Chapter 172 One Step Closer to the Target

Clearly, the Bell family hadn't noticed William and Sharon's arrival yet. They were following behind a black dog, slowly surrounding the abandoned factory.

"Finn should be inside. We should split up and surround him. We can't let him escape again, or else we'll be punished when we go back!" A man holding the dog, clearly the leader of the group, commanded his subordinates as they slowly closed in on the factory.

William noticed that they were all focused on the factory and smirked.

"We can move now."

As soon as he finished speaking, Sharon swiftly pounced forward like a leopard, incredibly fast. In an instant, she knocked down the person closest to her with a single punch. William was in awe, her speed was unbelievable. In the blink of an eye, she had already taken down one person.

Judging by that speed, William was confident that he couldn't match Sharon's moves.

After knocking down one person, Sharon quickly changed targets, landing another punch to take down someone on her left. Her punches were quick, precise, and powerful, truly that of a martial arts master.

"Who is she? Kill her!" After Sharon took down two people in a row, she finally caught their attention.

Soon, the remaining eight people rushed towards Sharon along with the dog, led by the leader.

Sharon remained calm, leaping towards one of them and kicking him directly in the neck. The man fell instantly, unconscious on the ground.

The sight left the others dumbfounded, her attack was too merciless!

"Grab weapons, kill her now!" The man holding the dog saw Sharon's prowess and quickly pulled out a long stick from his waist, loudly shouting. Then, the rest of them also took out their long sticks and started smashing them towards Sharon.

William was filled with nervousness watching so many people ganging up on Sharon. He couldn't wait any longer.

"It's time for me to step in." With all their attention focused on Sharon, William's eyes turned cold. He grabbed a brick nearby and quickly approached them.

William targeted the person closest to him, appearing from behind and smashing the brick down on his head. The person immediately fell to the ground, blood flowing from his head.

Once he succeeded, William immediately leaped again, quickly making his moves.

With a kick, he knocked down another person who hadn't reacted yet. The man tried to get up and see who kicked him, but William came at him with a brick and knocked him down to the ground.

"You bastard, another one? Boys, finish them," the leader shouted and quickly sent two people to surround William.

The remaining four, led by the leader, continued to attack Sharon with long sticks, dividing the battlefield into two.

"Good timing," William smirked. It had been a while since he had been in a real fight. Today, he would let loose and enjoy himself.

The two opponents swung their long sticks at William, but he fought back with the brick. Fortunately, the two thugs were just ordinary street punks. After a few moves, William seized the opportunity and hit one of them on the head with the brick.

The person immediately collapsed, clutching his head, while the remaining one was quickly defeated by William.

Although Sharon was surrounded by four people, she effortlessly dealt with them.

The fight only lasted for about ten minutes. Sharon took down most of the attackers, while William took advantage and launched a few sneak attacks.

Kayla, who was waiting in the car, saw that William and the others had taken down all the Bell family members. She breathed a sigh of relief, quickly got out of the car, and ran towards them.

"William, Sharon, are you guys okay?" Kayla approached them, wanting to check if they were injured. However, at this moment, a terrifying barking sound came from a corner. Soon, a large dog appeared, baring its sharp teeth, and lunged at Kayla.

The dog continued to growl ferociously, its menacing appearance frightening Kayla, who turned pale and felt her legs go weak.

"Kayla!" William was alarmed when he saw this. Without thinking, he immediately rushed towards Kayla. At the same time, the large wolf dog also pounced at Kayla.

William was able to grab Kayla before the dog reached her, but due to the force of the impact, they both fell to the ground. However, the dog managed to bite William's foot.

Luckily, William was wearing shoes, so the wound on his foot was small. Frowning slightly, he protected Kayla in his arms and kicked the dog forcefully, sending it flying. In the process, his shoe also flew off.

Now barefoot, there was a slight trace of a bite on William's foot, with a hint of blood. It was evident that the dog had managed to bite him.

"You damn mutt, you bit my shoe," William thought about chasing after the dog and killing it. However, Sharon dashed out first, leapt in the air, and kicked the dog hard. It crashed heavily onto the ground, only managing to wail a few times before going silent.

