Chapter 214 Don't let this poor person deceive you
When Cesar heard the receptionist chasing after him, he immediately stopped.
"Sir, Boss Jones said he is currently in a meeting but will see you in 5 minutes. Let me take you to the chairman's office!" The receptionist's attitude was much more respectful now.
"He has time to see me?" Cesar was surprised. Didn't they just say he didn't have time? How could it change so quickly?
Cesar suddenly thought of the black card. It seemed that the black card was indeed useful.
"Yes, please follow me!" The receptionist led the way towards the elevator while speaking.
Cesar didn't hesitate and quickly followed. He couldn't afford to miss such a great opportunity!
Soon, the elevator reached the tenth floor and stopped. Guided by the receptionist, Cesar arrived at the chairman's office.
"Please wait here, sir. Boss will be here shortly." The receptionist left, and Antony's secretary came in, pouring Cesar a cup of tea. The service was very considerate.
Moreover, being allowed to wait in the chairman's office showed that Antony valued Cesar.
Cesar had barely sat for a few minutes when Antony walked in, holding the black card and the documents about Cesar's company.
"You've waited for a long time." Antony approached Cesar eagerly with his hand extended, and Cesar was pleasantly surprised, quickly shaking hands to show his respect.
"I am honored that you took the time to meet me amidst your busy schedule." Cesar didn't dare to act presumptuous; after all, Antony was a prominent figure in New York.
After exchanging a few polite remarks, Antony took out the black card and asked, "How did you obtain this black card?"
Cesar wasn't foolish. It seemed that he was granted an audience with Antony due to the prestige of the black card.
"My daughter received it from a friend who said that she could secure an investment by coming to see you," Cesar replied honestly, without withholding any information.
"Since you have this black card, the amount of investment is not a problem," Antony said. He then took out the detailed information about Cesar's company and carefully examined it before calling in his investment analyst for evaluation.
"Mr. Cesar, how much financing are you looking for?" Antony handed the documents to the professional analyst and turned to Cesar to ask.
"Five billion dollars." Cesar hesitated before speaking. For such a large amount of funds, even on Long Island, it could be counted on one's fingers. He was worried that Antony might lack the ability to provide such an investment. However, to his surprise, Antony readily agreed.
"No problem, but we'll need 40% of the shares. Additionally, we can offer you membership in our WE ARE Chamber, which will help your home industry enter the New York market faster," Antony said with a smile. He was quite considerate towards Cesar. Otherwise, with this nearly bankrupt company, not taking over more than 50% of the shares would be an insult to him.
"Really? Boss Jones, thank you!" Cesar suddenly became excited. He initially thought that securing a financing of five billion dollars would already be excellent, but unexpectedly, he was also about to enter a new market. This made him even more thrilled than the financing itself.
After spending most of the day, Cesar finally signed the financing agreement and the application to join the WE ARE Chamber. With money and a future market, Cesar's long-held worries were finally put to rest. He even looked forward to the future and could finally have a good night's sleep.
After leaving the Power Group, Cesar immediately took a car back to Ring Villa to see his daughter, Fiona.
"This girl actually made friends with such remarkable individuals." Sitting in the car, Cesar secretly praised his daughter. He never expected that letting her out this time would bring such a pleasant surprise.
Upon returning to Ring Villa, Fiona was being looked after by two bodyguards inside the villa, not even going to the company.
At this moment, she sat on the sofa, bored, watching TV to pass the time.
After Cesar tidied up his mood and entered, he asked the two bodyguards to step out first, then sat down on the sofa, and apologized in a low voice.
"Fiona, I'm sorry for hitting you this morning. Does your face still hurt?"
Seeing her father come back, Fiona didn't mind being slapped. Instead, she asked with great concern.
"Dad, did you secure the funding?"
Whether or not they could secure the funding was crucial to her future happiness, even more important than being slapped.
"Yes, we secured it. Five billion US dollars, and we even joined the WE ARE Chamber, which means we have expanded our market. Your black card really helped me a lot this time," Cesar was delighted. He truly relied on Fiona's fan friend this time.
"I told you this black card is useful!" Fiona's face was full of smugness.
"Yes! We owe it to your fan friend for helping us this time. If my company in Long Island had gone bankrupt, we might never be able to go back to Canada again," Cesar sighed. He was grateful they made it through this crisis.
"Dad, what do you mean we might never go back to Canada? Did something big happen to our family?" Fiona asked in surprise. The Turner family was a big clan and had a kinship with the Smith family. Otherwise, she wouldn't be Sophia's cousin.
"What else could it be? Your uncles fought for power, driving me out and sending me to Long Island. They said I would oversee the home furnishings industry in the family, but in reality, the home furnishings industry in Long Island was already on the brink of bankruptcy."
Cesar was indignant and resentful. He only blamed himself for trusting the wrong person, which led to the failure in the power struggle and being forced to Long Island, coming close to bankruptcy.
"By the way, we will temporarily live in Long Island from now on. If you want to see your mother, come to Long Island," Cesar said slowly.
"Okay," Fiona nodded, not fully understanding the power struggle. It was something she has no idea about.
"By the way, can your fan friend help me arrange a meeting? I want to thank him in person," Cesar thought for a moment and said. After all, this black card had helped him immensely, and it was only right to express his gratitude in person.
Besides, he wanted to take this opportunity to befriend this influential person. It would definitely be helpful for his future career.
"I'll try!" Fiona nodded. In fact, she also wanted to meet Raining. She had been thinking about him all night, and it felt a little embarrassing to say it out loud.
"Then, I'll leave this matter to you. Build a good relationship with him. In the future, we might need his help," Cesar felt that Fiona's fan had an impressive background. It could be useful to him if he wanted to return to Canada in the future.
"Okay."
"I will make an effort to improve my relationship with him." Fiona couldn't help but think of the scene yesterday when they hugged each other tightly, causing her face to blush.
Just then, William walked in from the door, wanting to check on Fiona's condition for the day. However, as soon as he entered, he saw a middle-aged stranger sitting on the couch.
"Fiona, who is this?" William asked unintentionally.
"He is my dad, who specially came to see me!" Fiona introduced him to her father, saying, "Dad, this is William. Um, the male nanny at my house."
William was speechless for a moment, but he didn't object. After all, her father was here, and it wouldn't be good for him to know that his daughter was doing housework here.
Fiona's expression was also a bit awkward. His precious daughter was suffering so much outside then doing all the house chores. He might take Fiona away in minutes.
"A male nanny." Cesar looked William up and down, dressed cheaply, with a disdainful expression. He reminded his daughter, "Keep your distance from this kind of poor person. Don't let him deceive you!"
"Don't worry, Dad. I will never be deceived by him in my life." Fiona raised her head proudly. William forced her to do housework every day, so she wouldn't be deceived by him.
But if they knew that William was the "Raining" Fiona had mentioned, their expressions would be hard to predict.
