Chapter 250 Obstruction of the Marriage Alliance
Early in the morning, William was diligently practicing martial arts in the yard. This was his daily routine, but today there was an additional spectator, the bald old man.
"The flow of his energy is very smooth. He is truly different," the old man sighed in amazement.
Only a grandmaster-level expert could unlock someone's potential by releasing their extraordinary powers. Usually, grandmasters would never expend their extraordinary powers just to unlock someone's potential unless that person could provide them with huge wealth or other things they desired.
"This person has unlocked his potential. It's the right time for me to pass on my knowledge," the old man thought to himself before stepping forward and saying, "Hey, you little brat, who did you learn this martial art from?"
"From Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grandmaster Dilma. Sir, do you happen to know him?" William chatted with him while punching.
"Dilma? Has this person become a grandmaster as well? Back in the day, I had crossed paths with him, and indeed, he was a highly talented expert. However, he lacked a certain killing intent. Come, spar with me for a few rounds." The old man looked eager to test William's skills.
"Sir, you are injured, and I dare not fight you. Let's wait until you have recovered before we exchange moves," William said, fearing that he might aggravate the old man's injury during the fight. After all, his punch now carried tremendous force, which was difficult even for an ordinary person to withstand, let alone an old man.
However, the bald old man smiled and said, "Don't worry about hurting me. You don't have the ability to do so. Come."
Since he had put it that way, William couldn't refuse any longer and said respectfully, "Then I shall make a move." With only half of his strength, William threw a punch at the bald old man. He was afraid that if he exerted his full power, he would end up hurting him.
But reality proved that William had been too cautious. The old man easily deflected the punch and even landed one of his own on William. It happened so fast that William, who tried to block with his fist, was startled. He realized that when the punch was about to reach his chest, the old man's wrist suddenly flicked, dramatically increasing the strength of the strike.
The blow landed on William's chest, sending him flying. The immense force knocked him off his feet.
"How was that? My punch isn't bad, right?" The bald old man laughed and walked toward William. As William got up from the ground, he was astonished. The old man's punch didn't seem strong, but when it was just an inch away from his chest, the old man's wrist trembled, and the power of the punch suddenly increased several times. What kind of technique was this? William was filled with curiosity.
"Sir, what is this punching technique? Why did the power suddenly increase when it was an inch away from my chest?"
"This is called Inch Punch. Do you want to learn?" The bald old man said with an unfriendly tone.
"Of course, I want to learn. Please teach me!" William felt delighted. With the Inch Punch combined with his usual strength, he could inflict several times more damage, so naturally, he wanted to learn it.
"If you want to learn, then accept me as your master," the old man revealed his intention. The sparring just now was to let William see the power of the Inch Punch, so that he would want to become his disciple.
"Master?" William suddenly understood. It seemed that the old man had set his sights on him early in the morning. No wonder he insisted on sparring with him. "In that case, I won't learn. I have already promised Dilma that I will become his disciple in Brazil after a year."
"How can you say you won't learn? The Inch Punch is so powerful, and not only can I perform it, but I can also kill someone with a stone from a hundred meters away," the old man said as he casually picked up a stone, held it in his hand, and aimed at a bird perched on a tree not far away. With a swift "whoosh," the stone flew through the air, and the bird on the tree fell with a thud.
William was amazed by the demonstration. This skill was truly astonishing.
Some excitement stirred within William. By learning this skill, he could attack opponents from a distance, like having a gun in his hands at all times. How cool is that? However, he still refused.
"No, since I promised Dilma, I cannot go back on my word," William said, turning to go back inside. But the old man clearly wasn't willing to let it go and blocked William's path.
"What if you don't join my family? Can you accept that?" the old man said, realizing that William's rejection was absolute. At the very least, this would ensure that his skills would continue.
"Not join the family?" William thought for a moment and felt that this was acceptable. He replied, "Alright."
"Oh, by the way, what should I call you, sir?" William remembered something and asked.
"Just call me Beauvoir," Beauvoir replied, seeming reluctant to say more.
During lunchtime, William set up three banquets in the villa. One was to reward Sharon, Gerald, and the others for their accomplishments, while the other was to get to know the three who had been rescued from the basement. In William's view, anyone imprisoned with Master Smith in the basement must have had a significant status, at least on par with Master Smith.
The middle-aged man in a suit was named Donald, currently ranking fifth in the Hamilton family. Two years ago, he was captured by the Graham family's people. He had been imprisoned for two years, during which the Hamilton family had already treated him as dead. His influence had also dissipated, making it extremely difficult for him to return to the Hamilton family.
"What are your plans for the future?" William asked Donald after offering him a drink.
"I don't have any plans. I just want to stay here for a while if you'll allow me," Donald replied.
Donald didn't dare to exert dominance in front of William. Even though he had fallen from grace, he still had foresight, and seeing how Sharon, Baca, and many other experts listened to William, it was evident that William had an extraordinary background.
If Donald could establish a good relationship with him, perhaps he could use this opportunity to make a comeback in the Hamilton family.
"You can stay for as long as you want," William said with a smile.
His gaze then fell upon the ten-year-old girl who was very beautiful and adorable. Her name was Eliza, and as for her family background, being so young, she couldn't remember anything. Nevertheless, William took her in and gave her a home.
With the addition of these few individuals, the whole villa suddenly became lively.
While William and his companions celebrated joyously, the Graham family's mansion was shrouded in silence. Timothy sat on the sofa, wearing a dead expression, his pupils dilated.
The four captives who were detained at his headquarters had been rescued, and not only that, the security guards of the mansion were also brutally killed. In addition, the destruction of the suburban estate had left Timothy with very few people he could send out.
This was a disaster for him. Once the headquarters started an investigation, he feared that he would have to bear all the responsibilities and face death.
Just when he was in despair, Ryder burst in like a whirlwind.
"Dad? Dad! Arturo is back!"
Upon hearing that his younger brother Arturo had returned, Timothy suddenly perked up. He stood up and said, "Go and welcome Arturo."
Arturo was now Timothy's only hope. Not only was Arturo smart and resourceful, but he also had a good relationship with martial artists. Therefore, Timothy could only rely on Arturo to turn things around.
Timothy quickly welcomed Arturo into the villa. On his way here, Arturo had already learned about what had happened.
"Arturo, what do you think we should do now?" Timothy was anxious.
"Don't worry, this time I have invited the grandmaster of karate, Gregory, to assist us. He is accompanied by twenty skilled students, each a master." Arturo's eyes flashed with a hint of confidence.
"Really? That's great! We have no one left to send out here." Timothy's hope was instantly ignited upon hearing that Gregory had been invited.
"The most important thing now is to arrange the layout at the concert venue, capture Sophia, and prevent the alliance between the Smith family and the Brown family. If we do it well, headquarters might overlook our failure and spare us. If we don't capture Sophia successfully this time, our branch here will be doomed and we won't even have a chance to return to headquarters."
Arturo's eyes darkened. He vaguely felt that someone was secretly undermining the Graham family. However, they needed to endure it for now. Once they capture Sophia and complete the mission assigned by headquarters, they will have the opportunity to plot against those who targeted the Graham family, especially William.