With a twisted mouth, dog breathed his last breath, indicating just how powerful the kick was.

Kayla, who was being protected by William, secretly opened her eyes when she no longer heard the intimidating sounds of the dog. She then realized that she was in William's embrace, with the two of them in a tangled mess on the ground.

But at this moment, Kayla felt a warm sensation. As she looked at William, who was within arm's reach, her heartbeat accelerated for the first time. Her face turned slightly crimson. It was the first time a man had risked his life to save her, giving Kayla a feeling of attraction.

"Kayla, are you okay?" William regained his strength and glanced at Kayla in his arms, asking with concern.

"I'm fine." Kayla suddenly felt a bit timid, unable to meet William's gaze. Previously, she had always teased him, but unexpectedly, she felt shy now. She didn't even have the courage to lock eyes with William, unsure of what was happening to herself.

"It's good that you're okay." William helped Kayla to her feet. As he did so, he instinctively looked at his left foot, which had been bitten by the dog, revealing a minor skin wound and a faint trace of blood.

"William, you've been bitten by a dog. Let me accompany you to the hospital for a vaccination!" Kayla said nervously, immediately squatting down to carefully examine William's wound.

William was about to decline, as it was just a minor skin wound.

But before he could say anything, Kayla suddenly turned and ran to the car. She grabbed a bottle of mineral water and returned, crouching down to clean William's wound with extreme gentleness, afraid of causing him any pain.

"Does it hurt?" Kayla expressed her concern with a touch of compassion.

"It's alright." William had never seen Kayla care for him like this before. He wasn't used to it. Then he remembered something and said, "Kayla, we should hurry and find Finn inside. It's not safe to stay here! If the Bell family's people come again, we'll be in trouble."

"Okay, I'll call Finn." After finishing cleaning the wound on William's foot, Kayla stood up and dialed Finn's number.

This abandoned factory on the outskirts was quite large, and it would take a lot of time to search inside. If Finn was intentionally hiding, it would be even more difficult to find him.

Luckily, it seemed that Finn trusted Kayla or he was simply starving. After making the call, Finn stumbled out on his own.

"Kayla, it's about time you came! Did you bring any food?" Finn, in a disheveled state with messy hair and dirty clothes, giving off a pungent smell, had clearly been hiding here for several days.

"Let's eat in the car. It's not safe to stay here!" William said, hastily guiding Finn into the car and making him sit in the back seat. With Sharon keeping an eye on him, he probably wouldn't be able to cause any trouble.

What a trick.

Once they were in the car, Kayla handed him the bread, drinks, and mineral water she had prepared in advance. Finn didn't hesitate and immediately wolfed it all down as if he had been starving for days, resembling a pitiful beggar.

"How many days have you been starving?" Kayla couldn't help but ask, holding her nose due to his sour and unpleasant smell.

"I haven't eaten anything for two days. I already told you the conditions - get me out of New York and take me to Haverstraw. Take my 5% stake in the Garcia Group for four million dollars," Finn said, before continuing to munch on the bread.

William wasted no time and started the car engine, heading towards the East District. Haverstraw is located on the east side of the East District, and it would take at least two hours to drive there.

For William, sending someone out of New York was actually a simple matter, but it added a bit of difficulty being in the North District. Once they were out of the North District, the Bell family wouldn't stand a chance against William.

William accelerated the car and occasionally glanced around, afraid that members of the Bell family would suddenly appear and block their way.

Fortunately, the influence of the Bell family had not reached the point of being able to blockade roads. Otherwise, William and the others would have found it challenging to smoothly leave the North District.

As the car left the North District, William secretly breathed a sigh of relief, and Finn's complexion relaxed significantly.

However, just after leaving the North District, Kayla requested William to detour to the hospital in the East District.

"William, I need to go to the hospital."

"To the hospital? Are you feeling unwell?" William turned his head and asked with concern.

"It's for the rabies vaccine. This is more important than the shares." Kayla had been thinking about this matter the whole time when they were still in the dangerous area of the North District. Now that they were out of the North District, the first thing she wanted to do was to take William to the hospital for the rabies vaccine.

