Chapter 161 Teach You How to Behave
After leaving the Garcia Group, William took Kayla straight back to Ring Villa. In the car, Kayla was feeling dejected.
She couldn't help but ask, "William, what do you mean by saying that going to the North District is an opportunity?"
William smiled and was surprised that Kayla only asked now. He explained to her, "In the North District, no one will control you. This is a perfect chance for you to develop your own team and secretly acquire shares from the shareholders of the group. When the time is right, it will be your moment to take over the Garcia Group."
"But the North District is under the control of three major families, the Bell family, Miller family, and the Harrison family. They collectively dominate nearly 80% of the business industry there. It's almost impossible for outsiders to enter and develop. That's why my father sent me to the North District," Kayla frowned, unable to understand how there could be any development opportunities there.
"You will know in the future," William said with a mysterious smile. He had already considered taking action against the three families in the North District, and now he could start moving forward with this idea. Antony and Levi had prepared well in the North District during the past few days. It was time to reorganize the business influence in the North District.
"Alright," although Kayla didn't understand what William was thinking, she still chose to trust him. However, halfway through, Kayla suddenly remembered something important and called out to William, "William, I forgot to buy a gift for Fiona. Take me to the nearest mall quickly."
This morning, Kayla promised Fiona that she would bring her a gift after work. Going back empty-handed might disappoint Fiona.
William nodded understandingly, he changed direction midway, and drove to the nearest mall.
It was now evening, and the mall was still crowded. The items here were also considered high-end and not cheap.
"Kayla, you seem to care a lot about Fiona," William couldn't help but ask curiously as he watched Kayla carefully picking a gift for Fiona. He remembered that Kayla and Fiona had only met a few times, yet they already seemed so close.
"I've never had a woman friend from childhood until now. Fiona is the first one who treats me like a sister. How can I not be good to her?" Kayla said seriously as she continued browsing. Although she had only known Fiona for a few days, she had developed an unexpectedly strong liking for the girl.
"Well, the girl has grown up,"
Indeed, she has improved a lot. She used to be very willful. When we first met, she treated me like a servant. I went out for a few days, and she caused trouble at the bar. If you knew Fiona from before, you wouldn't think that way," William said lightly, expressing his satisfaction with Fiona's recent changes.
"Is that so? No wonder you make her do household chores every day. It turns out you're getting back at her," Kayla couldn't help but smile, her expression was extremely charming.
William shook his head in silence. It wasn't revenge; he was just training her.
"The items here are too inexpensive. Let's go to the luxury cosmetics store on the sixth floor. I'll buy her a few sets of Chanel makeup," Kayla thought about getting Fiona something good. It was evident that she came from a wealthy family, and if it was too cheap, she definitely wouldn't appreciate it.
Helplessly, William followed Kayla to the sixth floor.
This place was filled with international brands in the cosmetics industry, such as Chanel, Dior, Lancôme, and more, but the prices were outrageously high.
Kayla seemed to be familiar with this place and went straight to the Chanel makeup store.
"I would like to have a set of the full range of twelve shades of Chanel's Velvet Lip Glides. Do you still have it in stock?" Kayla professionally asked the salesperson, as if she already knew about this highly sought-after series.
"We happen to have the last set of the full range. It costs 188,000 dollars. Would you like to pay by card, miss?" The salesperson quickly smiled and provided an answer.
"I'll pay by card." Kayla breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, she arrived in time. This Chanel Velvet Lip Glides set was in high demand recently, and she was afraid it would be sold out before she got her hands on it. Fortunately, there was still one set left.
However, as soon as she took out her bank card, a man's voice sounded from behind, with a hint of provocation.
"I'll pay double!"
Upon hearing this voice, William and Kayla almost simultaneously turned their heads and saw a man in branded clothing standing there, looking disdainfully at William and Kayla.
He had a sexy woman on his arm, dressed provocatively, with both of her fair legs nearly naked and her deep cleavage barely hidden.
"I want this set of Chanel's full range of twelve Velvet Lip Glides, and I'll pay double the price," the man emphasized provocatively as he walked up, accompanied by the sexy woman.
"I'm sorry, but I saw this set first," Kayla didn't want to give up this set of Chanel's full range Velvet Lip Glides.
"I'll pay triple," the man arrogantly said, completely ignoring Kayla, and as for William beside her, he didn't even glance at him. He thought that William, dressed in cheap clothes, was just a poor person without money.
"I said I saw it first. Don't we have to follow the rule of first come, first served when buying things?" Kayla disapproved of this person's behavior. He believed that he could buy anything with money.
"Who said you have to follow the rules when buying things?"
"Who came first? If you don't believe it, ask the salesperson. Who will she sell this set of lip gloss to?" The man gestured towards the salesperson, with an arrogant expression on his face.
"I will buy this whole series of velvet lip gloss at three times the price. Salesperson, will you sell it to her or to me?" The man confidently asked, with a hint of self-assurance. In his opinion, who would refuse money?
Kayla also looked over, but to her disappointment, the salesperson snobbishly chose to sell the last set of velvet lip gloss to that person.
