her inside, completely unaffected by Kayla's seductive look.
"I've done what you asked of me; I helped you with the Bund situation. So, shouldn't you fulfill your promise and accompany me to watch a movie?" Kayla said, walking in on her own.
She flipped her hair and spoke with a hint of charm, "Of course, being able to eat the breakfast you personally make would be lovely."
"You don't have to go so early just to watch a movie!" William was speechless. When did Kayla become so impatient?
"It's not easy to make plans to watch a movie with you, so of course I'm excited." Kayla was really looking forward to it. After yesterday's events, she was even more convinced of William's extraordinary identity and background. As a mysterious scion of a wealthy family, he was someone she had to pursue closely.
William shook his head in disbelief and let her sit in the villa on her own while he went straight to freshen up.
After getting ready, he boiled a few eggs in the kitchen.
Kayla soaked some oats and thought of helping William serve the food. However, she didn't expect the bowl to be hot, and her fingers were burned, causing her to cry out in pain.
William instinctively rushed over, grabbed Kayla's finger, and examined it. It was indeed a bit red. He immediately pulled her toward the kitchen faucet.
Seeing that William cared so much about her, Kayla inexplicably felt a warm sensation in her heart. No man had ever cared for her like this before. Most of them would just leer at her with lustful expressions.
"Are you feeling better now?" After rinsing her finger for a while, William asked with concern.
"Yes, it doesn't hurt anymore," Kayla nodded, but she didn't intend to retract her hand. Instead, she let William hold onto it.
Fiona smelled the fragrance of the food. She climbed out of her bed in a daze and ran to the kitchen, where she witnessed this scene.
"What are you two doing?"
"Nothing." Kayla suddenly blushed and quickly withdrew her hand from William's grasp.
William didn't think much of it and said, "Since you're up, let's have breakfast together. Afterward, you should head to the company early."
"Going to the company is so boring. Every day they make me practice walking, posing, dancing, and taking photos," Fiona said impatiently. She wanted to be a star, not a model.
"These are basic skills. Nowadays, it's popular for self-made and internet celebrities to debut. The company has its reasons for having you practice these. Of course, if you refuse, you can pack up and go home tomorrow," William smiled and said.
Fiona had a sweet and beautiful appearance, but she lacked talent. So the path of becoming an internet celebrity and participating in variety shows was the most suitable for her, and starting with short videos and live streaming to accumulate fans was the most appropriate approach.
"I don't want to go home." Fiona was provoked by William's words but managed to hold it in.
"Then come over and have breakfast! Tomorrow, I'll take you out to have some fun." William thought since Levi had given him a gold card for his entertainment clubs, he should make use of it and take her out to enjoy herself.
"Really? You promise? You're not lying to me, right?" Fiona got excited at the idea of William taking her out to have fun.
"I promise! I'm not lying!" William said, rolling his eyes.
After breakfast, Fiona took a taxi to the company for her practice, while William took Kayla to the largest pedestrian street for a movie.
Early in the morning, there weren't many people on the pedestrian street, but the shops and cinema were open. William and Kayla arrived at the entrance of the cinema and started browsing through the movies playing today.
"William, what movie should we watch? Since it's still early, let's watch a lot of movies today." Kayla naturally wanted to spend more time with William to deepen their connection.
"Earth's Lung!" William exclaimed. This was an environmental film, with footage taken from the primeval forest, documenting the forest, animals, forest fires, as well as the severe consequences of deforestation and pollution caused by human activities.
The movie seemed dull and uninteresting, so there were hardly any viewers. It was only William and Kayla, occupying the entire theater.
"Just the two of us?" Kayla sat in the theater and immediately noticed that they were the only ones there. This secretly pleased her.
"No one will watch this movie, so make sure not to fall asleep!" William chuckled.
"I'll watch as long as you're here," Kayla replied, teasing William. After all, she only wanted to spend time with him, so it didn't really matter what they did.
However, halfway through the movie, Kayla became bored. Subconsciously, she leaned toward William and ended up falling asleep with her head on his shoulder.
This kind of long and boring movie would indeed not interest most people, but professionals like William might be interested in supporting it.
Seeing Kayla asleep with her head on his shoulder, William smiled. He slightly adjusted his position, took off his jacket, and covered her with it, so she wouldn't catch a cold.
The movie ended quickly, and the numbness in William's shoulder from Kayla's sleeping position bothered him a bit. He moved slightly, unintentionally waking her up. She opened her eyes and realized that the movie had ended.
"Sorry, William. I fell asleep." Kayla apologized and then noticed the jacket covering her. Once again, a warm feeling spread through her heart.
"It's alright. Do you still want to watch another movie?" William smiled.
"Forget about movies for now, accompany me for a stroll! Besides, it's almost lunchtime. Let's go to an Italian restaurant!" Kayla thought watching the movie might be embarrassing, so she suggested going shopping instead.
"Alright, I'll just consider it as accompanying you today," William nodded, expressing his gratitude for her help yesterday.
Kayla was overjoyed to hear this.
Just as the two of them were leaving the movie theater, they bumped into someone who was walking toward them, arm in arm with a charming woman. Kayla's expression turned cold when she saw who it was.
"Isn't this Kayla, the illegitimate daughter of our Garcia family?" The person they bumped into was none other than Nathan, the young master of the Garcia family. Upon seeing Kayla, he mocked her with a sneer.
"William, let's go." Kayla didn't want to engage with him and tried to leave, but Nathan reached out to stop her.
"Why are you in such a hurry?" Nathan said maliciously, while also scanning the person following Kayla's lead.
He noticed William who was wearing cheap clothes. He couldn't help but mock, "Kayla, so now you're involved even with the poor people from the slums! Your network is getting wider and wider."
These words clearly carried a hint of derogation and sarcasm.
"Nathan, I'm in a good mood today. I don't want to argue with you. If you keep treating my friend like this, I won't be polite to you," Kayla said angrily.
Nathan was surprised to see her speaking up for this man, and curiosity arose within him.
"What's wrong? Are you angry because I mentioned this poor guy? Don't tell me you've fallen for him! The illegitimate daughter matched with a guy from the slums? You two are truly a perfect match, haha!" Nathan laughed uncontrollably.
He always looked down on Kayla, but he was jealous because she excelled in what he lacked. Now, he had the opportunity to ridicule her without mercy.
The woman beside him also joined in the mockery.
"Nathan, you asked for this!" Kayla was filled with shame and anger, especially after being mocked in front of William. She immediately hit Nathan on the face with her hand, creating a crisp sound. This instantly enraged Nathan, who started cursing her.
"You bitch, now you dare to hit me? You're nothing more than a pretty dog from the Garcia family," Nathan said as he swung his hand toward Kayla.
However, just as his hand was about to hit Kayla's face, a foot suddenly kicked him in the stomach. This unexpected attack sent Nathan flying several meters away.
Kayla and Nathan's female companion were stunned, and Nathan was in complete shock.
"Who kicked me?" Nathan, in a disheveled state, got up from the ground and locked his gaze onto William.
"It was me who kicked you. What can you do about it?" William smiled, his tone carrying a hint of provocation.