"My foot doesn't hurt anymore. Let's handle the important matter first," William thought they should take care of the share transfer first and go for the vaccine later. Little did he expect that Kayla would insist on going to the hospital.

"If we're not going to the hospital, I'll jump out of the car."

William was slightly taken aback. What had happened to Kayla today? She had never been mad at him before.

She, unexpectedly threw a tantrum at this moment.

"Well, fine then." William didn't dare to provoke her, especially since she was doing it for his own good. He could only detour to a hospital in the East district.

Then Kayla got off the car and accompanied William to the hospital, while Sharon stayed in the car to watch over Finn. Upon seeing Kayla caring so much for William, Finn couldn't help but wear a face of disbelief.

"Kayla has never cared for any man like this before. This guy is really lucky to have won over Kayla's heart."

Finn wore an expression of envy, jealousy, and resentment.

An hour later, William, after getting the rabies vaccine with Kayla accompanying him, returned to the car.

Finn noticed that Kayla's gaze towards William was indeed different, which further confirmed his thoughts. Unable to resist, he patted William's shoulder and curiously asked.

"How did you manage to pursue Kayla? Enlighten me, it'll be convenient for me to make a move too!"

"You want me to teach you flirting skills?" William was a little speechless. He never pursued Kayla, so what experience can he share with him?

"Kayla's standards are very high. There are so many men pursuing her, but she never accepted any of them. You don't seem like a wealthy person either, so how did you win over Kayla?" Finn's ability to read people's expressions and thoughts was a skill honed from socializing.

Kayla would prioritize buying shares, considering she had asked about the price multiple times. But now, she was in a hurry to accompany William to get the rabies vaccine, which was just a minor issue. Moreover, Kayla's gaze towards William clearly carried a hint of affection. Finn's gaze couldn't be deceived by all of this.

"Finn, if you want to leave the city, stop talking nonsense." Kayla quickly interrupted.

"Alright, I won't ask anymore. I'll just continue eating my food!" Finn saw that Kayla's expression was a bit serious, so he immediately closed his mouth and continued eating his bread.

After leaving the hospital, the group continued eastward. After another hour and a half of driving, they finally arrived at the border of New York and Haverstraw. Crossing one more bridge would take them to Haverstraw.

"All right, once we cross that bridge, we'll be in Haverstraw. We've done what you asked for. As for the shares, just sign this contract, and here's a bank card with one million dollars!" William took out a contract and a bank card with one million dollars that he had previously kept in his pocket, and handed them to Finn.

"What? One million dollars? Are you kidding me? We agreed on four million dollars! You're taking advantage of the situation! I already sold the 5% shares for a measly price, and now you're trying to buy at the lowest point!"

Finn was furious. He originally thought that four million dollars was already a low price, but he didn't expect William to be so ruthless and directly cut it down.

"One million dollars, it's almost like giving it away for free."

"Alright then, I'll have it delivered back to the Bell family in the North district. Maybe I can make a few million by turning you in." William started the car engine, prepared to drive back. He had the upper hand, and he wouldn't be satisfied unless the price was cut.

Finn was terrified by this and quickly begged for mercy.

"No, no, no. I was just joking! One million dollars is enough."

Finn couldn't bear to sell himself for just one million dollars. As he spoke, his eyes darted around, and he quietly opened the car door, planning to escape. However, just as he was about to step out, Sharon forcefully pulled him back.

"Running away is impossible," William said with a laugh. "Just sign the contract obediently! It's already great that you can get a million dollars!"

Realizing that escape was hopeless, Finn sighed quietly.

"I really don't know if meeting someone like you is lucky or unlucky," Finn said. He reluctantly took the contract and bank card, and signed his name on them.

He felt a pang of regret. Under normal circumstances, his 5% stake in the Garcia Group would be worth several billion dollars. Who would have thought he would sell it so cheaply for just one million dollars?

"I've signed it, can I leave?" Finn asked.

"Yes, you can go," William replied, a slight smile forming at the corner of his mouth.

With Finn's 5% stake, William now held a total of 15% of the Garcia Group's shares. He was one step closer to his goal.
