Chapter 375 The Cold and Beautiful Assistant
In the VIP Room 3, the cold and beautiful woman was shocked to see that William had become the interviewer, but fortunately, she adjusted her attitude quickly.
"Hello, my name is Vivian. This is my resume," Vivian said with a dignified attitude as she handed the resume she had prepared in advance to William.
The latter was quite interested in her, so he sat down and casually flipped through her resume.
But he was astonished by what he saw.
"Master's degrees in Accounting and Economics, proficient in ten languages..."
These dazzling qualifications truly stunned William. What's more, Vivian was only thirty years old. This was simply incredible.
William closed the resume and put it on the table. Faced with such a talented and attractive woman, he only wanted to ask one question.
"Why would someone as outstanding as you choose to come to the BN Group?"
This question, though simple, had a deeper meaning.
"BN Group is one of the most famous conglomerates in Toronto. Anyone who wants to develop in Toronto would consider entering the BN Group as their first choice. I am no exception."
Vivian paused for a moment and continued, "Additionally, the industries under the BN Group's name align perfectly with my field of study. Being able to work at the BN Group would allow me to showcase my skills."
After finishing her answer, Vivian's gaze fell on William. She felt a bit nervous. She had prepared many professional questions, but she didn't expect the interviewer to ask this kind of question.
William nodded. This answer could only be considered average.
Subsequently, William asked her several questions related to values and character.
The questions asked were anything but professional. The answers, however, were meticulous, indicating that Vivian was a pragmatic and capable powerhouse, a clear self-made woman.
"Alright, as an assistant to the chairman, you're considered qualified." William nodded in approval, satisfied with her performance.
Immediately after William finished his interview, the receptionist walked in again and said to William, "Mr. Brown, Mr. Baker is waiting for you in VIP Room 1. You can go now."
"Alright." William nodded and then placed the bottle of '82 Lafite Rothschild in front of Vivian, raising an eyebrow as he said, "This wine is for you to enjoy!"
After saying this, William left the room while Vivian turned her head to take another look at him, feeling that he didn't seem as ignorant as he appeared.
Inside VIP Room 1, Peter, the chairman of the BN Group, was already waiting for William. When he saw William enter, he waved his hand to dismiss the receptionist and respectfully approached William.
"Sir, you finally arrived. I've been waiting for you for a long time."
"Were you really in an emergency meeting just now?" William sat down on a chair, staring straight at Peter.
"Sir, you have keen eyes. The two candidates you interviewed were also part of the preparation for your future tasks," Peter wiped his sweat and said, not daring to hide anything. He felt that this heir of "The Browns' Property" was not easy to handle.
"My future tasks? Does my father have other arrangements for me?"
William frowned slightly.
"But it's quite simple. There's only one main task," Peter replied respectfully.
"What task?" William asked calmly.
"It's to turn the BN Group from losses to profits," Peter explained, bowing.
"Isn't that something the chairman should be doing? Why am I being asked to do it?" William was a bit speechless.
"Sir, you might not know, but in the past year, the BN Group has been heavily suppressed by the Campbell family using improper means. They have been exploiting their behind-the-scenes influence to seize the industries under BN Group's name. We're actually quite disadvantaged now," Peter explained helplessly.
"I see," William responded. No wonder his father wanted him to bring down the Campbell family. It seems that BN Group and the Campbell family have clashed many times in this past year, and most likely, BN Group has been defeated, resulting in financial losses.
"Well, what kind of tasks did my father assign to me?" William wanted to hear what Peter had to say first.
Peter clarified, "Please let me explain that the specific tasks are all arranged by Master Brown. I am only responsible for relaying the message!" He hesitated briefly before continuing, "The first job arrangement is for you to attend the freshmen welcome party at Kings University as a special guest, representing the heir of the Brown family. This will allow you to make connections with influential individuals and top talents."
William furrowed his brow but soon let it go. He realized that Kings University was filled with wealthy heirs and elite talents. Building relationships with them would indeed enhance the reputation of the Brown family. Of course, he would attend the event as the family heir.
"Yes, as for the woman you just interviewed, she will be your assistant and secretary from now on. How you choose to utilize her position is entirely up to you," Peter bowed again.
"My secretary? Wasn't she applying for the position of the Chairman's assistant?" William asked with confusion.
"Once I received notice of your arrival, I arranged for you to select an assistant. The previous rounds were conducted by our HR department, and I had planned to personally interview the final candidates. However, you happened to be available, so I thought it would be best for you to conduct the interview yourself," Peter replied truthfully.
"I see. You really put in a lot of effort! Alright, I'll take Vivian with me later. Provide her with a salary and benefits corresponding to the level of the Chairman's assistant. Also, find a house near Kings University for me." William thought it would be convenient for Michelle as well.
"No problem. The properties near Kings University are all under our control. I will arrange everything for you, sir," Peter responded.
"Good. That's settled then!" William stood up and immediately returned to VIP Room 3. Vivian remained seated there, with the bottle of Lafite in front of her. She hesitated to drink it.
After entering VIP Room 3, Peter instructed Vivian, "Congratulations, Vivian. You've passed our interview, and you will now be Mr. Brown's assistant. You will be earning a seven-figure salary, excluding bonuses."
Vivian was taken aback. She asked with some confusion, "Mr. Baker, I interviewed for the position of the Chairman's assistant. Mr. Brown doesn't seem to be the Chairman."
"Yes, you are correct. You are my assistant. However, the task I am assigning you now is to always be with Mr. Brown. So just follow his arrangements. Your salary and benefits will be at the level of the Chairman's assistant," Peter explained.
There was a twist in the explanation.
"Alright, Mr. Baker!" Although Vivian was somewhat dissatisfied in her heart, she still agreed.
