Chapter 268 Taking the Initiative
After eliminating Arturo, William felt more at ease shooting "Wilderness Life."
However, since that night, Sophia seemed to be even closer to William and would personally change his bandages every time.
"William, are you awake? It's time to change your dressing." Early in the morning, Sophia entered William's tent, holding medicine and gauze, only to find him missing.
"Where is he?" Sophia was surprised, but then she heard William's voice from behind her.
"I woke up early." William had already started exercising. He couldn't stand not exercising for a day; it made him feel uncomfortable.
"Your wounds haven't healed yet. Why are you in a hurry to exercise? Aren't you afraid of reopening the wound? Sit down, I'll change your bandages." Sophia pulled William into the tent and said seriously, "Take off your clothes!"
"This isn't appropriate. If someone sees us, it will affect your reputation! I'll do it myself." William was worried about tarnishing Sophia's reputation. After all, she was a big star, and it wouldn't be good if rumors started swirling about him and Sophia.
"There's nothing to be afraid of. I'll just open the tent and let them all see," Sophia said as she pulled open the tent, allowing bright light to flood in.
"Alright." Seeing that Sophia had gone to such lengths, it would be rude to refuse again.
With that, William took off his upper clothes.
Seeing William's bare upper body, Sophia felt a bit nervous and shy, but she quickly adjusted her emotions and began changing his bandages carefully.
Sophia already knew the process of changing the bandages very well, so she quickly finished the task with ease.
"There, your wound is healing well. Be more careful while exercising," Sophia reminded him as she stood up.
"Okay," William responded.
After changing William's bandages, Sophia went off to shoot the program.
Over the next few days, the filming work went smoothly, and "Wilderness Life" was completed successfully.
All the staff gathered together to take a group photo.
"Alright, you all have worked hard. After half a month of living and sleeping here, you can finally go back and rest!" the director announced.
After spending more than half a month together, everyone here admired William.
"Mr. Brown, see you next time!" The participating celebrities also came over to greet William.
A female star with a decent appearance shook hands with William and slipped him a note.
"Mr. Brown, I'm on Long Island. You can come find me anytime," she said, throwing a flirtatious glance at William. "Bye-bye. I'll be waiting for you."
William smiled speechlessly, opened the note, and saw a phone number written on it.
Did she want William to contact her later? It can be understood though. These kinds of struggling stars want their exposure to increase, and the more scenes they have in the editing process, the more exposure they get. And how many scenes to edit is just a matter of William's decision as the producer, so this little star didn't approach the wrong person.
While he was looking at the note, colleagues from High Culture came over to greet him and bid farewell.
"We're leaving. When will you return to the company? We all miss you," they said to William.
"I'll come back once I finish handling things on Long Island." William said goodbye to them.
And then there was Mason. William planned to dismiss him.
Soon, the staff on the island had all left, and William and his team boarded the original ship.
They were finally going back. But this time, William had to prepare to frame the Graham family in Long Island.
"It seems you won't have an easy time on Long Island, Karson." William leaned against the railings on the deck, a hint of coldness in his eyes.
Suddenly, Sophia walked over and glanced at William before asking, "What did Ophelia give you before she left?"
Ophelia was the celebrity who had slipped a small note to William before they left the island.
"Just a small note asking me to meet her on Long Island," William replied truthfully.
"She knows how to reach out to people. She's willing to do anything for publicity! Will you go?" Sophia asked.
Considering the success of "Wilderness Life", Sophia could understand why a female celebrity would try to make connections with a producer. However, she found it distasteful.
"We'll see! She does have a nice figure," William remarked casually, although he had no intention of actually meeting up with Ophelia.
However, Sophia was displeased and even angry upon hearing this.
"Men are all the same. They can't resist when a beautiful woman comes to them. William, I've misjudged you!" Sophia huffed and walked away with an irritated demeanor.
"I was just teasing you. I'd rather go on a date with you than her." William chuckled, but he was not in the best mood.
Upon hearing this, Sophia's lips curled into a smile, and her mood improved slightly. But she still maintained a stern face as she walked back and said, "So, do you want to date me?"
"Where would you like to go? I'll take you," William said with a smile.
"Let me think." Sophia tilted her head, contemplating. Just then, Kylie walked over and said, "No need to think. There's a charity gala on Long Island tomorrow. It's attended by high society figures. The company specifically asked you to attend, as it will help your image and network."
"That works for me. William, you should come too!" Sophia said.
"Will all the big shots on Long Island attend it?" William thought for a moment, and a sudden idea flashed through his mind.
"They should, right?" Sophia wasn't sure either, so she turned to Kylie.
"The charity gala tomorrow is quite grand. Basically, all the upper-class elites of Long Island will be there. I have the guest list here. I'll send it to you; you can take a look!" Kylie said, sending Sophia the images of the guest list.
Upon receiving it, Sophia opened the files and showed them to William.
"They're all here. You can zoom in on the images to see the details."
William wanted to know if Karson would go. If he did, tomorrow's charity event would be a perfect opportunity to kill him.
William enlarged the picture on the phone and indeed saw Karson's name on the guest list. He smirked and said to Sophia, "I'll accompany you to tomorrow's charity event."