"I'm sorry, miss, this gentleman offered three times the price," the salesperson implied that it was quite obvious, someone who paid triple would naturally get the item.
"But I was here first, how can you sell it to him?" Kayla was angry. She had finally picked a gift she liked, only to have it snatched away, making her really unhappy.
William frowned upon seeing this and couldn't help but speak up. "I'm sorry, I'll buy this store."
As he spoke, his gaze carried a hint of provocation towards the arrogant man.
As soon as his words fell, everyone present was shocked by William's statement.
"Sir, are you sure you want to buy our store?" the salesperson couldn't believe it. William looked like a poor man without money, and his words sounded like bragging.
"Yes, I'll buy it no matter how much it costs!" William directly took out his black card, prepared to pay, but was immediately mocked by the man.
"Haha, dressed in cheap clothes, who knows if you can afford a Chanel lipstick, yet you dare to boast about buying the entire store? You're really hilarious," the man laughed, showing complete disdain towards William's appearance. The beautiful woman next to him also looked at William with contempt and a hint of mockery on her lips.
"Whether I can afford it or not is not for you to judge! Today, I'll teach you a phrase: Don't judge a book by its cover!" William sneered and ignored him, heading straight to the cashier, confidently flashing his black card at the salesperson.
"Swipe the card. I’m buying this store."
"Sir, buying this store would cost at least five million dollars. Are you sure you have this money?" The salesperson swallowed nervously, completely doubting that this man dressed in cheap clothes could afford to buy the store.
She initially thought that William was just saying it to show off in front of the beautiful woman next to him.
"Why do you talk so much? Just swipe the card!" William was a bit impatient. Where did all this unnecessary talk come from?
Seeing that William really intended to buy it, the salesperson reluctantly swiped the card. She had thought that William's card wouldn't be able to handle such a large amount, but to her astonishment, the transaction went through successfully.
"It actually went through!" The salesperson was wide-eyed, wearing a surprised expression.
The person next to her and the sexy woman by their side were also greatly shocked when they saw William actually paying to buy the store.
Surprise and unexpected turn of events.
"How is this possible? This person looks like a poor man. How could he afford more than five million US dollars?"
After paying, William calmly took the set of full-color velvet lipsticks from the salesperson's hand without any hesitation and handed it over to Kayla.
"No one will snatch this lipstick from you now. If you see anything else you like in the store, feel free to take it. Consider it my gift to you!" William said with a smile, completely disregarding the money involved.
"William, you... Did you really buy this store??" Kayla finally recovered from her shock after a long while. William's actions were too extravagant! However, when she saw the embarrassed look on the person who had tried to snatch the velvet lipsticks from her, Kayla felt much better.
"In a moment, pack everything in this store for me. I want to take it all with me." William said to the snobbish salesperson. With so many cosmetics, he could only give them away when he got back.
"Yes, sir." The salesperson had no choice. After all, William had bought the entire store. He immediately went to pack the cosmetics for William.
The person's face turned very ugly, especially his seductive companion beside him who complained.
"Vincent, didn't you say you're the young master of the Miller family in the North District? No one dares to provoke you. How can a bastard dare to snatch things from you? I don't care. I want that set of lipsticks, or don't touch me tonight."
Vincent's face became even darker when he saw the beauty ignoring him. He immediately approached William and said threateningly.
"Bastard, I have taken a liking to this set of velvet lipsticks. I'll give you five hundred thousand dollars. Either sell it to me or I'll have someone take it from you. You decide."
William smiled. He didn't expect this person to have such an identity. It was quite a coincidence! He had been thinking of finding an opportunity to get involved in the business influence of the North District, and now an opportunity had literally come to him.
"You are the young master of the Miller family in the North District?" William confirmed once again.
"No need for nonsense. Scared? Let me tell you, the Miller family is one of the three major families in the North District. We run the underground boxing industry. If you don't obediently give me this set of velvet lipsticks, I promise to ruin you within a week." Vincent directly threatened.
The Miller family had an underground boxing industry and had gathered many capable fighters. As long as Vincent gave the order, there would naturally be loyal people who would assist him. This was the source of Vincent's confidence in threatening William.
"The underground boxing industry? That's truly frightening. But I'm actually interested. If you don't mind, I'd like to get involved in the commercial power of the North District." William grinned.
Vincent chuckled, “You're quite fearless. Alright, I'll let you experience it today,” Vincent said as he reached for his phone to call someone and deal with this useless bastard. But William quickly interrupted him, “No need to call anyone. Tomorrow, I will personally visit your underground black boxing club. I'll bring someone along, and we can have a good match. If you win, I'll give you the whole collection of silk velvet lip gloss in all colors. But if I win, I'll have my own conditions,” William smirked, thinking about trapping Vincent.
"Oh, you think you can win against our boxers? Fine, as you wish. Just don't chicken out when the time comes! Otherwise, I'll have someone kill you," Vincent arrogantly replied, completely disregarding William.
In his eyes, William was digging his own grave, and he wouldn't be responsible for what happens next.
"Don't worry, I won't run away!" William's lips curled into a slight smile. Vincent took the bait; he loved to start with these arrogant rich second-generations.
